Also NV energy routinely sets my thermostat to 88 degrees themselves during the summer. I have pets and work from home. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2022-05-03, version 137* Renting a house with an NV energy thermostat. The old tenants Settings are saved and the AC goes on at midnight and 6 am and I can’t reset the setting. The app/ website doesn’t let me register and when I call their system hung up on me. This ridiculously bad, this system that is supposed to save energy is wasting energy. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work. *2022-04-08* Whenever I try to change the settings via my app, it does not work. It will temporarily change but then always reverts back to my original settings. When ever I try it gives and error message and snaps right back to the setting before. Something is horribly wrong. I had to uninstall it 3 times to try and change it. Still having issues. My app keeps setting my temperature to 83. I reset it, deleted and reinstalled the app, reset WiFi, tried to call NV energy. After being on hold for tech support a message states the party you’re calling is unavailable and to leave a message, WHAT!! Most of the time the settings I put in on the app don’t ever go through and it just reverts to your old settings or makes up its own settings. I keep my thermostat high in the summer, like 80 to 82, but NV energy will still bump my thermostat up to 84 on its energy saving days. I can understand doing that to people who have their thermostat set to 60s or 70s, but not when it’s already at 80. Trying to kill my pets? Also enjoy changing the temp from my bed... wow I’m lazy. This app is great! Easy to use. I usually leave my unit off when I’m not home. It has saved us so much on our electricity simply because we can control the temperature from anywhere. We were going to a friend’s house the other night and realized we left the AC on and were able to turn it off where normally that would have been on for 5-6 hours cooling NOBODY. The app is responsive and works instantly! Last year in June our energy bill was over $230 where we just got an email saying our energy bill is projected to be under $120 this month!! ### 4/5 — Okay— but older thermostats stopped working *2021-10-22, version 137* The app is okay and has worked well for me over the past four or five years, but recently (as of Oct-2021), the older thermostat I have installed stopped responding. Turns out it’s an issue with all of the old ones so they’re replacing it ✨for free✨. For those complaining about the app changing the temp, you have to go into the app and check your schedule. It’s likely on a schedule that you can adjust. Also you can opt out of energy events using the app or by changing your temp on the thermostat. I like participating in events because it helps the environment by reducing the amount of electric demand at peak times so they don’t have to use as much less efficient backup generators. Give it a shot, it’s a good FREE alternative to Nest IMO. ### 3/5 — App updates *2020-11-20, version 137* Had a update on my phone 11/19 now I can not open the App. I punch it and the app just shuts off. However, my setup gripes (recommendations) are they there does not need to be so many limits on a software app. In setting the times you are limited to half-hour increments. Why not any time on the clock? Why only 4 time segments? Why just set 1 temperature and not a range of temps?
