Not so much. I usually listen to my own music or a different app like Calm while wearing the sleep phones. The app would be more useful if you could download the music from the website directly to the app. Also, as everyone else says, it needs a timer and it does not need the sheep baaing. Too bad because the music that comes with the app is really nice. ### 3/5 — Okay app but.. *2015-09-23* I like the app but please seriously fix the app so I can use the do not disturb button. My do not disturb button is on and I'm still getting woke up by text messages. I need to leave my ringer on for my alarm. ### 3/5 — Needs update badly *2015-04-02* Please do the following: remove annoying sheep noise, enable background running, allow sheep animation to be dimmed, allow for additional song/sounds to be added, timer, update for new iPhones. Every so often, the app becomes completely unresponsive and has to be uninstalled and reinstalled. Currently you have to leave your screen on which crushes the battery. 2. Needs a timer 3. Get rid of the annoying sheep noise upon opening If these simple fixes are addressed it would be 5 stars ### 2/5 — Eh… *2014-09-15* I love the SleepPhones, but not the app. The fact that the music runs until you turn it off is a big detraction; in lighter stages of sleep the music actually wakes me up. I've got three or four other apps, two of which are completely customizable, and all have timers. ### 4/5 — Marriage saver *2014-09-06, version 1.3* The headphones this app comes with are a godsend: eight nights out of ten, I don't hear my husband snore now. It is so nice to be in the same bed with him again! I don't actually use the sounds on this app though. The loud Sheep 'baaaa!!!' When you sign in is jarring, annoying, and counterintuitive. Love the addition of binaural beats. Wish there were more settings for them though. Update, folks! ### 4/5 — Great distraction from noise, want more options! *2013-02-18* I needed to have something other than earplugs to drown out noise around me being that I don't live alone. Dogs barking, tv noise and other distractions that keep me up around easier to deal with now. I just wish the app had more than 4 options because I really enjoy the headphones and would like other varieties. ### 3/5 — Nice but get rid of the annoying sheep noise *2013-01-19* I love my sleepphones and these are great sounds to go with it. But please, please, please take that sheep noise off when one turns on the app! Imagine you're In your pajamas, in bed about to close your eyes and then a loud "baaaa"sound rips into your eardrums when you're trying to relax and get ready for bed. I bought this for an 11 hr plane ride so I wanted to test the app out at home first to see if my battery can last a whole night running this app without it being plugged in. Even on airplane mode this app killed my phone that was at 60% at some point in the night. I downloaded the free mp3s and put them in my iTunes and that only eats about 30% of my battery on airplane mode. So while the app is convenient. If you are going to use this app while traveling when it can't be plugged in, don't. Would never get! BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. ### 1/5 — Too short *2018-10-03, version 2.0.1* The recording only goes for about 20 minutes and makes a click sound at the end so if you’ve fallen asleep it wakes you up. There doesn’t seem to be a settings to change the play length. It takes you back to the main screen and you can’t click the same track again until you’ve clicked a different track. ### 1/5 — Really poor *2018-07-10, version 2.0.1* I can do without pop up ads for a product I already own, especially when I’m tired and want to sleep. I’ve owned many wireless headphones and this is the only pair with no battery level indicator of any kind, not even in this app. No time feature & a really loud annoying sheep sound when the app starts. Terrible terrible app, such a shame considering how popular the headphones are. I really hope they’ll sort this app out. ### 1/5 — Make the sounds continuous! *2016-04-04* This app is absolutely the worst! Just when I start falling asleep or am asleep the stupid sound will stop and restart and that always wakes me up! I hate it! I finally found something that can help me sleep and the stupid stopping and restarting of the noise prevents me from sleeping! But who on Earth puts a SCREAMING SHEEP SOUND as an intro for a *relaxation* app? Twice now tonight I was finally dozing off and made the biggest jump ever when I opened it!! I can appreciate it's the mascot and all, but this is very, very disturbing. If you must have it, make it a cuter one, less harsh and loud? For a moment I eve thought it was a prank app haha!! Besides that, well it's straight to the point, 4 choices of sounds, you cannot turn off the binaural waves, and the screen goes to a (cute) animation after a few seconds no matter what. ### 1/5 — Utter pants *2015-05-05, version 1.3* Would give it no stars if that was possible. It needs a timer too. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — One of the few things that help me sleep. *2015-05-05, version 1.3* The combination of the Sleephones and these tracks are one of the few things that can actually get me to sleep. And I have tried almost everything, trust me on that. If you don't respond to one track then you can switch to another. There are days when one works and the other doesn't. That is the beauty of this. I higly recomend this. ### 5/5 — No headphones necessary imo *2014-10-05* I started listening to binaural beats music/sounds several months ago, mostly using the free ones that AcousticSheep had available for download. I have slept with earbuds of and on over the years, and don't own any sleepphones or such, but I was curious if the music would help me fall asleep if I listened to it with only a bluetooth speaker I have on my nightstand. And WOW it really works! My favorite tune is Newport Waves. If I need to get to sleep fast, that's my go-to tune, and I fall asleep always within 10 minutes, usually quicker. If you have trouble falling asleep, give these sounds a try. They really do help! ### 5/5 — Love this app! *2013-09-06* I use this app with my sleep phones and love it. It helps me fall asleep and drown out my spouses loud snoring. Would recommend to all ### 5/5 — A great accessory to sleepphones, *2012-11-22* I recommend sleepphones to anyone who'd like to have a very comfortable pair of headphones to sleep in, or even to just wear for things. Since it's a headband I can use it for housework also. These songs are available as free mp3 downloads on their website but having them in an app is very convenient.
