It’s a decent reversi game. Not sure if the computer opponent levels up well or not. The skill levels quickly jump up too high at teacher level and you won’t be able to win 1 game in 10. I’ve been playing against AI and am consistently challenged, even on the student level. Everything works as it should, making for a smooth and pleasant experience. And all for a reasonable price. I really appreciate the developer making it available with no ads/no subscription. It’s well worth the price, thanks! ### 5/5 — Best Othelo Reversi game in the App store *2020-05-05, version 3.0.2* There are not a lot of users yet so you might have to wait a while to paired with an opponent, but this is the best-written Reversi/Othelo game in the app store. When playing solo (against the computer) the computer really is "smart" as the name suggests. Thanks! ### 1/5 — App freezes when Game Center is enabled *2021-03-01* This is a great othello game , but lately the app freezes on launch if Game Center is enabled. Uninstalling the app and reinstalling may make it work for a game or two, but then it starts freezing again. Signing out of Game Center in the iOS settings resolves the issue, but I like to use Game Center. Please fix. Once you do, this app will get 5 stars. Frozen with “signed in as ....” across top of screen **Developer response:** This hang with Game Center has been fixed in SmartOthello 3.1.2, available now. ### 1/5 — You can’t play a friend *2020-03-30* Unfortunately I can’t find a way to invite a friend to play this game with me. **Developer response:** To start a game with a friend, tap on New Game, then choose Game Center at the top. Then tap on Match, and you'll see you a popup with recent players. If your friend is listed there, great, otherwise, tap on Invite Friends at the bottom, and it puts you into Messages, where you can send an invitation to your friend. It gives me tips and an undo button so I can learn from my mistakes! The bots are actually challenging! Das deaktivieren des Game Center’s sollte über die Settings möglich sein. Warum gehts das nicht??? 21.06.2023 Also das mit dem Hängenbleiben ist immer noch da. No one from our othello club could beat it so far. What I like best is that this engine does play very naturally, like a human player would ! It’s beautiful! Maybe you know those Otello computers where the point comes that you can’t move and the computer does 20 or so moves in front of your eyes - and wins.
