## What is sleep?

Sleep-2-Peak is a highly sensitive scientific tool developed by sleep specialists that will show you your best sleep and work/activity schedule by measuring your alertness variations. No other device or wearable required. Figure out your unique circadian rhythm and how to be most alert during the day. Use sleep-2-Peak to demonstrate to others your sleep need and ideal work/activity schedule contributing to your wellbeing.

Your alertness variations are measured with a scientifically validated, short and simple reaction time test and/or through Text-Speed able to track your texting speed variations (patent pending). Your results are linked to your previous night bedtime/out of bed time to see what sleep schedule allows YOU to be at your BEST the next day.

Your reaction time variations throughout the day are also demonstrated on a second graph to see what time of day is associated to your best performances.

Ideal for high performance athletes, executives, and anyone else who wants to know the best time to sleep, workout, and even engage in analytical and creative activities.

Researchers can also use sleep-2-Peak in their studies of fatigue and alertness as its reaction time test is proven to be as sensitive as the widely used PVT or even more sensitive for some aspects (sleep-2-Peak compared to the gold standard PVT-192). It is also more practical as every subject can have their own measuring device and transfer their data if desired to the researcher.

Developed by a neurologist specialized in sleep medicine, cognitive psychologists with expertise in sleep and alertness and experts in digital health. Our fatigue measurement reaction time task is scientifically validated in a peer reviewed publication:

Brunet, J. F., Dagenais, D., Therrien, M., Gartenberg, D., & Forest, G. (2017). Validation of sleep-2-Peak: A smartphone application that can detect fatigue-related changes in reaction times during sleep deprivation. Behavior Research Methods, 49, 2, 1460-1469.

>10 poster publications that validate the use of the app for measuring physical and cognitive states.

Your data is YOURS. You can export your data to your computer and select data you would like to export to others. Your data could also contribute to a global database to allow a better understanding of circadian rhythms and what can be done to improve schedules and wellbeing. In this event, your permission will be required to have your data entered in the database.

The application was developed to be sensitive to detect:
- Sleep need
- The circadian rhythm (alertness variation with time of day and body rhythms)
- Mental and physical performance variation (correlation with reaction time test)
- Influence of substances

By using sleep-2-Peak, you will become aware of alertness variations beyond what you can feel. You will discover how powerful your schedule choices can be to boost your performances naturally.

### 1/5 — Where's the test?

*2024-08-31, version 4.1.0*

So fun that the interface doesn't show you where to do the vigilance test. Brilliant. User interface team, A+! Did you think to test it on uninitiated subjects and see how they interact with the program? hard to imagine that you did and didn't discover the importance of having clear buttons signalling where to find the test...

### 5/5 — Fixed crash issue (from developer)

*2015-11-01*

Hi brosnaro -
We addressed the issues with the app crashing.
Sorry about that.

### 2/5 — Crashes so frequently it's nearly unusable

*2015-08-28*

Sadly this app crashes so frequently that it's nearly unusable. To make matters worse, the crashes typically occur upon completion of the visual psycho-motor tests, losing the data collected during the test. While the idea of better understanding the effect of sleep patterns on performance is attractive, and the pedigree of the app's developers lend it credibility, the basic dysfunction of the app renders it unworkable and not worth the effort to undertake the tests repeatedly.

### 4/5 — Great idea, somewhat unstable

*2015-08-28*

It crashes sometimes during the test itself, sometimes during the data entry before the test.
Other than that, great.

### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne pas IPAD

*2013-10-21, version 1.1*

Je viens de payer 3 dollars et pendant l'explication, l'apps se ferme toute seule. Aidez-moi svp.

### 5/5 — Great App!!

*2013-02-26, version 1.0*

As sleep researchers, we always look out for easier and reliable ways to measure vigilance across long periods of time. This App does it! This is a great tool and its simplicity is amazing. It can be compared to the traditional and classic Psychomotor Vigilance Test (PVT) widely used in sleep research but with portability and accessibility qualities that make this App more advantageous.

### 5/5 — Brought me to a higher level!

*2013-01-07, version 1.0*

I tought I could go to bed late and stay alert, but this app showed me that even a single late bedtime affects my reaction times for a few days. Thanks to this app, I'm now aware that going to bed earlier really improves my performances.

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2012-11-21, version 1.0*

We ve been searching for a tool to help our top performing clients achieve their full potential. sleep-2-Peak has brought our practice to a new level, helping people to measure themselves in a way to better understand what makes them achieve their peak states.

### 5/5 — great app

*2012-09-28, version 1.0*

Really easy to use. simple yet precise and useful.

the graphs are interesting to learn about your "best" sleep pattern not only to be ready for your day but to be at peak for your performance (physically and/or mentally)

### 5/5 — I've been looking for something like this

*2012-09-25*

As a marathon runner I've been looking for something that can give me better feedback on how I can organize my schedule around better exercise. Thanks guys for developing this app :)
