## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — This is not it.

*2023-01-16, version 6.2.2*

I was looking for a simple sugar counter as I’m trying to limit my intake. This is not it. Ads at the bottom don’t bother me, but the fact that doing almost anything in the app requires a purchase of the “full version” is very irritating. Almost every thing you try takes you to the purchase screen. Also, not at all intuitive. Adding a simple 3 grams of sugar to your daily count means trying all kinds of buttons to change from spoons or oz to grams and then it still takes trial and error to get it entered correctly. Not simple at all. I searched and found another app that’s a “sugar tracker” and it works so much better!

### 1/5 — Horrible options, even in the paid version

*2022-03-31, version 6.2.2*

The preprogrammed options are so bad in this app. For example if I type "egg" the first results are all products with egg in the name. I think apps like noom are much better for tracking nutrients. Don't waste your money.

### 1/5 — Says free but keeps going to charge

*2022-02-11, version 6.2.2*

Can’t figure it out how to work it free and keeps trying to charge me. Stupid and misleading

### 1/5 — Unable to edit wrong entry

*2019-07-30, version 5.2*

Would not allow error correction. Had issue within a few minutes of using. Not user friendly.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t function well

*2019-01-16, version 4.3*

I paid to access all the food options and after paying, the majority of options were still not selectable. Even after killing the app and starting over, I still couldn’t select even basic foods to get started (chicken, raspberries). I feel this was a waste of money.

**Developer response:** After pay you get access to the full food list shown in the app. If you can’t add food, click the “Restore purchase” button at Full version screen. If you have any problem, please contract us at email vicvikh@gmail.com

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2019-08-17, version 5.2*

I spent the extra $2.99 on the full app thinking the reason it wasn’t so good was because of the limited function. All it did was open up some generic foods with what is probably the average of what similar foods have. I realize there is a way to enter the sugars in the food, however there is no way to differentiate “Added” sugar. Eddie the developers interpret that the wrong way like I’ve see. In many responses to other reviews; “Added sugar” is sugar that is added to the food by manufacturers to make their food more palatable. The other reviewers that complain about “no way to track added sugars” are not saying there is no way to track “added sugar”. Also if you want to get a good idea of how you’re doing with a diet you’re going to have to add all your food manually. This app has no database of foods sold in stores. For example you can’t look up jiffy or Peter Pan peanut butter. I’m really disappointed that I paid for the full version.

### 2/5 — Does not track added sugars

*2019-06-28, version 5.2*

I’ve been looking for an app that just tracks a few nutrients that I’m interested in (added sugars and fiber, specifically). I’d even be willing to enter the actual amounts rather than a list of foods.

I was pretty disappointed by this app. My main disappointment is that it does not track added sugars. This seems dangerous to me, since treating added and natural sugars the same steers users away from healthy choices such as milk and whole fruit.

I was also frustrated by the limited food database. The non-customized food and drinks are mostly behind a paywall. Even after paying, there is no way to use bar codes or brand names to find the most accurate information; a popsicle can have between 0 and 17 grams of sugar, but the only way to specify is by changing the size in ounces.

Worse, you have to pay to create custom foods, and the creation process is annoying. The name space is quite short; good luck getting “Chocolate Covered Banana” in there, much less “Dole Dark Chocolate-Covered Frozen Banana Slices”. The units are only in ounces/grams, rather than the easier-to-calculate per piece, per bar, per square, per 14 chips. I also was unable to find a way to edit or replace a custom food that had a typo or inaccurate information.

I think this app should either have a better food database or greatly improve the Custom Food option.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. The app has some features that you mentioned, we are sorry if it wasn’t clear enough.
- To enter the actual amounts of sugar rather than a list of foods: press “Add food” on the main screen and select category “Sugar”.
- To select various unit conversion (spoons, cups, slices, etc.): press “Add food” on the main screen, select product, then by taping on food image (left one on the top) there would be different measurement options.
- To edit or replace a custom food: select “Editing the food list” on the setting screen.

In accordance with the recommendations of WHO (Fact sheet N°394 updated September 2015), app helps to control the intake of free sugars (not fiber).

We are planing to add some of features you mention in review in future versions of the app.

### 4/5 — Sharing Food Not In Database

*2021-03-14, version 6.2.2*

I am new to cutting out sugar. I like the idea of the app. I only gave it 4 stars because when there is a food that’s not in the database, it would be nice to take a picture of it.

### 4/5 — Good.

### 4/5 — Easy to use.
