Since most horse people are busy, often short handed, seems like a lot could be done to improve the interface to be more efficient (for example being able to record outside of the app; being able to use a remote control to trigger recording if you’re solo using a tripod etc.). If this app were less expensive my expectations would be lower, but for $200 a month it’s hard to swallow being this annoyed. ### 5/5 — Dr Ross Pedrana *2026-01-13* Great App for sending information to remote clients and as an adjunct tool to subjective examination. ### 2/5 — Only available to vets not owners *2024-09-16* I can’t say how well this works as it’s only available to vets and not owners disappointingly. If this was made available to owners it could change the welfare of many horses for the better. I see so many lame horses out competing with unaware, uneducated owners, imagine an app for owners showing them their horse is in fact lame and they can make steps to seek treatment. While Sleip is a precision tool for veterinary diagnostics, enabling others in the care team to monitor to detect subtle irregularities can help ensure that horses that need it are referred to a vet earlier and with better documentation. To support this, vets using Sleip can invite horse owners to record their horses through the app. We’ve also recently released a monitoring version of the Sleip app for other equine professionals, such as physiotherapists and farriers. Our goal is for as many horses as possible to benefit from Sleip’s technology, and we will continue to develop our offerings. Ultimately, we envision Sleip not only in the toolbox of every professional but also in the pocket of every horse owner! ### 4/5 — Love the concept, but wish it would upload faster *2023-12-15* I mostly can only review videos after we have finished a visit because the upload speeds are so slow. I like it for rechecks and when I have the luxury to do a lameness exam separately from my treatment, but it’s frustrating to use in real time, especially for farm calls in rural areas. I really like the analysis videos showing slow motion side by side with each graph point, the color coding on the legs, and mini colored bar graphs to show clients. It also seems to have a very good algorithm for recognizing when the horse is not trotting appropriately, so I don’t have to redo a lot of videos **Developer response:** Hi Yana, thank you so much for this feedback!
