I tried this on 2xiPhones and a iPad running version 4.0.28 I’ve tried reinstalling the app, restarting Bluetooth and wifi, searching within the app manually, set all the necessary permissions all without success. I am unable to change the time to sleep from 14400 seconds to always on. I think when it goes to sleep it somehow corrupts the SOC readout. The app can “see” my BMS but when I connect to it nothing gets displayed. No battery information at all. So disappointed. I’ll never purchase DALY products again. Used to love it. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — A functional app and easy to use *2025-04-16, version 4.0.19* I have used this app since replacing AGM batteries for lithium. It’s neat that it shows the cells within the battery so that you can see how balanced they are. The state of charge is a bit worrying but SoC seems to be not a science as most tools seem to get it wrong. I mostly check the voltage in the app to determine SoC. What would be nice is some way to log the readings. ### 5/5 — I have this app controlling 5 bms *2023-09-22, version 3.0.21* Not sure what all the negativity is. This app works flawlessly. Been using it since 3.0 all the way to the current 3.1.21. If you’re not seeing your bms, it’s most likely off or you need to hit the BT button on the bms. Any 5Amp + charge or discharge will wake up your bms’s BT. I know many android users have issues (my friends can only get their bms to show up on their android half the time while I perfectly see their bms on my screen). But we reviewing the iOS app here and not the android. 5/5 ### 5/5 — Worked first time *2022-05-11, version 1.1.1* Very fast connection and great details ### 4/5 — Works with my Li-Gen *2025-04-29, version 4.0.19* I must say reading the reviews I was very sceptical about trying this out, however one I got it connected to my battery with BMS it seems to be working a treat. Once the app has picked up your battery using the Local Monitoring connection then pressing the plus button it works ok & gives you a lot of information about the battery & the state of charge. You have to be a bit patient when first go into the app & it can take about 10 seconds or so to connect, but I must say at the moment I’m well impressed ### 4/5 — What happens when no internet available. *2025-04-20, version 4.0.19* I have been using the smartbms application since October and it works for the most part. Recently I was using the app outside of internet connectivity and every time I started the application I started getting full screen pop ups indicating that various sites could not be contacted and they seem to be data collection sites. First point, do we need full page error messages for this? Second point does not the developed indicated they are not collecting data? ### 4/5 — Clunky but Feature-Rich and Functional *2023-09-09, version 3.0.21* I’m using the app with an iPhone 2020SE. Integration with this particular iPhone is not 100% with text in places being cut off etc. However, basic functionality is satisfactory (once you figure out the password to access the deeper settings is 123456) and parameters such as maximum current for discharge and charge and various other cell level settings are easily achievable. I found one cable that I had (with type C plug at each end) was not very reliable and caused the display that I got with my Sunbang lithium ion battery pack to malfunction. As ever with these Chinese–originating devices, a proper user manual is non-existent and support generally pretty awful. Little bit rough around the edges, definitely doesn’t feel like an app developed by apple but it gets the job done ### 4/5 — Needs more options but it’s awesome *2022-08-27* Amped to have the ability to see the stats of the battery but would be helpful if it was updating quicker. Also wish you could change the name of each battery. This app would be incredible with a Apple Watch version! Also needs to be able to switch between °C and °F. Would be great if for each cycle you could get a report chart showing it’s voltage sag and temperature fluctuations over time. Also have a place to store notes for each battery and or each cycle. This would also integrate a understanding of how to get the best cycle and lasting performance of each battery short and long term. Need to have a date when it was first cycled. Perhaps sync this app with another activity tracking app like Dawn Patrol to give a more complete analysis of its cycle in use. Maybe have recommendations that appear for each battery after its cycle to help you take better care of your battery.
