The glitching app that shuts down half way through explaining something for the 3rd time or the typical lazy oz customer service where nobody reads your question because they are lazy. It’s the whole “I dunno” rather than “I’m not sure, BUT LET ME FIND OUT FROM SOMEONE WHO DOES KNOW SO YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY” Laziness. Apparently this has been glitching for years? Loan settled an hour ago and I’ve already had a bad first impression. I literally planned the full day with my dying mother to take her out of hospital for the day because I confirmed that the card will be activated after settlement. When someone asks when a card can be activated this obviously implies that it needs to be activated to be used!! Instead they tell you when it’s a active but not that there will be a 3 day delay. This was not communicated previously nor picked up on when I messaged them asking about activation! A simple “technically it will be active but you won’t be able to use it for 3 days” wouldn’t be rocket science! I assumed it was too good to be true and everytging was going suspiciously smooth! But alas at least Australian customer service reps are consistently bad. ### 3/5 — GUI needs an update *2024-12-31, version 1.69.0* It’s overall OK, but the app has a few things that make it a mediocre user experience: 1) Every time you login, it prompts you to change your password. WHY?! 2) The way you get to your balances or view your information is way too clunky. 3) If it’s a basic loan, certain features should just be not ‘clickable’… tapping in to dead-ends within an app is frustrating. 4)Payments IN to loan accounts take DAYS to appear. It’s not 1980. 5) Changes made in the app to direct debits in the app DON’T STICK. You still need to call. WHY?! ### 1/5 — Stay away please! *2024-10-12, version 1.67.1* When you chat with the agent, after sometime the app will kick you out. Now redo the same thing with a new agent. By the time you reach the app will kick you out again. ### 1/5 — The smart money app doesn’t open *2024-06-03, version 1.64.8* It’s been more than two weeks since the app is not functioning. It comes blank. I have contacted the company through chat, phone, and email. But no proper progressive response. They only say the IT department will fix it but no improvement. It’s frustrating. I didn’t expect such kind of delay in fixing an app from this reputed financial institution. ### 1/5 — Poor App Interactive Experience *2024-05-30, version 1.64.8* The app looks user friendly enough, but then when you actually go to use the tab or do what you want to do you can’t! In my experience I was unable to select the tab to add a new Payee, just wouldn’t allow me to open the tab? I can’t seem to edit already added payee details either, there’s just an information icon which does nothing. The app seems to shut down with it apparently stuck on the “loading” screen after a certain length of time using the app and you have shut it all down and log back in. This has been very frustrating! ### 1/5 — Transaction errors *2023-12-12, version 1.58.8* Be wary when making transactions! If an error message popup is displayed and you don’t get put through to the successful transaction stage, your transaction may have gone through. Don’t try again like I did 😭. Call loans.com.au to see if it went through. ### 1/5 — Worst Finance App *2023-09-17, version 1.58.0* This is just a terribly written application. It simply cannot recover from being suspended. If you ever open the app and see a white screen, just force quit and reopen the app; it won't ever recover. It also takes 20-25 seconds to authenticate and get to the point where you can use the app. Every other finance/banking app can do that in 4-5 seconds at most. Not sure who has developed this app, but they need to get a lot better. ### 1/5 — Shocking customer service. In-app chat function useless *2023-09-15, version 1.58.0* This bank makes it impossible to get hold of someone if they have charged you incorrectly. I connected to the in-app chat and was disconnected FOUR times after the chat operator said they were transferring. Another two times, the app times out because the chat operator took SO long to reply / transfer me. When the app timed out and I logged back in, the chat had erased itself and I had to restart the whole process again. I also followed customer service instructions to update my own direct debit bank details. After I did so, they changed the bank details and my car loan frequency repayment without my authority and started deducting my loan amount from a different offset account that is a completely separate account to my car loan account (the two were never given permission by me to be linked).
