### 4/5 — Refreshing Game.

*2023-06-15*

This game is such a great game to fall on and reset your mind. I have beat this game, but I have not completed it yet. At the start, it was hard to control as I still have problems with my lefts and rights. The dialogue was funny and MOST of the characters were likable. Sometimes I got stumped, but it was mostly because of my stupidity. The mini-games were fun as my favorites were Reflexpalooza and Fast Track (they were the ones I was good at.). However, the Grass Lane had a problem, and it would spawn plants and rocks instead of beasts. They would spawn and then disappear, stating I won the round. It would never end, and I’d never get the awards I got after each round (understandable). Overall, a fun game for those who are completionists.

### 3/5 — Anyone else having issues with challenges 31 and 32?

*2023-05-08*

The game is all around solid and fun. I’ve beaten everything except whenever I load in to play challenge 31, and 32 the enemies literally just don’t spawn. The challenge is to kill them with one of the spiky balls but the enemies just don’t spawn. It’s clearly a bug but I don’t understand why. Anyone else having this problem? Would rate higher if not for this issue.

### 4/5 — Solid game, if Slow

*2022-10-18, version 1.17*

The primary mechanic (having a giant sword) is a great idea and very fun while it lasts. Unfortunately the pacing is too slow for my tastes. Every puzzle and enemy is straightforward and it gets boring after a few levels. Still worth trying.

### 4/5 — Creators you must read this for your game will be sliced is you do not fix this bug

*2021-08-05, version 1.11*

On the stage home at lasts a puzzle is literally impossible it can not be done please fix it soon.

Your game past that is awesome.

### 4/5 — Pretty fantastic but I can’t finish it!

*2021-03-08, version 1.4*

I encountered a bug where if I use a cannon to launch a bunch of grapes (I do not know the name of them but they are used to destroy the totem pole) they will fall through the ground. This occurs at the first mission archer gives you.

### 4/5 — Great game but I’m having a slight issue.

*2021-02-13, version 1.3*

This is a great game and all, nice graphics and a good storyline to back it up and I would’ve rated 5 stars but as of right now when I talk to about the level 10 challenges and up, my game just gets stuck on the loading screen and that’s it. I have to then restart the game and anything else works fine, it’s just the challenges guy that it does this with.

### 3/5 — Really fun and good game, but...

*2021-02-08, version 1.3*

It’s a perfect game or whatever but I’ve played the first three levels like three times and every time I go back to the game it has deleted all my progress making me more upset each time, that’s all.

### 3/5 — Really Enjoyable Game, Just too Many Bugs

*2020-12-12, version 1.2*

Overall, I really have enjoyed playing this game. At first the controls are a bit tricky to get used to, but once you do the gameplay is very smooth and the gameplay is enjoyable. However, on many of the levels there are opportunities to get stuck on top of cliffs or on islands when retracing levels to find treasure chests. Additionally, I was 2 levels away from the Castle and my data was corrupted so it starts me from the first level when I open up the game.

Otherwise, this game has been fun. If they could get the bugs worked out I’d give it a 5 star review.

### 3/5 — Awesome and fresh

*2020-12-06, version 1.2*

Great game with different controls that add to the fun. Please continue to update and add content.

EDIT: castle pass is impossible since the ice blocks get stuck in the wrong spots

### 4/5 — Refreshing dungeon crawl.

*2020-11-29, version 1.2*

This game is great! The controls take a bit of getting used to. However this gives you the feeling of holding onto an unwieldy large sword! Which is clearly the intent.

The boss fights are unique and each stage brings its own challenges. The game is a refreshing take on combat and maneuvering through Zelda like dungeons.

The game is very polished with various side missions and challenges. The challenges are fun but most side missions felt like bland fetch quests.

You do get some power ups along the way but only 1 was actually needed. The game could have made better use of these as they feel tacked on.

### 4/5 — Love it, but has issues

*2020-11-23, version 1.2*

I love this game. The controls took some getting use to, but it’s second nature to me now. Issues though: I can’t get any tasks to load anymore. Completed 9 tasks, but new ones (and ones I’ve already completed) don’t load. The reflection minigame also has issues. It loads, but doesn’t give me a countdown and no enemies spawn. Would love to keep playing if you can fix these issues.

