## What is SLP Minimal Pairs Lite?

SLP TechTools Minimal Pairs is a speech therapy app developed by speech-language pathologists to target phonological disorders in children, pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade. 

NOTE: The application provides full functionality for Cluster Reduction - one of the eight processes - allowing you to fully test out the application and decide to purchase SLP Minimal Pairs Full, also available on the App Store.

The app includes fun and engaging pictures of 367 words to facilitate discrimination and accurate production of speech sounds. It covers 8 commonly used phonological processes: Final Consonant Deletion, Fronting, Cluster Reduction, Prevocalic Voicing Gliding, Stopping, Depalatalization, Deaffrication and Gliding. 

As an In App Purchase, users can build custom processes with photos from their iPad Camera, Photo Library or Dropbox Account. Spoken word samples are recorded from the iPad.

Three practice formats include: auditory discrimination, contrast drill, and repetition drill. Progress monitoring in client history tracks improvement and allows users to observe improvement over multiple sessions. 

The app gives the therapist maximum control of each session. All buttons are oriented near the therapist and away from the child.  The pictures will not change nor will the voiced word repeat unless the therapist pushes the button.

A picture/word list would be helpful. Also, I was unable to access the help section in this lite version. It would be nice to be able to fully understand the app before buying the full version.

This minimal pairs app is different from the rest because it has the data tracking tools away from the children and lightened to not distract. They face the therapist at the top of the screen. This one is very professional looking, it doesn't have the kid friendly graphics (this may be better for older kids or kids who are easily distracted).  This is a great tool for your iPad!

This app doesn't work with a group of students. The red and green responses for correct/incorrect articulation doesn't work as claimed. When trying to switch to the next word, it lags behind...then it switches to session completed. Please fix the bugs.... I would like to try this before I purchase it.  It doesn't seem to work correctly as claimed!

This app is an extensive but user friendly program to use with a variety of students with phonological process disorders, articulation issues, and or apraxia. The data is easy to negotiate, the pictures are great, and the voice output is clear. The free version gives you an excellent idea of what the full app is like. I highly recommend this app for speech paths in ECSE or elementary schools or clinics.

This free app does just what it says it will do. It lets you test out the format on one target process (cluster reduction) to see if you like it enough to purchase the full version. It doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles, but it has good therapy targets and an easy way to take data. I will probably buy the full version soon...just a little too pricy for an impulse purchase. :-)

This app is just what I was looking for/needing!!  The kids I work with LOVE it, and I love that I have control over the targets and can take data.  The fast pace of the carryover phase is great and the kids love it!  Love the fact that REAL words are used.  It's evident that this app was not only well thought out, but developed by an SLP.  Can't wait to see more apps from this develope

The app seems fine. I dislike the interface, especially how marking a word as correct/incorrect does not automatically advance to the next target word. The pictures are illustrations rather than photographs, which I prefer. I do like the video out option, as well as the ability to add session notes. Overall, however, I was not inspired by the app, mostly due to small personal preferences, not to anything inherently wrong with the app.

Cluster reduction fully worked for me (this is noted in the description).  I like that i have the most control with the app and that the kiddos cannot change screens or pictures easily. Plan on purchasing full app.
