## What is SlowGo?

Now on CarPlay. Plug in and your routes, the turns, and the honest road warnings show up on the cart's screen. Free. No ads. Nothing for sale.

SlowGo is navigation built for golf carts and low-speed vehicles.

Every other map is built to get you there fast. SlowGo is built for slow roads. By default it routes on roads posted 35 mph and under, the LSV line in Florida, and when a faster stretch between 36 and 45 is the only way, it tells you which road, for how long, and what it's posted at, before you leave. SlowGo won't route you along a road it knows is posted over 45. Not a setting. The rule.

Where a golf cart may ride is your county's or city's call, and SlowGo doesn't decide it. Signs and local rules win.

When there is no honest way there, SlowGo says so, and tells you why: the roads are too fast, the map doesn't connect, or we don't cover the area yet. We'd rather send you around a road than down the wrong one.

HOW IT WORKS
- Routes on roads posted 35 and under by default; faster stretches (36–45) only if you turn them on, and always disclosed
- Roads known to be posted over 45: never along your route
- Every route card shows what it's made of: quiet roads, faster stretches, and any miles where we inferred the speed from the road type
- Cart paths first, quiet roads second
- Honest refusals: five kinds of "no," each one explained
- Rides keep going when your phone is locked or CarPlay drops. You'll see the blue location pill while a ride is running.

BUILT FOR THE VILLAGES FIRST
SlowGo covers Florida, Georgia and Arizona, built around The Villages and its cart-path network, with Sun City and the Northwest Valley now on. More states are coming.

ONE SERVER, OURS
SlowGo runs its own routing on speed data we corrected by hand. No third-party map decides your ride, and we know exactly where our coverage ends.

Speed limits and road conditions come from map data. Always verify posted signs and local cart laws before riding.

Life's better at 15 mph.

## Key features

### 5/5 — 5 Stars

*2026-09-16*

Downloaded SlowGo expecting a fairly normal experience. Instead, it has completely changed the trajectory of my life.

Before SlowGo I had a job, friends, hobbies, and a healthy relationship with my family. Now I wake up every morning with one objective: SlowGo

The app itself is genuinely well designed, easy to use, and somehow more addictive than it has any right to be. My screen time is up 46%, my productivity is down substantially, and my family has started asking questions.

Five stars. Great app. Would recommend to anyone except people with responsibilities.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed

*2026-08-25*

Takes the guesswork out of finding legal roads for my golf cart. UI is clean and app works flawlessly

## Frequently asked questions about SlowGo

### What is the primary focus of SlowGo's navigation?

SlowGo is built exclusively for golf carts and low-speed vehicles. It prioritizes routing on roads posted 35 mph and under, ensuring a safer and more appropriate experience for these vehicles.

### How does SlowGo handle roads faster than 35 mph?

If a road segment between 36 and 45 mph is the only option, SlowGo will disclose it before you leave. It will specify which road, for how long, and its posted speed limit. Roads over 45 mph are never part of your route.

### What states does SlowGo currently cover?

SlowGo currently offers coverage in Florida and Georgia, with a focus on The Villages and its extensive cart-path network. More states are planned for future releases.

### Does SlowGo use third-party map data for its routes?

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-10-16

What's new in 1.4

  • Arizona: SlowGo now covers Sun City and the Northwest Valley, along with Florida and Georgia.
  • Fixed: some routes used bike and walking paths where carts aren't allowed. Routes now stay off
paths unless they're marked for golf carts. If a route ever uses an unmarked path, it shows in
amber with a note to check local signs.
  • If a route can't get all the way to your spot, the route card now says how far short it ends.
If the closest road we can use is too far away, SlowGo tells you instead of offering the route.
  • Rename a favorite: in Favorites, tap Edit, then the favorite. The new name shows everywhere,
including CarPlay, and the address stays the same. Search now finds a favorite by the name you
  gave it.
  • The weather forecast shows all of the next 6 hours, its words wrap instead of being cut off,
and it shows a moon after sunset.
  • Tap the SlowGo logo to go back home: it clears your search and any route you were looking at
and puts the map back on you.
  • Turn instructions are never cut off, and screens read better at the largest text sizes.
  • Checking whether paths along your route are marked for golf carts now happens on your phone,
using a list built into the app. Points along your route are no longer sent to an outside map
  service for it.
  • Fixed a crash that could happen if you closed the app while typing a search.

### 1.3 — 2026-10-06

Rides keep going now when your phone is locked or CarPlay drops. You'll see the blue location pill while a ride is running. Before this, a locked phone could freeze your ride. Sorry about that one.

Trip times are fixed. They were showing about 40% longer than the ride actually takes.

Rerouting is a lot better. New routes go the way you're already headed instead of turning you around, they stick to "Slow roads only" if you have it on, and "Hang on, finding a new path" is said once instead of on repeat.

No more "keep waiting or end ride" popping up at long stops. Parked for 15 minutes, the ride ends on its own.

Places that sit just off a quiet road, like Brownwood Paddock Square, now get you most of the way there and tell you why the route stops short, instead of saying NoGo.

Miles left are measured along the road now, and roundabouts tell you which exit.

Works at the biggest text sizes. Before, some buttons got cut off and a few screens couldn't be used at all.

Location fixes. SlowGo won't ask about your location a second time after you said yes. If Precise Location is off, it tells you plainly how to turn it on. And if location is off, it no longer shows you in The Villages or says it doesn't cover your area.

CarPlay works better on more car screens.

Clearer wording about golf carts and LSVs. Signs and local rules always win.

Still working on: on some car screens the speed key can sit under the trip panel for a few seconds. Fix coming.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-26

SlowGo now works with CarPlay. Plug in and your saved places, the route, the turns, and the same honest road warnings show up on the cart's screen. Your phone can stay locked in the cupholder the whole ride.

Plus other bug fixes and improvements.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-09

Small privacy and reliability improvements.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-02

Routes now look for the cart path way first. When a clean
path route exists, you get it.

Yellow warnings now say why - the road is posted 36-45, or
nobody has verified its limit yet. If it says unverified,
ride to the posted signs.

Plus smaller fixes - menu colors, an easier way to add
favorites, and clearer settings.
