The hardware is very nice but the app is so impenetrable I can’t even make heads or tales of it. Call DJI and ask who made their app for their gimbals and steal them. This mess has no dedicated settings area to adjust anything so you don’t even know if it’s just set up wrong: I have yet to get the pan function to work properly. The focus button must be continually swiped to roll focus instead of a hold to roll functionality. There is no tutorial to even tell you what the features even do, never mind the fact that they don’t seem to work. Makes me feel ripped off, to be honest. ### 2/5 — Not for iPad *2017-09-19* Doesn't appear compatible with my iPad. ### 1/5 — Don't waste your money *2017-07-11* This is an absolutely terrible product. Save your money and go with a different brand. Every time you open the app it wants you to make several updates and then the slider still won't work. At the time I'm writing this the time lapse feature doesn't work which is the only reason I made this purchase. The person I spoke with on the phone didn't know what they were talking about. She claimed I needed a cable I didn't have. So another purchase and it still doesn't work. Huge waste of time and money. ### 1/5 — Very annoyed user *2017-07-10* first off let me start out by saying I am using this on my iPad as that is the only apple IOS I own. The interface gets squished at the bottom and you cant read and hardly select the buttons across the bottom. Secondly getting a metric ruler in the US is not actually that easy. Not to mention the video that presented the slider plus motion kit make a it seem easy when it's not. You have to program your lenses with a ruler and focus chart for each lens. Programming it via the iPad is impossible because the keyboard covers the buttons to move on. ### 1/5 — Bugs *2017-06-12, version 1.1* Bottom of each page on ipad is cut off. Can't use to set up my motion kit. Every time I go to pull this out and use it I discover all over again how useless this product ended up being. Because of the issues I have had and poor customer service I would not recommend anything from this company. Buyer beware the company over promise and does not deliver. The app has never been up to par. ### 1/5 — Huge potential, terrible user control options *2020-01-18* It is amazing to me that a company could have the mechanics of something so helpful to pro filmmakers but refuse to create a controller application that supports the capabilities of this product. Perhaps they are overthinking it. Start simple with less automation and more user control. I purchased a SliderPLUS Long over two years ago and it sits on a shelf in the camera room unused. Does sitting on a shelf, unused align with the vision of the company? Please put more effort into making this product as wonderful as it could be. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2019-11-13* App crashes, and is very buggy. I can’t get the focus module to work at all. This is definitely not something that I would trust on set. ### 1/5 — Very disappointed *2018-06-01* As you can see there a ton of issues with this product. Foolishly I did not research this product well enough. I would say it’s about 50% operational at best. I can use it for one of main purposes but it does not work fo many of the other modes and functions. And it’s not working with iPhone But galaxy working but still loose connection many times. So disappointed.. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2017-12-10* $3500 on the full motion kit and the app renders it comepletely unusable. Really disappointed, feel like I got ripped off. ### 1/5 — Seriously flawed product, great marketing. *2017-11-03* As a professional film maker, with a crew and talent and location restraints and client expectations, this software is unacceptable. I’ve been waiting for an update that lives up to the marketing hype (which they seem to be very talented at) but this falls flat on its face once again. The whole approach is seriously flawed and leaves you wondering if any of the interface designers have ever been onset or spoken to people that make their living in this field. We all understand that the bleeding edge has its pains but this really is alpha level product and any purchaser needs to seriously lower their expectations. Furthermore, my experience with support was that when the questions got difficult, the company simply ignored responding. I feel at this point, these young entrepreneurs need to face some serious lessons in how small this world is and that if you tarnish your reputation by rushing your product to market and making false claims doesn’t pay off in the long run. I still hope that they get the message and succeed in making the product useful. As of now, it’s a liability on the set. ### 1/5 — Update Wrecked It. *2017-11-02* Firmware update on