Decent pricing. I would love the service, IF it actually worked consistently. The only thing consistent about this app is the fact that it crashes every single time I use it. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I have been using Sling TV for around four years now, trying to give it a chance to improve, but the app itself (on my iPhone) is just the jankiest streaming app I have ever used. It’s such a disappointment. I would not recommend the streaming service to anyone if they intend to use their phone or tablet to watch. And what do you mean by“request” when trying to delete account? There ain’t no request about that, it’s a “do it”. Though I can only give 1 star my real review is ZERO stars ### 2/5 — AppleTV remote not working well *2026-08-08, version 9.41.2* This is not about the service it is about the app. If you are attempting to advance or rewind a program using the AppleTV remote, it rarely works. Even pausing the broadcast and moving the cursor then pressing play does not work. Never had this problem with Fubo nor with any other streaming services such as Paramount+. Using your iPhone as the remote is marginally better. ### 3/5 — Cancelled right after I subscribed *2026-08-06, version 9.41.1* I bought the most expensive plan but cancelled when I realized on demand movies have ads. This app streams way better than it used to, but now on demand has ads. Too expensive for that! Tv series no longer have all the seasons and episodes. Very disappointed 😔 I also just noticed movies bleep out bad language. Further, I entered my Zip code and Sling confirmed this series would be available. I bought Sling specifically to watch this series. After buying, the Astros/Rangers game showed “Out of Network” and not available. ### 2/5 — VASTLY different experiences across devices *2026-08-02, version 9.41.1* I have used Sling on my Samsung smart TV, iPhone, and my new AppleTV 4K. As a blind user who requires screen reader support, my experience widely differs across these platforms. The Samsung app is absolutely the most blind-accessible while simultaneously the least stable. On either ethernet or wi-fi, the stream breaks multiple times per day. After about 10 PM, it just won't stream live TV anymore, going back to the app's home screen. If I restart live TV, it will do this again after the current show ends. Last night was the first time in over a year that this didn't occur. But stream has already crashed twice this morning. On iPhone, the app mostly works with VoiceOver, but some controls are either not labeled for screen readers, such as the Account button, or do not respond when activated, such as the Upgrade button when only using FreeStream. I have found the app to be usable, though, with stable streaming on both cellular and wi-fi. On AppleTV updated to TVOS 26.1, however, Sling is unusable. Virtually nothing is properly labeled or announced by VoiceOver, and I can't even navigate to pull up a stream. I gave up after 15 minutes of aimless button pressing with no feedback. Both Apple apps have an issue where VoiceOver reads out the entire hosting URL of any image on which it is focused instead of either a description or what the image represents, such as the title of a show. This makes browsing On Demand or certain other lists virtually impossible for blind users. This does not occur on the Samsung app. Sling is overall a solid live TV app, but there is work to do to ensure that disabled users have a consistent experience across devices. 8-2-2026 Update: I am finally done with Sling. The app on my Samsung TV is more unstable than ever, fully crashing and exiting almost every time a new show starts. During the rare times this doesn’t happen, it often rewinds to the start of the time-shifting buffer instead of going to the next show. The AppleTv app has done little to improve screen reader compatibility for blind users. Many controls, including the program guide, still cannot be identified by VoiceOver. Finally, there is apparently no live support whatsoever. Though it is advertised, the option either doesn’t exist or cannot be identified by screen readers like many controls on the chat widget. So as a blind user, I have no mechanism whatsoever to even have my issues addressed. Sling is a waste of money for blind users. ### 1/5 — Billing Department Does Not Exist *2026-07-29, version 9.41.1* When you have problems with your account, your money is GONE because there is no one to correct anything. Have to manually record programs. Tech support is clueless as to why. Waking up at 5am to start a recording is ridiculous. Raised the monthly price and added a pre-roll ad every time you change the channel. I subscribed to Sling specifically for the Little League World Series and paid for Unlimited DVR because I wanted to save the games and watch them later. Today, the two games I wanted — Japan vs. Curaçao and Nevada vs. Ohio — DID NOT RECORD. I had Little League set to record all games, and tomorrow’s games are still showing as scheduled. I checked Recordings, Replays, and On Demand, and the games are nowhere. Meanwhile, other random programs recorded just fine. What exactly am I paying for if the ONE thing I subscribed for doesn’t record? Extremely frustrating and unacceptable. This is part of the more aggressive sell of your information to advertisers. But it doesn’t work half the time. Any home wiFi is a problem.
