Great Screening Tool

The app is a great resources for people who want to be aware of what they are reading. I used it before hand to be aware for possible themes or ideas that could cause spiritual misguidance. It also gave me some thoughts to think about before reading and allowed me to ponder on them as I read. I’d recommend to anyone who wants to be cautious about the information they are taking in or want an insight into a book to help them better digest themes and concepts before reading.

Thank you so much for the review! We strive to help parents as much as possible protect their families.

Love the app!

I have shared it across multiple platforms!! Highly recommend! Would love to get some pro features for sharing 🤞🏻

Response from developer

Hey Jinx, Thank you, that means a lot. Sharing already exists on the Analyst plan: family sharing for up to 5 profiles, plus PDF and CSV export if you want to hand a report to someone. If that is not the kind of sharing you meant, email me at hello@slantscanner.com and tell me what you had in mind — requests like yours are how this gets built. All glory to Christ, Mike Rogers, Founder of Slant Scanner

Love the concept, weak execution

Concept is great but it's asking me to login to access content, but I am already logged in. It's glitching and I can't see any place to access "help" .

---

Finally logged in and it will not successfully look up any book, movie, just continues "scanning"

Response from developer

Tiffany — you were right on both counts, and both are now fixed. The login loop was a real bug: the app could hand you a session our server did not yet recognize, so it bounced you back to the login screen seconds after you had signed in. The scans that never finished were a separate problem on our end, and that one is fixed too. Scans now complete in about 30 to 60 seconds. Help is at hello@slantscanner.com, which was also far too hard to find when you wrote this. Thank you for describing it in enough detail that we could track both down. If you ever give it another try, I would genuinely like to know what you think. Mike Rogers, Founder

Prescreen content for yourself and your kids

Do yourself a favor and download SlantScanner now! It has helped me so much already in deciding if books are safe for my kids! My daughter is a big reader but with her reading chapter books now I can’t read multiple chapter books a week to make sure the content is appropriate. This makes it so simple to decide if it’s on the approved list for our kids. It’s also saved us so much time deciding on movies and shows for family night or date night for my husband and I. Now we don’t watch part of a movie or a few episodes of a show and decide it isn’t for us. 🎉

Thank you — the chapter-book problem is exactly the one I built this for. Once a kid reads faster than you can pre-read, the old approach just stops working. Mike Rogers, Founder