the head module and the app does not work. Exits out by itself and it’s very buggy. Wasted a large sum of hours at work trying to troubleshoot. Planned a shoot with shots specifically with use with this product and it failed. Really disappointing after a such a big investment. ### 1/5 — I want to love this *2017-11-02* Edlekron is a company I want to love but they make it difficult. This piece of software is a good example why. Crash after crash is killing me. When you pay over 3k for hardware, the software should be flawless. ### 1/5 — V2 not working *2017-10-26* Updated the app to V2 & only slide will function. Select target gone! Not to mention at their customer service or should I say customer support it’s quick and responsive. Good job you guys at Edelkrone. Asude. ### 5/5 — Initially frustrated....but now very happy. *2018-06-08* It takes a while to get everything working just right...I had to make a lot of adjustments with the motor tension, geared cables, etc...but once you get it ironed out it works really well. My initial frustration has been replaced with satisfaction. Also, make sure you are using this with a proper tripod. The initial reviews about the software/app had me worried but I haven’t run into any app issues. May have taken longer than early adopters would have liked, but this software is solid and with my version of the slider (2.9 ft. slider plus), it’s a delight to use. I’m a one-man operation, and this whole system is working really well, saving me time, helping me get that moving shot that is a cut above. Every once in a while, I have to reboot the app if I’ve walked out of range and the back into range of my kit. Asude ### 5/5 — Edelkrone Fixed the problem *2018-01-30* When I initially brought Edelkrone product, they didn't work as flawlessly as I imagined but some of the blame I take it because I didn't understand the system completely...not to mention the app wasn't running as advertised. But they helped me out explaining what I need to do and how everything works, also they have updated the app and my slide module works flawlessly. And I am pleased with Edelkrone product. My slide module and slider is working as it should...and I am happy with it. ### 4/5 — Love it *2017-08-03, version 1.5* When you leave the app or got a call the application needs to reconnection again with the motion kit and the lock on the target button and focus is in the same line and hardly to adjust focus without touching the lock button Stop motion not working and this feature is very important for me. ### 4/5 — Great app *2017-07-16* Awesome App , pretty genius all round how it talks to the slider. BUT , unfortunately, the latest update has stopped the 'head recoding' feature from working :-(. It makes the A & B sections disappear & time stays on 0% Pleeeease Fix ### 3/5 — Still feels like beta *2017-12-10* So after working out kinks and unplugging and rebooting, I finally got it to work - with one caveat. The motion module is some times a little aggressive. Maybe I need to calibrate it. Will keep trying and hopefully things will work themselves out. ### 3/5 — Everything else works great, BUT... *2017-10-09* Shift target adjustments are very unpredictable and almost impossible to make, when I want to shift a little to the left by hold down or swiping on the control pad, my camera flies 90° up or down. Also, when I hold down the REC button, I can’t record all axis movements (only slide and pan) as if I just tapped the REC button. Will this be addressed in an update or am I doing things wrong? ### 2/5 — Still waiting for a release that will never come! *2023-02-05* You’d think with all the well done marketing and promotion of their products that they’d try their hardest to deliver a reputable product. The fact is, it is NOT! Software issues that never seem to get resolved, tech support that is essentially non-existent and hardware that continuously is unreliable! I’d never be able to bring this on set with full confidence ,as simple camera test in the studio leave us baffled and frustrated! You already have my money, maybe you could apply that to making this product deliver on all your hype. Until then, I’ll make it a point to share with my fellow colleagues to stir wide and clear of Edelkrone products. ### 2/5 — Achilles heel of hardware costing 4+ grand *2018-01-31* The software has gone from utterly unusable to now - abysmal. The most recent version continually reminds me that I must update the firmware of the motion module, which I have done about 20 times. I resorted to deleting the app after updating the firmware, restarting the phone and re-installing the app. This seems to have worked...kind of. The hardware is pretty good (though the motion module is underpowered given the cost). You won’t get the kind of shots they show in their marketing videos of course.
