### 3/5 — CSP170 (2019) Very good but never perfect, always enjoyable, and very clever.

Since new purchase in 2017 we have greatly enjoyed the combination of CSP170 with iPad Pro (12”). 
Really worth the 12” if you possibly can. 

All the music delivered with the App is of excellent quality for piano score and performance standard. 

Note - there are several different types of downloadable music from the Yamaha store and you should be aware what you are buying. Some is really just to play and enjoy listening too (e.g. The Greatest Showman), some is PDF that’s quite basic and some is of a similar nature to the tracks embedded in the SmartPianist App. 

Downloads from other sources do of course depend totally on the quality of the score and/performance - so it’s good to experiment with free/low cost downloads to find your way around. 

Using music from iTunes or just bringing in downloaded tracks or tracks from CD’s etc is OK but the same as original (and expensive) Yamaha material. 

I’d recommend maintaining notes of your sources of music and how you rate them. 

Overall, a superb addition to a household of ageing, enthusiastic, mediocre but used to be quite good pianists. 

Always sure to provide entertainment at a gathering. 

Well done Yamaha, it’s a brilliant concept, keep developing and test, test, test before going public.

Cette application ne me sert à rien, alors qu’il serait si simple de programmer des mémoires de configurations !

Piano room et autres différemment réglés par l’utilisateur et avec des sauvegardes nommables et facilement récupérables…

Par exemple et selon chacun pour casque, bas volume, baroque, romantique, jazz…

I have this app on my new iPad Air 2026.  Whilst my Yamaha CLP885 connects to my iPad via Bluetooth in the iPads settings.  The app refuses to connect however.  I have implemented all advice re turning Bluetooth on and off etc all to no avail.  It works fine with my ancient android phone! Am now going to have to try to connect to my iPad with a cable.  It seems that this app does not work with the latest breed of iPads.  Please fix this.

When the device plays the piece, it always misses out the trills and doesn’t play very smoothly. Please can you fix this in the future? Otherwise, it is good.

Bluetoothとの接続がもっと簡単になれば最高。

The app doesn’t seem to connect to, or at least show the full menu for most of its pianos… CVP 809 doesn’t show hardly any of the menu icons, no styles, voice or even the CFX icon. The DGX 670 doesn’t have hardly any access and their flagship P-525 doesn’t seem to have any menu icons available either. Very disappointed with all the hope of what it can do but it actually doesn’t do it for any of the above mentioned.

Habe ein P-515. Auf einmal fehlt das Styles-Icon im Menü. Vor einer Woche funktionierte das noch. Trotz Neuinstallierung keine Chance mehr.

The app is good, we all need it for a cvp150 etc or for that range…..but they never did the features that are needed…when playing a song on a Cavinova you setup instruments and one touch changes between playing one set to another…..your playing piano and strings and 1 touch your then playing the brass section………also they haven’t really bothered with recording……why not let me edit and record easier on different midi channels……now the worse bad thing is ,down load a midi song and the follow the lights can only show you 1 midi channel, you can’t change, so most of the time you can only learn one part and most people put the wrong or not a main part of the song on the only part the app can show you.

Basic errors…….could easily be a perfect app,  the pianos can do it all, it’s the programming…..wish I could go back to a clavinova…

ユーザーのことをまったく考えられていない、信じられないくらい分かりにくいUI/UX。直感的ではないし、言葉のチョイス、動線も最悪。
よく分からないタイミングで本体との接続が切れる。
ピアノ本体のメニュー操作がめちゃくちゃやりにくいので、スマホ操作したいのに全然できない。
ユーザーソングの編集がしたいだけなのに、やり方が全然分からないし、そもそもできるのかどうかもあやしい。

iPadでこれまで使えてたのに、突然使えなくなった。
なんだこれは。
電源オンオフした時だけ接続のアイコンが反応するけど、有線には全く反応しない。
これまでは古いiPadつけたら古くて対応できませんなどのコメントがあったがそういうこともなく完全無視。
iPhoneも同じ。
割とこの機能を期待してキーボード買っただけに、使えないならキーボードを返品させてほしい。
他のレビュー見ても同じような書き込みがちらほら。
これまあまあなクソアプリじゃね？

