Newer model getting error 2002 session expired, can’t get sms activation code, can’t log in. ### 1/5 — Worst app and sign up process *2024-10-18, version 1.3.6.26* Been on phone support twice - haven’t had success to be able to log in to web browser mini hub address. RIDICULOUS Apparently I don’t have to even though I have emails asking me to. AMEX reached out for me to do a dummy transaction to test their cards on the hub. IT ISNT POSSIBLE TO DO A MANUAL TRANSACTION. Next level of stupid right there. PASSWORDS and all the usual things just not working. PINS not sending Can’t manually add a payment with card details. Going to SQUARE… ### 1/5 — Don’t use this *2024-08-12, version 1.3.3.26* I’ve had issue after issue with this, I even went out and got a new phone because the customer service representative at the bank told me that my other phone was too old to connect to it!! After getting my new phone IT STILL DOESNT do what it’s supposed to do!!!! If your planning on using a device for the convenience due to various locations….find another provider or just get people to do a bank transfer….this is going back to the bank and I’m getting a refund!!!! ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2024-07-31, version 1.3.3.26* Smart mini received, can’t login in to the app it says session expired, spoke with support they couldn’t help and said it was an ongoing issue. It just says “session expired” and the customer support said that it’s a bug and there’s nothing they can do. Wish I had checked the reviews earlier. Literally the most appauling experience from commbank, the customer service was nice however the app efficiency and accessibility is non existent. Keep getting an error message saying timed out. What a joke ### 1/5 — Unable to log in *2024-04-03, version 1.3.1.26* Log in and activate for second PIN code and session expired well done commonwealth bank ### 1/5 — Full of glitches *2024-02-17, version 1.3.1.26* As previous users mentioned, the app log’s itself out during payments. Customers get charged double or payments disappear. There’s zero battery life on the reader, so I have it always on charge. I have my square reader as backup, which is more expensive but obviously you get what you pay for. ### 1/5 — The worst app I’ve ever used *2024-02-17, version 1.3.1.26* Can you imagine going to a market, taking payments and selling your products all day.. just to find out that payments haven’t even been processed and customers not charged? This is the worst app I’ve honestly ever used in my lifetime. It doesn’t work whatsoever. Constantly logs you out everytime you attempt to take a payment and when you CAN login without getting a constant error, you’ll find it hasn’t even taken the payment despite the card being tapped or inserted and processing the payment. This app is an absolute appalling addition to be advertised by Commbank and should NOT be allowed to continue to be advertised as a merchant payment option, as it’s an unreliable device due to its app. I assume based on the reviews this won’t change ANYTIME soon— and that they don’t care. So i’ll be closing my business account and chucking this piece of junk in the bin where it belongs and go back to my Square Reader. ### 1/5 — Unreliable. *2024-01-24, version 1.3.1.26* The app always randomly logs me out, out of no where. Sometimes it just decides to not work and will not connect. It always take ages to connect. Always disconnects itself. I had it replaced and it’s still doing the same thing. Very unreliable app and product unfortunately. It’s not a one off thing. It’s most days. There has been multiple times where it says error, declines, asks clients to insert or try again, and double charges them! I also wish the transaction history was more clear and easy to use. I didn’t even realise I double charged someone until that night when I got the notification, and to make it way more embarrassing I also asked her to transfer me the money because it didn’t go through. So I almost triple charged a client! ### 1/5 — Session expired. *2024-01-03, version 1.3.1.26* I could get as far as getting activation code, I put it on and then it says session expired. Customers hate entering their PIN on my mobile, and I don’t like having to hand over my phone for the same. ### 1/5 — So much potential *2024-11-01, version 1.3.6.26* The app has so much potential - but basic features lacking. E.g. Set ‘default’ price. At an event where every single person needs to pay $10, there should be an easy way to have $10 as the default amount rather than having to manually enter the price for every single transaction. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Getting better *2025-11-11, version 1.3.8.26* CBA banking is very slick. The Smartmini card reader, generally speaking, works very well. The PoS experience is very good. I’ve found out that by inserting the card, Cheque, Savings or Credit can be selected as opposed to the tap option which is just Credit. However, where is the history of all transactions? Maybe not all transactions but certainly the last week or so. Only transactions for the current day are shown. I would like to go back at least over the last month. Connection is now much better than before since I upgraded to the new USB-C Smart mini. Much better than old micro-USB version. ### 3/5 — Deprecated before release *2021-12-22, version 1.0* This just appears to be a pointless app that achieves nothing that cannot be accomplished via the main app ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2024-10-06, version 1.3.3.26* I got the Smart Mini specifically to use at markets etc for my art business. It was really embarrassing when it failed and immediately logged me out during the process of taking a payment from my first customer. Not happy with it at all. ### 2/5 — very disappointed *2024-09-10, version 1.3.3.26* I started using the Smart Mini because it has a lower surcharge compared to other readers. However, every morning, I encounter payment errors, which forces me to apologize to my clients when their payments don't go through. The reader either logs me out or fails to pair with my device. This is my second reader, as I had to replace the first one. I am very disappointed and will be switching back to a reader from another company. ### 2/5 — Not so smart *2023-10-30, version 1.3.0.26* Unfortunately the app has been unable to be opened due to “the app has encountered an error, please try restarting the app”…. It’s been saying that for 2 days now and Comm Bank support have no idea why. It times out, so you have to continuously keep re-logging in also. When the app actually opens, it’s good to do the bare minimum… for more advanced requirements, stick to the square. ### 2/5 — Smart Mini *2023-10-20, version 1.3.0.26* There are many things still to be improved, you need 2 different apps to check transactions, and it doesn't accept all types of cards. If you turn off and turn on the device, you will need to connect the app to the terminal again because it does not automatically recognize it. ### 2/5 — It’s not great. *2023-09-06, version 1.2.2.26* The app hasn’t worked for 3 days now and it’s often glitchy. I also hate that I can’t check transaction history or create reports like on the square. I go back to my square sometimes.
