## What is Slate Workout Tracker Gym Log?

See your muscles recover. Train with purpose. Log at full speed.

Slate is the fastest workout tracker built for lifters who obsess over progress. Other apps make you tap through menus to log a single set. Slate keeps you in the flow: swipe to add sets, rate RPE without leaving the keyboard, and move across exercises without a single tap breaking your rhythm. Real-time muscle recovery. A Coach that actually knows your training. Progress photos that prove it. Everything else is just a log.

SWITCHING FROM HEVY OR STRONG?
Bring your entire history with you. Slate's fuzzy-matching importer maps your exercises automatically and preserves every set. No data loss. No starting over. Lifters keep switching for a reason: over 70,000 sets logged and a 5.0 rating.

THE FASTEST SET LOGGING IN ANY TRACKER
Swipe right to insert a set with auto-fill. Swipe left to delete. Rate RPE inline the moment a set ends. No popups, no extra screens. The smart keyboard bar moves you across exercises without the keyboard ever closing. Check off sets and rate RPE right from the lock screen Live Activity, without unlocking your phone. A plate calculator that loads the bar with the exact plates your gym has. Stop fighting your app between sets.

MUSCLE RECOVERY TRACKING
Slate's recovery engine shows which muscles are fresh, which are recovering, and which are overloaded. The strain map visualizes your whole training week with per-muscle breakdowns, and Weekly Rings show coverage, intensity, and program progress at a glance. Your muscles don't lie.

A COACH THAT KNOWS YOUR LIFTS
Ask "How is my squat?" and get an answer built from your actual training: your best sets, your recent pattern, and what to work on next. Coach builds programs, edits workouts on the fly, and plans around your goals, your training history, and your injuries.

AI WORKOUTS BUILT ON EXERCISE SCIENCE
Seeded with EMG data and trained on strength science principles. Tell it "45 minutes, push day, dumbbells only" and get a single workout or a full 8-week periodized program. Programs remember where you left off, even after restarting the app. No black-box guessing.

NEW: A MARKETPLACE OF PROGRAMS
Browse featured training programs and filter by days per week, experience, goal, and equipment. One tap shows only the plans that work with the gear you own. Preview every day of a program before you start it.

PROGRESS PHOTOS DONE RIGHT
Private progress photos with front, side, and back poses. Compare any two days side by side and drag to flip through time. Photos pair with your body weight automatically and show up right on your weight chart. Import your old photos and Slate dates them for you.

BUILD WORKOUTS HANDS-FREE
Dictate exercises and structure like "Build me a 45-minute chest and triceps workout." Tap to record or hold to talk. Batch parse multiple sets. No typing, no fumbling.

SEE YOUR REAL STRENGTH
DOTS score and bell curve show your strength relative to lifters your age, weight, and gender. Personal records ranked by estimated 1RM. Lift smarter, not just harder.

TRACK EVERYTHING
Weight and reps, time, distance, bodyweight, assisted and weighted bodyweight. 500+ exercise library. Supersets, drop sets, rest-pause, myo-reps. Body measurements. Attach form and setup photos to any exercise. Interval timers: Tabata, HIIT, EMOM. Five timer sounds, from Fight Bell to Crescendo.

SHARE AND TRAIN TOGETHER
Share cards with your stats over your own photo, plus a scannable import code so a friend can pull your exact workout into their Slate. Send full programs with a link.

APPLE HEALTH
Workouts and body weight sync automatically with Apple Health. Log once, see it everywhere.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-05-08*

It offers so much more than I expected. It gives great customize options. It also has you record how hard the set was. And offers a diagram of how hard each muscle was hit. You can also have the app create workouts for you. Which I didn’t try, but I’m sure it’s great.

### 5/5 — Perfect for me

*2026-04-12*

I’m new to weight lifting and this has been great at generating programs based on my abilities, time commitment, and I love the fact it has injury awareness for the AI generation. I haven’t seen that in any other apps.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-04-11*

Finally found what I was looking for! I tried every workout tracker on the market and this is by far the easiest to use. I’ve always been frustrated with the confusing ui’s of literally every other tracker on the market. There’s no over the top cartoonish animations and it just does what it incredibly well. Love the ai voice features and injury aware workout generation. Very happy I found this.

### 5/5 — Better than Hevy!

*2026-02-27*

I’ve been using Hevy for years and found it confusing to navigate. Slate is so user friendly and has so many features! I absolutely love that I can speak to it and have it build me a workout with the use of ai! I don’t have to think about it and it keeps my workouts from becoming repetitive and mundane!