### 4/5 — There seems to be a major bug?

*2020-11-16, version 1.2*

I, and a few others have noted that getting 6/6 chests on Home at Last seems impossible. The most anyone seems to have gotten is 5. Is it possible that one of the chests is unobtainable? If so, I hope a fix arrives soon. Regardless, I love this game a lot! I can’t wait to see what you guys make in the future!

### 3/5 — Controls are hard

*2020-11-09, version 1.2*

I played about 10 minutes of this and I could barely get anywhere because the controls were to hard but still a good game

### 4/5 — 5 enemies on screen quest

*2020-11-05, version 1.2*

The 5 enemies on screen quest is broken sometimes it thinks there’s 5 when there’s only 4

### 3/5 — Destroys battery life. Implement frame limiter or something.

*2020-10-31, version 1.2*

Most games that wreck battery life don’t have a frame limiter. Please implement this as it’s drained my battery far faster than any other game or app I have used in the past few years. Thanks!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Save File keeps getting deleted!

*2022-04-15, version 1.15*

Everytime I try starting the game it asks to choose between a local or cloud file, I choose the most recent one and every time it deletes all my progress and makes me start from scratch even though I clicked the correct file! This is extremely upsetting

### 1/5 — Needs some fixing

*2020-12-02, version 1.2*

Fun concept, but there a few bugs and things that could be improved that really sour the experience. On one level, I kept getting stuck just in the animation of arriving in the level. There’s some puzzles where you could get irreversibly stuck if you don’t do it the exact right way and end up wasting a lot of time.

### 1/5 — Erased progress

*2020-11-08, version 1.2*

When I fist started the game I was having so much fun with all of the different levels and bosses. I got to the level 3-3 with 3000+ coins in my account. I had passed all the other worlds and levels. One day I went on to play the game and my only file (the one that had all my progress) had been erased. The only thing left was a new game file. I would say that I had probably spent over 16 hours on that game and to have it all erased. I am very dissatisfied with this game and I do not recommend it.

### 1/5 — So much potential. Unbearably slow pace.

*2020-10-30, version 1.2*

Cute graphics, cool concept. The gameplay feels like it was made for a toddler with OCD!!! Nothing goes wrong. You can just play it super safe and never worry. You barely have any lives, but you can move at a glacial pace. This would be amazing if there were ever more than 3 enemies at a time! If you were constantly taking damage and dealing it out! The mechanics are there. I just have never felt such a boring time sink playing a game before.

### 1/5 — Ridiculous controls

*2020-10-11, version 1.2*

I played literally two minutes after the aninatics finished and hated the control scheme. They create a big learning curve that is just too much to overcome or get used to. The game night actually be fun but I won't know because of the awkward controls.

The developer says that the control scheme is what makes this game unique. Then sorry but that means that the game replies on a gimmick rather than the actual gameplay/stories/characters. What great game has ever said "oh you'll love this game because of the WAY you control your character!". No one. A simple directional pad would have gone a long way towards staving off frustration and annoyance.

Heck, maybe just put in an option to choose a directional pad. Although someone said they and issues with using a controller so a DPad probably wouldn't help. It all comes down to the movement. It's awkward and not great for precision. If you're getting attacked you're gonna talk a hit or two. If the control scheme was traditional that wouldn't happen as much.

Plus 720 coins to get one heart back. Really? That's not a bit much, is it? Yeah it is. There are plenty of opportunities to get hearts so after here at the start but I bet later that those will go away.

### 1/5 — Movement is difficult

*2020-10-03, version 1.2*

I am using a Macbook Air 3 and I am playing the opening sequence. The W key is your only means of moving and that is in the direction you are facing. A and D keys spin your sword around. And the mouse is useless at this point. All that said, it is frustrating to move around. The mouse could accomplish this. Or use the WASD keys as is normally done and the the left right mouse buttons for swinging. The game does look interesting and I will give it a try on my ipad. But using a mouse on the Macbook does improve the gaming experience.

### 1/5 — Almost impossible to control movement

*2020-10-03, version 1.2*

The most frustrating, counter-intuitive way to move a character in any game I have ever tried. Playing with a PlayStation controller and moving the control stick just a millimeter results in the character doing a 180 even though the control stick is not pointed in that direction. Gave up after 30 seconds of trying, because life is too short and precious to waste it on a too-clever-by-half, fix-what-was-never-broken movement scheme.