Seit der neuen Version wird beim Spielen von pdf-Noten mit Guide nicht mehr angezeigt, wo man sich gerade befindet und es wird ich nicht mehr automatisch gescrollt. Eine absolute Verschlechterung! Zudem ist die zum Lernen sehr hilfreiche Guide-Funktion nun im Untermenu untergebracht worden und dadurch nur durch einen zusätzlichen Klick zu erreichen. Auch eine Verschlechterung der Bedienbarkeit.

Bitte liebes Programmiererteam bringt erstere Funktion (Autoscrollen bei pdf-Noten) wieder rein und bringt auch den Guide-Button wieder in die Bedienleiste über den Noten.  

Bitte auch bei dem bewerteten Vorspiel das Autoscrollen zumindest nach der eingestellten Taktgeschwindigkeit reinbringen, das Umblättern mit Pedal ist zwar gut, aber man muss auch des Öfteren zurückblättern.

So ist die App ein absoluter Rückschritt zur vorherigen Version, die ich jetzt versuche wieder zu installieren.

This app is a huge disappointment from an accessibility standpoint. I am completely blind and rely entirely on Apple’s VoiceOver to use iOS apps. Unfortunately, this app is poorly labeled, difficult to navigate, and often unusable with a screen reader. Basic controls are unclear or inaccessible, making core functionality frustrating or impossible to reach.

Accessibility is not a niche feature. Blind and visually impaired users also want to learn and enjoy music, including the piano. When accessibility is ignored, an entire group of users is excluded.

This is not a minor issue. Proper VoiceOver labeling and navigation are fundamental requirements on Apple platforms. I strongly urge the developers to address these problems and bring the app in line with Apple’s accessibility guidelines. Until then, this app cannot be recommended to blind users.

J’ai découvert le mode. PDF avec notation des doigts. Il manque peut être un soutien en ligne, à moins que je ne sache pas le trouver, avec le piano numérique Clavinova, indisssociable 🎶

Je n’ai pas d’autres mots 
Cette application est la meilleure application piano qui existe.. et de loin !
Alors que d’autres applications se contentent de montrer la progression d’une partition sur un clavier et en sorte demandé à singer la partition, celle-ci garde l’approche professionnelle qui demande à lire la partition 
Merci aux développeurs

La seule chose qui pourrait être améliorée est le suivi du jeu 
Dans beaucoup de situations lorsque l’on apprend la partition le curseur avance tout seul alors que l’on a joué la mauvaise note 
Il faudrait un mode rigoureux qui exige le jeu de la mesure à la perfection

After update to version 3.9 my imported sheet music is no longer playback correctly. Prior to updates it was not the case.

Seems like F minor key is tricking the app and it doesn’t play it well.

Developers please stop backing the app as it was way stable few years ago.

The Smart Pianist is really good app, the only cons is the fact that if you leave the application it does not stay connected in the background. When connected with WiFi to a piano is reconnects constantly , when we navigate to other places in the app or outside it. I still give it 5 stars because it is really an amazing experience to enjoy the Piano, with the demos songs, the bonus music. Well designed and easy to navigate.

I think that being able to record a song of your own is amazing. 
I love playing the piano at home and at my music school.
But the Yamaha app gives me the ability to record songs and also chose the kind of style that you want. I think the Yamaha app is super.

J’adore cette application pour la lecture des partitions avec mon clavier ps500 qui a la fonction streamlight, c’est vraiment génial pour moi qui suis débutant.
De temps en temps certaines partitions ne sont pas lues et font buguer l’application, mais c’est moins de 5 pourcents je pense. 
Sinon question:
Comment fait on pour s’enregistrer quand on utilise le mode flow ( celui qui indique les notes à jouer)? Je n’ai pas trouvé. Merci.
