Tap the live button on any station page and Slackwater follows that water for the next eight hours. Slackwater shows the level, which way it's moving, and a countdown to the turn on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. It's a Control Center button and a Shortcut too, and every tide alert has a "Track on Lock Screen" action. SLACK Texas tides (or any for that matter) don't turn on a dime. The water can sit still for hours across a high, and a countdown to the peak doesn't tell you that. Slackwater now reads those stretches off the curve and says so: "Slack until 6:40 PM, then falling." Slack windows are shaded on every curve, and the arrow next to the level follows the gauge, not the forecast. WIDGETS • The medium widget draws the measured water over the prediction, with the difference beside the level • Day Board (large): the whole day at a glance. Shows tide, measured water so far, night and solunar shading, every turn, sun, moon, wind and water temp • Window (small): the next solunar period, what the tide is doing under it, and when it opens • Every widget can be set to any station. Long-press to pick • Countdowns stay right between refreshes, and everything reads properly in tinted and Lock Screen styles NOTIFICATIONS • Tide alerts name the slack window and arrive ahead of it, not the peak • Solunar alerts say what the tide is doing under the window • Every alert and morning brief carries a picture of the day's curve — long-press to see it • Alerts read cleanly when Siri announces them ### 2.0 — 2026-09-04 Open Slackwater and your spot's conditions are already on screen: water level, how far it's running off the prediction, which way it's moving and how long until the turn, plus wind and water temperature. No unnecessary tapping. The chart at the top draws a full day of measured water against the forecast, with the 0 ft line for reference. Wind, pressure and runoff push the real level off the prediction more often than you'd think, and seeing both lines together tells you which one you're working with. Swipe across the top to move between your spots. The map follows. A MONTH AT A TIME The 30-day calendar has its own button now, next to search and favorites. Month view draws every day's tide on the same scale, so big spring tides read tall and neaps read flat — you can pick a day without opening each one. Sky and wind show in the day list too, as far out as the forecast is worth trusting. ON THE MAP Your spots are amber stars, and they stay put instead of collapsing into a cluster count. The station you're reading is highlighted, so you always know which water the numbers describe. Wind and sea state switch off when you're zoomed too far out for them to mean anything. Radar stays. ALSO • Station names read like places: "Galveston Channel" instead of "GALVESTON, Galveston Channel" • Map controls went from nine buttons to six, with the weather layers under one labelled menu • The map returns to the station you used last, framed on the bay around it • Stations without a live gauge now say so, instead of showing a prediction as though it were a reading • Fixed: scrolling the station sheet when your finger starts on the tide chart ### 1.6 — 2026-08-20 Weather, hour by hour. This update brings a full forecast strip to every station: • Next 24 Hours: temperature curve, rain chances, and wind arrows for the day ahead, right on the station page and inside calendar days. The curve is anchored to the official NWS forecast highs and lows and times, so the curve follows the numbers. • Tide history: the tide curve now scrolls back two full days, with observed water level alongside predictions on live-gauge stations where available. Press and hold to read the exact height at any moment. • Favorites, refreshed: each station gets its own card, and you can star stations right from search. • A better widget: the medium widget shows the tide turn countdown and high/low heights, with a bigger, more readable curve. • Plus reliability fixes: forecast radar recovers gracefully when tiles are slow to load. ### 1.5 — 2026-08-11 Forecast radar is here.
