Instead it will scan and print documents already on my computer and I can’t understand how that is called “scanning” instead of “printing.” It doesn’t scan as implied in the name of the app. I wasted my money. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback, and I’m sorry for the confusion. The macOS version of the app doesn't support direct scanning from the printer at this time. However, you can scan documents using your iPhone or iPad, then easily access those scanned files through the Mac app for printing or organizing. This new one, an XP-8800, does not measure up to the others. As a simple printer it works beautifully. However, the fact that it requires an additional app in order tp print from an iPhone or IPad is unacceptable. Particularly when it appears, according to your website, the apps are not compatible with this printer. There is no way to report a bug and/or talk with someone else about it or get a refund. i have had this installed less than one hour and i tried everything to make these features interact with each other and the printer ### 1/5 — Epson 2980 on an iMac *2026-07-02* Brand new to epson printers, very difficult setup instructions. Poorly done. Now into 4th hour of set up and is finally doing an 11 min initialization process. Had to call epson tech support. They were nice but not friendly. You do need to download drivers from Epson so to update printer to latest driver version, that is not noted on any single sheet of printer instructions.