### 2/5 — Cute game but stupid control

*2021-05-16, version 1.5*

Got a love the graphics now but the controls are ridiculously stupid. I couldn’t get hooked on this game. The controls overshadow the whole storyline and gameplay.

### 2/5 — 30 minutes in

*2020-11-09, version 1.2*

Completely stuck. Nowhere to go. Searched for 15 minutes straight but no path available to me. That’s a pretty game breaking bug if you ask me. Was fun up till then.

### 2/5 — Will not open...

*2020-10-03, version 1.2*

When I try to open the app a box pops up saying “this app is no longer available”.. never seen that before. I have deleted and reinstalled it like 10 times, tried restarting my phone but it still isn’t loading. All my other Arcade games are still working so I’m definitely still subscribed to Apple Arcade. Please fix, been wanting to try this game. 😩

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Not bad

*2022-12-22, version 1.18*

I’ll go ahead and give it a five because the game is really good I love it and the controls are so cool

But the one thing that I would put to four stars is when you hit a rock your sword shrinks and that annoyed the heck out of me but otherwise this is a great game you should try it (if you have Apple Arcade of course)

### 5/5 — THE GREATEST GAME

*2021-10-14, version 1.11*

The art style is adorable and the story is charming. The mechanics are creative and easy to grasp. The controls are odd but in a super fun ways that makes the game even more interesting and invokes cool strategies of fluid sword swinging. The levels are designed to be easy and simple but not boring. Some games with secret items make you really frustrated as you try and find them but this game is designed amazingly. It is easily my favorite game on iPad right now and I haven’t experienced any issues at all. Amazing job developers!! Apple Arcade has so much potential

### 5/5 — The controls aren’t bad, you are

*2021-10-11, version 1.11*

I’ll be honest here, the controls is the base of the game. You are meant to adapt and learn using the slightly silly controls. You aren’t meant to slice away with a press of a button. If you take the time and get used to the controls (the point of the game) you will enjoy it. The story is simple and straightforward and cute. A good game overall

### 5/5 — Bug while retrieving archer’s quiver

*2021-09-01, version 1.11*

This game is a lot of fun. I’m on a side quest, helping the archer retrieve their lost quiver. One of the berries that is shot through a canon toward the chomping head totem just floats away after landing near the head. No kidding, like it is floating down the graphics (which are a lava on this level), as though carried by a lazy river current. There’s no way for my character to retrieve it and there is no way to complete the quest without it. Please address 🙏🏼

### 5/5 — Love this game!

*2021-02-21, version 1.4*

The quests and story are cool love the amount of achievements in Game Center! I just wish there was a multiplayer option with Game Center like online gameplay support? I hope I see more Apple Arcade multiplayer games! love this development!

### 5/5 — Great game

*2021-01-10, version 1.2*

Love the game and it keeps me entertained for hours it’s challenging but fun to. I finished the game crying of effort I had put in to it . These were happy tears. I hope you make more games like this.

### 5/5 — Enjoyable

*2020-12-14, version 1.2*

I really enjoyed playing this game! The controls are part of the challenge.

### 5/5 — Bug in Game/Dissatisfied with Customer Service

*2020-12-05, version 1.2*

I love this game! I wish I could rate it higher, but the developers are frustrating. If there is a resolve, I'd be more than happy to give this game 5 stars. I have attempted contacting them on multiple occasions concerning a bug that LITERALLY, inhibits my ability to progress in the storyline. On multiple occasions I have contacted them with the information they requested to help identify and possibly diagnose the issue. Unfortunately, apart from an automated message requesting the same information I already included in my initial correspondence, I have received absolutely nothing from the developers. Since I cannot continue the storyline, I don't see any other options besides deleting the app and not returning to play. I already have tried starting a new game and deleting/redownloading the game.

### 5/5 — Ignore the hater

*2020-11-28, version 1.2*

PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE CONTROLS???! what! The point of the game is the adaptive and unique controls you just need to get used to them guys. And they’re are many bug complaints (which are true) but I’m sure the developer(s) are working hard to fix them. although I do have one complaint: the tutorial, during the tutorial nothing much happened and when it was over I was very confused I didn’t understand I had to stick my sword into the statues for about a day. Anyways great game 10/10

### 5/5 — Level 2-2 is impossible

*2020-11-24, version 1.2*

The game is really fun, but Once I got to the last part in 2-2 I got stuck. Either the creators are idiot’s or the game is not fully made yet or I’m an idiot. Even then CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?
