For parents/guardians and students, the easy-to-use app allows users to quickly review any broadcast sent from the SchoolMessenger service (Phone/Email/SMS) in one place, manage your communication preferences and, optionally, Chat with teachers** or report absences.** Requires WIFI or data plan for internet access. Requires SchoolMessenger Communicate service subscription by the school or district. Note: SchoolMessenger Home is used for receiving SchoolMessenger Communicate messages sent by district or school personnel. I constantly get Failed Login. I tried the App and I get Something Went Wrong. The school had reset my info on their end and nothing works. ### 2/5 — UI needs a lot of improvement *2025-09-09* Sadly, it appears this app was designed by people who have never made an iPhone app before. The navigation is unintuitive: buttons are not in typical locations and they behave in ways that aren’t typical. I suggest redesigning this app, and the interface is sluggish as if it were made with a cross platform framework instead of native UIKit or SwiftUI. Oddly though, it’s better than the old School Messenger app, so it gets a star for that. ### 1/5 — Update makes setting time out way more complicated! *2025-09-03* The recent update makes choosing the start and end time for an absence far more complicated and time-consuming. Users need to click on a round “clock”, try to click on the hour nearest to the time, then edit the minutes. Please go back to the old, easier way of simply selecting the hour and minutes from a drop down menu. ### 3/5 — Okay app *2025-06-02* Informative app if you just want to review info sent by schools. Bad if you need to interact with it such as reporting an absence - limited category of absent reasons and time logic designed flaw where absent time can not be earlier than 9:25am.
