When I plug it in, it shows up under the System Information report as iR301 just fine, but this app doesn't list it. Ideas? ### 3/5 — Needs Work *2023-08-02, version 4.0* "Enter the code that is displayed on the reader" is the first issue. 1. there is no "display" on the reader. An LCD display would be sort of handy but... 2. there is no "code". "Enter the PIN that is stamped on the back of the reader" is clearer since it is labled "PIN" on the back of the reader. BUT since a SmartCard has a user entering a "PIN" for the smart card, it would have been wiser to use a different term for this number! ### 4/5 — BT card reader *2023-04-12, version 4.0* The product is great. It does recognize my reader but will not authenticate the certificate on my card. I think it will work if you have a 9a certificate, unfortunately I only have a 9e. I am finally able to use my iPad Pro to access some of my DoD sites. However, for $149, I wish I could be able to access more sites than just 8. Shortcomings: The number of sites currently accessible using this reader is too limited. I need them add more sites such as NROWS, BOL, NSIPS, MyNavy Portal and so on. Please expand the number of enabled sites. ### 1/5 — iOS 16 with SCR3310 Non-functional *2022-09-17, version 4.0* The app has a 10 try limit with third party smart card readers. Just attempting to troubleshoot the capabilities I easily went through these attempts in 30 minutes; it uses an attempt every time you disconnect and reconnect the reader, or even if you switch apps for long enough. Should definitely be a time trial instead. Even after all that, I could not get it to work. I have three separate SCR3310 readers that all function with Windows 11. None worked with a known good lightning adapter. The app sees the reader, but cannot detect a smart card when inserted (whether standard CAC Gemalto or Alt Token). There were a few times it stated the Piv certificate came across as “nil”. Logging also doesn’t seem to work, as enabled the logging section continued to be blank. All testing was conducted with the DoD certs installed per instructions, and with an iPhone 12. It worked well on my older iPhone, but once I upgraded to a newer one the device will not connect to it! I even bought the monthly subscription for 3rd party card readers. I tried MyPay, Webmail, and the Twocanoe test website. None of them worked. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY!!!! Followed all instructions, but no luck. Used up all 10 of the trial uses trying various different techniques. ### 1/5 — Did not work with 3rd party smart card reader *2023-07-04, version 4.0* Although they say it does work with 3rd party smart card readers, I have not gotten it to work with three different readers. I’m grateful they allow 10 attempts to see if it works or not, and while it does read my card and the certificates, I’m unable to access any of the sites I normally should be able to on my iPad Pro M2 running iOS 16.5 at the time of writing. Apple introduced native support for Smart Card readers, however, that also seems to be hit or miss. I’m also not paying $150 for their card reader as that is absurd. Unfortunately, no need to spend the money to use the app long term. Before, I could log on to standard DOD sites but not to my base's virtual desktop through AVHE nor access MHS Genesis electronic medical record and had to use a previous company's software which now got bought out and is no longer supported. Fortunately, through the newly released Feitian iR301-UD-C usb CAC card reader for the iPAD, one can use that reader in conjunction with the TwoCanoes software and the free Citrix for iOS app to logon to one's virtual desktop through AVHE and access one's DoD mail and MHS Genesis through the Safari web browser. The developer has also made it easy to download and install all of the required DoD certificates. Thanks and appreciate the developer continuing to improve this product for mobile iOS users needing a CAC software product to access remotely their DoD apps. ### 5/5 — Works brilliantly *2023-05-15, version 4.0* I have a IPad Air 5th Gen with a Thursby Identiv USB-C reader and I had no problems getting on OWA and myPay. You have to use safari. Easy to use and the literature online is easy to understand and navigate. Great company! So glad I found their Bluetooth reader. Worth every penny. ### 5/5 — GREAT PRODUCT *2022-07-09, version 3.7* Does exactly what it says it will do! I am able to access my OWA email, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive with no issues at all. Now, I’ve only been using the card reader and utility for two days, but so far, so good. If the situation changes, I will certainly update my review. The feature I love most is that the reader is Bluetooth. No “dongles” and bulky card reader/ID setup hanging off the device. I am also a huge fan of not having to use a third-party browser to access any of the apps listed above (I’m a former Thrusby/SubRosa user). Now, I can now use Safari and once I access my work account I am able to see exactly what I see on my workstation in my office. That is a HUGE plus for productivity with the addition of mobility - and everything works! TwoCanoes answers the mail in a very BIG way; Bluetooth device, consistent connectivity and (so far) ZERO access issues at all. Thanks Tim and Team TwoCanoes! ### 5/5 — Bluetooth CAC Card Reader for iOS *2022-03-10, version 3.3* Finally, a product worth reviewing. First and foremost, Tim is wonderful to work with and very quick to respond to requests. But, more importantly, the support he provides is amazing. The good: excellent integration with the PIV/CAC into iOS with out the use of third party application. Supported by militaryCAC.com, they have found a solution and implemented that into iOS. Allowed the native applications within the ecosystem to talk to the reader and use the credentials. The bad: well, it’s goes without saying that you don’t know what you don’t know. There’s is still much to be learned about this as it is new but the good far outweighs the unknowns at this point, and with the support of Tim and his team, I don’t think I’ll have any complaints anytime soon.
