## What is SM Offset?

SM Offset is a field calculator built for sheet metal workers, HVAC fabricators, and pipefitters who need exact offset math without the guesswork.

Punch in your numbers and get the cut length, arc lengths, elbow centerline, and total offset length, all in real tape-measure fractions. Built for the shop floor and the jobsite, it works 100% offline. No signal, no problem.

ROUND
• Two-elbow offset — cut joint, elbow takeout, and arc length for a flat offset
• Rolling offset — rise and roll combined into one true offset, with cut length to match

### 1.2.2 — 2026-08-21

New: the Patterns section. Full-scale flat patterns for square-to-round
transitions — laid out, dimensioned, ready to mark and cut. Preview a worked
sample free; the Pro unlock (one purchase, no subscription, works offline) rolls
out shortly.

The free calculators stay free and stay uncapped. They now carry a banner at the
bottom of the screen, and Pro will remove it for good. A banner never blocks a
calculation — no signal, no banner, the tool just works.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-08-07

Fixes account deletion, which failed silently on the last version. Everything
else is unchanged.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-23

• Millimetres. The whole app now works in mm or inches — switch anytime in Settings.

• New fitting: Offset in a Length. A drawing gives you a drop and a length, never an angle — so this one works out the angle and the two brake lines for you.

• Cut lengths to mark on the metal. Pick your connection (S & drive, slip joint, Pittsburgh, and more) and every result also shows the length to actually cut, with the arithmetic spelled out so a wrong number is obvious.

• Duct Resizer rebuilt from the field duct-sizing chart, and it now handles duct up to 42".

• A new app icon.

• A few fixes and polish.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-15

Corrected mitered offset math.

On a mitered offset both miter cuts are parallel — which means the heel edge and the throat edge are exactly the same length. The app was showing them as two different numbers. They're now correct, and the drawing and the numbers finally agree. Thanks to the tinsmiths who called it out.

Also in this release:
• Mitered offsets now give you the miter setback and the cut across the cheek — the marks you actually make.
• Elbow takeout, travel and the multiplier are now on screen for radius offsets.
• Rolling offsets now show the roll angle and the scribe arc around the pipe.
• Too tight for the elbow angle you picked? The app now tells you the angle that DOES fit, instead of just refusing.
• Tight mitered fittings that used to be rejected as impossible now solve.
• Duct Resizer airflow rebuilt from the field duct sizing chart, and it now handles duct up to 42".
• Sign in to sync, send feedback, or delete your account from Settings.
