I take the public transit so perfect short adventures. Only issue is I listen to Spotify and there’s def an audio issue when playing and streaming. I did disable audio but no dice haha ### 4/5 — Great game with little replay value *2026-08-04, version 3.2.19* To preface, I’ve only played the free version. The gameplay is great. It’s simple but fun turn-based mechanics are well thought out and the enemies do pose a challenge. The randomness of your heroes and having to play around their strengths and weaknesses is very well implemented. My favorite part of the game is that you really have to think when making any move in the game. The strategy and stakes complement each other well. My only gripe is that I don’t think there’s much replay value. If you like a game for simply the gameplay, in this case you’ll keep doing an endless replay of the same dungeons with no story or progression other than starting a new dungeon run, then you’d probably think this game is perfect. I wish there was more. Although I will probably keep this game downloaded for the near future in case I want to do a single dungeon just to pass the time, I don’t think I will want to play past one dungeon as the game doesn’t offer much beyond dungeon runs with a bit of randomness on what heroes, enemies, and items you get. ### 4/5 — weird audio bug *2026-08-03, version 3.2.19* when playing any outside audio either music or a youtube video doesnt matter, the audio gets super glitchy. i know its tied to this app because as soon as i leave the app the audio is restored. very strange, please fix bc this game is genuinely fun ### 4/5 — I really enjoy this game, but it requires accessibility updates *2026-08-03, version 3.2.19* I am colorblind. There is one single colorblind option in the settings and it states “colorblind poison” I found this to be laughable. The idea that the only color mechanic in the entire game is the Fing poison is just ridiculous. So much of this game relies on color, and I find myself having to long hold to know which dice I rolled, having absolutely no idea what the lineup screens are insinuating- since I can’t distinguish the color well, and not knowing what player to play a item on if it is a color specific item! I just find it absurd that colorblind people were in fact thought about, yet there was barely anything that was made accessible, literally such a small part of the game was changed! This game requires an entire colorblind hue filter! Other than that though I genuinely love this game! It’s fun and I bought the expansion. There is so much content and I absolutely love rougelikes! I hope that this may help make this game more accessible to me in the future, (even if it’s as simple as differentiating classes with a symbol along with the color) because the color systems are very annoying for me to have to deal with. Thanks! ### 4/5 — It’s decent but.. *2026-07-08, version 3.2.19* The game is great and scratches most of the check marks for me and it’s one of the few games you pay for on the App Store and there’s no hidden fees or pay to win proprieties. My issue is starting out is unforgiving and it can be a bit of a skill gap starting out. On an airplane, at work, long road trips, etc. There is enough uniqueness in every game that it seems unlikely you’ll have similar outcomes. ### 3/5 — Cant Go Fullscreen *2026-06-03, version 3.2.19* Game is fun, but it won’t go fullscreen, im stuck with black bars on the side on my ipad ### 5/5 — Phenomenal Depth & High Skill Ceiling *2026-05-31, version 3.2.19* When you first open the game you might think to yourself that it looks sort of janky or dated. You might expect something a bit barebones because of that thought. However if you ignore those preconceptions and jump in ready to take the game seriously it will surprise you with layers of depth, countless quality of life features that you wished other games had, and more than enough content to justify the price of the full game. There’s a lot of love underneath the hood here. My favorite part of this game isn’t even the gameplay itself, it’s the maze-like jungle of a pause-screen. Weird right? Go into what you expect to be a simple settings menu and you’ll find expansive glossaries that are genuinely useful to advancing through the game at any given point during a run. You’ll find every single component and mechanic of the game either listed, or outline in depth. You’ll find a really neat Jukebox feature with a decent library of neat background music. You can tinker with that jukebox to set whatever atmospheric vibe you’re looking for in that moment. You’ll also notice that there’s a ton of content you aren’t able to see yet, because you haven’t unlocked it. There are TONS of things to unlock. Hundreds of items, dozens of unique classes all with their own unique evolution/upgrade trees, like 20 different game modes that genuinely differ from one to the next; the list goes on and on. Hell, you can even unlock settings themselves; features that let you play and tinker with almost every aspect of the game. You can essentially go on to create your own game modes, tailor the game for fun or for challenge. The developers of this game really put their hearts into this and it shows more and more as you play. I’m not even close to running out of things to list off here, but I’ll stop because this review became accidentally massive. This isn’t my favorite game ever. It’s not even one of my favorite games ever. Still, I’m having a ton of fun playing it. Even if I hated it on a personal level I wouldn’t regret the money I spent because I’m more than happy to throw a developer like this a bone. ### 5/5 — Fun game but can’t restore purchase *2026-05-31, version 3.2.19* Update - the dev promptly fixed the issue below so up to 5 stars. Thanks! I’m enjoying playing this game and it has a lot of features and replayability. I’ve knocked a star off as I’m not able to restore the full game unlock on my iPad (after buying it on my phone). I enjoyed the free trial, but 8 dollars for the full game is too much. I’d pay 5 at most for the full game. For 8 bucks there are other games that offer more, if the price ever does go down I’d gladly buy it. Had no expectation to get so addicted to this absolute masterpiece. The different configurations and strategies which are viable are immense. Too many runs I figured I would be absolutely crushed only to be forced into using a new idea that actually pulled me through some of the hardest challenges I faced, and yet I didn’t feel as if it was because of an exploit. So many interesting mechanics and combinations. I only hope to see what the dev does next, yet the quality of slice and dice would be hard to match and is obviously the result of a passion project and hyper fixation. Genuinely love this game. I hope the dev feels the satisfaction of making such a fantastic game. ### 5/5 — Simple to learn, hard to master with great replayability *2026-04-28, version 3.2.13* I’ve played this game for dozens of hours and think it’s one of the best mobile games out there. If you like board games or D&D-like RPGs, you’ll enjoy this game. I’m usually a PC gamer but always fine myself coming back to this game when I have downtime. With great save mechanics (can pause whenever), low storage size, and a one-time purchase (no micro transactions), it’s also a great experience. It takes a bit to learn but has great replayability with a near infinite amount of combinations of heroes, items, and enemies. I think it has a great balance of skill and luck for a rouge-like so taking risks is worth it but when you do lose it’s not too miserable. ### 5/5 — Scratches the itch *2026-04-23, version 3.2.13* Great concept. Approachable mechanics with a great level of depth and customizability. Horribly addictive. I never really pay for any phone games etc, but this warranted buying the full game. It’s fun, it has no ads, no microtransactions, no internet connection needed, it doesn’t even collect your data! I’ve put a ton of hours in this game, and it’s my true go-to. It also helped me curb my social media addiction, because now if I’m reaching for my phone I’m reaching to play Slice n Dice. Play the demo, have some fun, and then buy the thing, because it’s worth every penny, and I think we should always rewards devs like this.
