Just a bit glitchy. Like if I click on someone’s profile picture, and try to (x) out of it, it doesn’t really work, I have to force close the app. Sometimes when I back out of something I just get a black screen. Not entirely sure if anything in the music column is supposed to work or not? Like when you click on something if it’s supposed to play a song or take you to where to download the song? Same with the art and podcast section as well. Navigating could be smoother, and an option to make a 1 time payment to get rid of ad’s would be nice. Maybe 1.99 or 4.99? Those are just my tips on it, aside from that, I love the idea of a social horror app, to simply see others recommendations, etc. and everybody on the app is super chill and friendly. ### 4/5 — Messages *2023-11-15, version 4.8.0* This app is a little glitchy, but pretty good, overall. An app that connects all horror fans? Sign me up. Just got wind of this app and downloaded it. Seemed slow to start up, but that’s not the problem. I tried numerous times to make my first post, but every time, it just crashed. I would totally love to be a part of this, but the app just won’t let me. I thought maybe there was a web version I could use, but there isn’t. If this gets fixed, I will change my rating, but as I’ve said, I can’t even make my first post. UPDATE: I got the app working better, but it still runs very slow, if at all. Still have trouble posting pictures when they’re a day or so older. I have to screen shoot it from my own photos to make it a new photo to upload. Again, concept is great. Been able to connect with a lot of really cool people, it just needs an update to run faster, recognize older photos, and to upload videos from your library without having to share as a link from other video platforms. ### 2/5 — Lots of glitches *2022-03-03, version 3.2.6* Downloaded this app a few days ago and while it is a fun app experience due to the content and users, it is full of bugs and I frequently receive error messages and extremely long load times, especially when accessing user profiles. A nice start but in need of a lot of debugging and performance improvement. ### 1/5 — Fun concept. Poorly executed *2022-02-27, version 3.2.6* The lag going from one page to another or from messages to requests which are under the same menu often takes minutes to load even on 60mbps wifi. Regardless of internet speed, many actions in simply navigating the app regularly time out and when they work, at best, they still take like 30 seconds to load. This level of lag makes this app almost unbearable to use. This app and its UI need quite a bit of polishing before I’m willing to get in and even consider using it on even a once-a-week or so basis. ### 2/5 — Movie database problems and more *2022-01-18, version 3.2.6* Slasher is a great concept. The problem for me is for one, it’s super glitchy and VERY slow to load. The other problem is the movie database. I love the idea of tracking movies I’ve watched, but for some reason they won’t add new movies into the database…even big budget horror. Everything seems to pretty much be from 2019 and earlier. I’ve asked the admins and they brush it off by saying the database is a vendor and they have no control over the content. Weak response. Hopefully an app comes along that’s similar but better executed. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — This app is not a safe space for women *2025-07-07, version 5.1* Had my account deleted because one white man disagreed with my post. “Horror is political”. He then harassed me , sending me multiple threatening comments and DMS. But his account is still up and mine has been removed. The developer chooses to silence women instead of dealing with a red pill podcaster with 700 friends. ### 1/5 — Toxic *2025-06-22, version 5.0.6* I was a member for a little over a year and it was a toxic platform. Harassed for having a differing opinion. Intrusive DM’s that when reported, were not met with any care or concern. No moderation whatsoever and an owner/creator that allows the inmates to run the asylum. I will not be returning. Instantly deactivated my account ### 1/5 — The creator is a simp *2024-07-25, version 5.0.6* Slasher used to be an awesome escape from typical social media until recently there was a sudden uptick of e-girls and posers who would beg for attention and create drama unrelated to the community. The creator Damon allows these people to insult others when called out for their ridiculous antics and then bans those people when they punch back. It’s pretty sad that a dude who could create something so great could be such a weak simp. Now I gotta create another account and do it all over again. ### 1/5 — Awful *2024-01-29, version 4.9.5* Fix your app there are so many bugs ### 1/5 — A toxic social media network. *2023-09-05* Never mind that the app has bugs for days. My main issue is the overall toxic and unsafe environment. In my short time there I have been harassed for having a differing opinion, received rude and explicit DM’s, and attempts at catfishing. The worst was being gaslit by the owner of Slasher. Anytime I would raise an issue, they would say one of two things. “We’re looking into it” or “we don’t have enough evidence.” He’s encouraging an unsafe platform. The inmates are running the asylum. Be warned. ### 1/5 — Awful *2023-01-16, version 3.2.9* Do not download this app. If you don’t agree with people on their opinions they become babies and the admin is just as bad. I signed into the app and left it for the day and checked it the first night and had 80 notifications- friend requests and other junk. This is Spam box. Not what a social network is about, we would never support this action ever. Instagram and Facebook doesn’t ban Youtube from having a profile. We never posted bad content, never even said a word. Have fun being under this Damon guys ‘rule’. Broken and scared of failing don’t ever cross him, might cost you your account. But then again the actives are not there, just a mess with non-horror content all over and you have to friend people just to see photos of anything. Provides nothing special that you won’t find in a subreddit or on instagram. Guy just hired some third party to build it all and trying to make money off the horror community. Overall was fun while it lasted, you can literally follow every person from A-Z after sign up making being unique unnecessary. Like going in a phone book and calling everyone. LOL Oh yea, since we can’t be on the platform, go check us out by Googling ‘Kill TV’. Must be 18+ to play. As I was updating it I noticed old reviews talking about all the bugs. It’s true that there were some issues years ago but that has all been squashed. The app runs great in its current state. The devs have put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into it. Constantly updating things and adding things based off of user input. The people here are great! I’ve made so many friends. It’s the most welcoming and supportive group and it’s fun trading movie suggestions and discussing genres. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of horror and want a social media app without all the bad parts of social media.
