Hard to see where the girl is in the goal because all of inventory shows as “sold”. Also, the app doesn’t integrate with any CC readers, so at booth sales, you end up having to manually type all CC information. Recommend ABC take a look at Traile End app for ideas on improvement next year. ### 1/5 — Non Responsiveness *2021-02-11, version 4.1.0* My mom ordered 100 boxes cookies ($400) on 1/29 and the website indicates all orders will be processed within 72 hours. It’s 2/10 and I still haven’t received any shipping information. When I log into the app it indicates the order has been delivered. I’ve sent multiple emails to the email address on the site and haven’t received a response back!!! We paid $60 in shipping and haven’t received anything. My mom went out of her way to purchase from my kids troop and could have easily purchased cookies in her hometown. These cookies were meant to be Valentine’s Day gifts for her essential workers. This is terrible and Girl Scouts and this crappy website should be ashamed of themselves. It’s one thing to have delayed shipping it’s a whole other thing to have delayed processing of orders. Shame on u and I will no longer be doing business through this venue!!! ### 1/5 — This app is terrible *2021-02-10, version 4.1.0* You have to log in each time and it’s such a hassle. I’m also unable to edit orders to be able to fill in customer’s card details. This needs to be fixed. ### 1/5 — Won’t update sales *2021-02-07, version 4.1.0* I just started helping my daughter sell cookies, and people have been purchasing them through her link. However, it says it last updated her number of boxes sold yesterday at 11:50am. It hasn’t updated since so I have no idea who else has actually ordered anything or how many boxes she’s at now. I keep refreshing the app, the website, logging in and out, installing any updates needed on my computer and phone and still nothing. It’s so frustrating! ### 1/5 — Horrible *2021-02-02, version 4.1.0* This app is horrible. It is not user friendly at all. It doesn’t have the correct totals of boxes sold. Also it doesn’t allow you to choose the rewards as you hit the tiers. For the cookies being their number 1 fundraiser this app is really bad. The candy website was much more user friendly. So many bugs and points of frustration. Rather than type lengthy paragraphs...let’s just write some bullets. - Having to login every time! No remember me feature, no login with thumbprint. So annoying. -no inventory tracking. It would be great if we could log how much inventory we have of each cookie and as we log sales there is real time updates, allowing for ease of balancing. - the gluten free cookie is not even an option in the menu. -the girl delivery order taker is absolutely ridiculous. If my daughter is out selling on her wagon and is tracking her sales, to go through three screens is just ridiculous. And to have required fields such as email is unnecessary and discouraging. What’s the point if 99% of the time we are entering a bogus email address to log the order. -to update an order whether it has been paid and or delivered is just as ridiculous. -the filters are useless, the ability to just see open orders should be an option. While there is value in paid and delivered, she just wants to see what’s open. - this doesn’t feel like an app, feels more like a website converted to appear an an app. -0 stars if possible. -not sure how you continue to make this worse each year, but you are quite successful at it. ### 1/5 — Useless and not user friendly *2020-02-01, version 3.2.1* I don’t know what the purpose of this program/app is for when it doesn’t even count how many orders you Key in?! Not user friendly at all. Waste of time messing with this app. ### 1/5 — Garbage app *2020-01-26, version 3.2.1* This app is complete garbage!! I loved the last app our troop used to take credit card payments (Sage). COMPLETELY frustrating. App constantly freezes. I shouldn’t have to put in the customers email and first and last name. I’ve gotten a lot of complaints from customers about that. Plus it doesn’t accurately keep track of how many cookies you’ve sold. I’ve sold over 200 boxes this season so far and it’s only reading that I’ve sold 45 boxes. ### 2/5 — Card scan still doesn’t work *2020-01-11, version 3.2.1* Second cookie season in a row we’ve been told that you can scan credit cards instead of having to type them in on Apple devices. It still doesn’t work. Like the new booth feature though. It would however be nice to be able to set a quick access button to a given booth so you don’t have as many steps to get back to it. The credit card process already takes long enough ### 1/5 — No credit cards *2019-12-07, version 3.2.0* The credit card feature won’t work! Called smart cookie and their suggestion was to call my council. My council’s only suggestion was to uninstall and reinstall the app. I’ve done that twice and it still doesn’t work. Back to using the Troop Square card reader. This app is terrible! ### 1/5 — Hard to use