## What is SmallTalk Consonant Blends?

SmallTalk Consonant Blends is a speech exercise video app. It is designed to help anyone who has suffered a stroke or a traumatic brain injury and presents with aphasia, apraxia, and/or dysarthria. It can also be used by individuals who present similar language impairments.  

The series of individual speech-exercise videos is divided into standard consonant blends and final consonant blends. The videos show the tongue and lip movements necessary to product constant blends like “bl” or “str”.  

You can easily rearrange the order of the videos or remove others to make it simpler to focus on key consonant blends. Repeat each exercise as often as you would like. Then, reset the app to return to original settings.

Surprised that the sound l is pronounced as "luh," and initial blends such as fl, gl are pronounced as "fluh""gluh." L should be a single positioning of the tongue, not two.

Nice videos, clear audio. My only complaint is that some of the demos model unvoiced consonants with an added voiced vowel. "ST" is pronounced S -T- UH. For clients with difficulty in confusing voiced and unvoiced sounds, this might be misleading.

As an Australian Speech Pathologist I would not recommend this app they add vowels to some of the blends. But I do like their small talk phonemes for my children with CAS