and ineffective *2019-03-13, version 2.3.2* If I could give this less than one star I would! Last years version was tons better. This version doesn’t do anything easy. Every order must have an email address. Which is not always needed. It doesn’t communicate with our troop cookie person and it doesn’t let you know how many boxes are ordered. We stopped using it and just went old school. ### 2/5 — Needs Major Fix *2019-03-05, version 2.3.2* This is not user friendly at all. It does not give you accurate totals of boxes sold. It only totals what is transferred to the girls the what is sold at booths. It fines not include keyed in orders. And that’s another thing. How is it we can edit anything in the app?! I decided I did not want to key orders in and now it won’t let me delete them. I am a co leader so I tried to go through our leader side of it and there is no option to edit girls orders. Called tech support and that was a waist of time cause it was someone from India that I could hardly understand. At least with the old version we could edit what we as parents enter or make any changes. ### 1/5 — Actually 0 stars *2019-01-27, version 2.3.2* This app gets worse every year, I swear. You can’t do Anything from it this year except see how many boxes sold. No order taking, can’t send emails, and I can’t find the shareable link even when I sign into the program on the computer. Horrible. Just awful. A lot of our friends and family live far away and we rely on this program to help with sales and this may cause my girl to miss her goal. Thanks for nothing, ABC bakers. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — A total failure of an application *2023-04-04* Please spend some of your cookie profits on improving the website and app. It is not in any way designed to support the actual sale of Girl Scout cookies. It is not intuitive—I shouldn’t have to comb through multiple training videos AND consult a network of similarly frustrated troop leaders to figure out how to do simple things like track orders, figure out on-hand inventory, etc. Every action requires about twice as many steps and clicks as should be needed. Data is updated haphazardly, so it is impossible to use the app for any real-time tracking about how things are going. It crashes constantly, including but not limited to in the middle of transactions while customers are standing and waiting for orders to be processed. The “reporting” is a jumbled mess that requires me to do additional analysis to interpret. DO NOT MAKE GIRLS SIGN IN TO THE APP EACH TIME THEY NEED TO DO A CREDIT CARD TRANSACTION. Whoever designed/coded/tested/released this did not understand the assignment. Please spend some time watching actual Girl Scouts and Girl Scout leaders try to use this, and then go back to the drawing board. I have never left a product review for anything, but the atrocity that is this application moved me to make you the first. ### 1/5 — Terrible All The Way Around *2023-02-21* This app is absolutely terrible to navigate. It is not user friendly and way too many steps to create a single order. You cannot sort orders yourself by paid/unpaid or delivered/ordered. There is also no way to edit an order that uses the link and pays by credit card. One of my orders was cancelled for no reason at all because I wasn’t able to approve it! This app has made cookie selling twice as stressful for all of the moms and girls involved. I would select ZERO stars if possible. ### 1/5 — The worst part of my daughter being a Girl Scout is this app! *2023-02-06, version 5.0* This app is absolute garbage! Designers need to scrap both this and the web version and completely start from scratch. Seriously, who approved this? ### 1/5 — Crappy Web View *2023-01-29, version 5.0* If I could give this app a 0, I would. As a Software Engineer myself, nothing makes me more irritated than seeing something like this. It’s a just a web view. They literally just load their website into a view and that’s it. Absolutely awful experience, especially when compared to Little Brownie Baker’s app. I wish the Girl Scouts could choose which baker to use for this reason. Or the Girl Scouts organization as a whole, fund a better experience for their girls. ### 1/5 — Why do I need a parent/guardian to sign me up!? *2023-01-20, version 5.0* The fact that one needs a parent/guardian email to sign up is just ridiculous and so frustrating. The Girl Scouts encourage independence, but this is forcing girls to rely on their parents or guardians! I’m 17! I’m perfectly capable of signing up by myself! I’m sure the app works great, but that’s after you actually GET INTO IT! ### 1/5 — Horrible *2023-01-15, version 5.0* Such a nightmare of an app. Not intuitive at all. Necessary tasks are impossible to do/take forever to find. Lots of useless info about skills girls will learn from selling cookies are shoved into this app - for what purpose? Why are half the tabs useless info like this when you can’t easily manage and see orders easily? I mean, it’s baaaad. ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2023-01-13, version 5.0* This app lacks even the most basic of functionality, like the ability to save login information or to log in with Face ID. It’s incredibly aggravating to use. It’s quite obvious that the creators aren’t interested in improving it and making it more user friendly. Why are the apps and websites for Girl Scouts always the worst and most frustrating part? The curser doesn’t even work in the app when trying to edit type. It forces the app to jump to the bottom of the page. Incredibly irritating! Navigating the app is cumbersome and half the data you need isn’t available. First this is not something I’d use to manage the whole troop. (I’m a Leader) BUT for each of my 3 daughters and individually for many of the other 10 girls in our troop this app is great! Not perfect, but so easy to use! • I love that we can accept CC’s! • That we can enter orders and mark delivered or not. • At delivery choose cash or CC for payment. • I like that the messy order card can be entered into a clean, organized, and reference-able place. (I also like that if a girl enters the wrong type of cookie in a sale, it doesn’t effect the master troop inventory. It’s just a tool to help girls and families keep track and utilize CC sales too.) * Now what I’m not fond of is mainly the need for each sale to enter a email. People don’t want to give that. I would not want to give my email to the many girls I buy from. So I enter my email for all orders (of my girls) and have them sent to a Special Folder in my email. Because it does send a thank you and follow up email later. ### 5/5 — Great App!! *2018-01-12, version 1.5* It’s so easy to use and keep track of the orders! I’m not sure about the other people with bad reviews having trouble signing in. If you’re registered at ABC Smart Cookies you shouldn’t have problems with the app at all! ### 4/5 — Couldn’t log in at first *2018-01-18, version 1.5* Leader login doesn’t work but if you get an invitation to register your scout from your cookie leader you can register your girl individually. This really needs to be made more clear in the description. We don’t use COCO anymore! As for the app itself- it’s working great so far, but our cookie sales don’t start until Feb so I’ll update then. As a side note- it would be nice if there was a leader app. ### 3/5 — Not all features transfer to mobile app/site *2022-01-11, version 4.1.2* For instance I don’t have the option to mimic a user when using the app on my iPhone or accessing the desktop site in Safari. I can only use this feature when on a lap/desktop and as a busy leader and mom on the go I have my iPhone as my phone and computer. ### 3/5 — Needs work *2021-03-04, version 4.1.0* The app works great for taking orders but that’s about it. There is no way to get the cookie by cookie breakdown without opening every order and adding them all up by yourself. Hopefully they will add a reports page in the future to help families keep track, especially if a family had multiple troops within it. ### 3/5 — App is better, but needs tweaks *2021-02-02, version 4.1.0* The app is better than last year, but still needs some improvement. The social media links are odd- they go to the abc cookie pages - and pasting the girl’s link works only for Facebook. The link gets truncated when pasted into an Instagram profile & the abcsmartcookie page only appears to allow people to log in. They do not appear to be able to search for a girl to buy cookies. In the app, the girls can’t view order details without going through edit mode. After any look or edit of anyone’s order, an update email is being sent to the first contact I entered- not sure if it goes to the email on the actual order updated. (Thankfully, the one getting every update is my email.) Also, we have GF cookies to sell, but these appear to be a selection option only for mail order cookies. We are unable to select them for the girl delivered cookies. The dashboard doesn’t credit the sales to the girl until a troop leader goes in to transfer cookies to that girl. Anytime we order more cookies, the troop leader also has to remember to enter this in the app under the girl. ### 3/5 — Notifications *2020-02-06, version 3.2.1* It would be helpful to receive notifications (either via text or email) to notify you that an order has been placed! ### 3/5 — Good, but needs some upgrades *2018-02-15, version 1.5* This app has a lot of good functionality- you can easily track unpaid & undelivered orders, export sales to a file to see overall totals, easily enter sales and see progress toward overall sales goals. I would like to be able to input ‘other sales’ in the app, so I don’t have to toggle to the website, and it would be nice to see how many boxes I’ve received/have on hand. Love cookie share!! ### 3/5 — Email Receipts & Log In Issues *2018-01-22, version 1.5* Whereas this app worked very well before, somehow I’ve encountered issues with logging in and sending email receipts. Please fix!
