## Newest reviews (16 of 28)

### 1/5 — Full of bugs since iOS 17.5.1 update

*2024-06-21*

Unreliable, crashes, and full of bugs since last iOS update (17.5.1) Continually shows error message “Operating failed.” (sic). Apparently it’s a known, widespread problem amongst customers but given the fact the app hasn’t been updated for 2 years, I’m not very confident we’ll see a fix anytime soon.

### 1/5 — Never works

*2024-02-07, version 2.0.4*

Just won’t connect to the alarm to set or unset. Banham should not claim what they can’t deliver. Bad quality.

### 1/5 — iPhone Upgrade Nightmare

*2024-02-05*

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 12 to an iPhone 15, and noticed that notifications no longer worked. I called Banham for advice. After a 45 minute attempt to repair the operability of the app, I was told they would need to delete my account, wait 24 hours, and set up a new account. I see Banham has not updated the app for two years. It seems a pretty poor interface for what should be a premium service.

### 1/5 — Historic brand, awful app

*2024-01-19*

This is a truly terrible app, particularly when you consider the cost of an annual Banham membership. It barely works. Those in charge of the company should be ashamed of how this is what their customers use daily to engage with their service.

### 1/5 — Woeful App

*2023-04-05*

Slow, has to reconnect, sometimes doesn’t work at all, pointless alarm upgrade with useless customer service, don’t bother

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2022-06-17*

App seems to have stopped connecting to alarm properly. The app records when the alarm is set and unset but no longer allows any setting or unsetting via the app. Doesn’t connect to device.

### 1/5 — Stuck on Retrieving device information

*2021-10-16*

It’s been weeks since I haven’t been able to access my alarm remotely, despite it being connected via Ethernet to a very robust broadband. The app gets stuck on retrieving device information, then shows the error message reconnect.
App is up to date, phone is up to date and rebooted, please sort it out

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2021-06-15*

Really slow to turn the alarm on and off, with a constant wheel of doom.

Also, when you have turned the alarm on or off the ‘confirmation’ message says ‘Connection failed, retry’. Not very user friendly as it looks like an error! You end up having to go back to the place you turn the alarm on or off in order to see if turning on/ off has worked properly! Please just add a proper confirmation message.

### 1/5 — Appalling

*2020-12-05*

The Banham app is appalling. Clunky, temperamental and so slow. Compared to the simple fob you get from ADT, the Banham app makes it so hard (and slow) to set and unset the alarm. If you’re considering Banham as an alarm provider - don’t. Until they sort this app out I would go elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Terrible for such an expensive service

*2020-08-25*

For such an expensive Alarm, the app is appalling. It simply never works, constantly crashes or logs you out. You would think that Banham would have made it a priority to provide a better service. I would never recommend them

### 1/5 — Appalling

*2020-08-23*

Useless waste of time. Doesn’t log you in and whenever you manage to log in it then logs you out. Absolutely shocking. Hands down the worst app I’ve ever had to use - and the worst part? You’re charged £30 a month to use it. Even Banham’s own staff have recommended us not to use it when you call the support line.

### 1/5 — App upgrade

*2020-06-16, version 2.0.0*

Regrettably the upgrade has removed my ID and device details arghhhhhh. Prior to the upgrade it used to throw you out when unsetting the alarm

### 1/5 — Truly awful

*2020-06-12, version 1.0.0*

Not even worth 1 star. Keeps logging out. Impossible to navigate and not intuitive. Please get a credible app developer to work on this Banham.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2020-06-07, version 1.0.0*

Come on Banham, sort it out. Fails to login or connect every time.

### 1/5 — Totally useless

*2020-01-14, version 1.0.0*

Most expensive alarm company with worst app!!! As soon as I set alarm it logs me out... so then you have to log back in to check it’s set or unset! Always crashes worst worst worst! Sort it out banham

### 1/5 — Virtually useless

*2019-11-23, version 1.0.0*

The app is basically useless for setting it resetting your alarm. Technical support is only available during office hours, so be careful if you have problems outside of office hours!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-04-03*

This is the worst app I’ve ever had to use. It constantly disconnects. I wish I’d got an alarm from another company. The alarm app we had before using Banham worked perfectly.

### 1/5 — Like pulling teeth

*2026-03-13*

This is the most frustrating app I have and is clearly not ready for use. It takes at least 4 attempts for it to connect to the system even if I’m in metres of my WiFi and system. Very basic functionality. This is an embarrassment for the company and they need to get a professional designer on it pronto.

### 1/5 — Awful app - the 5 star reviews must be fake

*2026-03-01*

We got our banham alarm system up and running 2 weeks ago. The app that comes with it is awful.

Firstly, it doesn’t always work which is problematic

Second, if the app does work it takes at least 2 mins to load and then when you put the alarm on or off it logs you out

Go with a different alarm provider

### 1/5 — Barely works

*2026-01-12*

Doesn’t even open after latest Apple update. Before that it would usually take a few (sometimes a dozen) tries to connect.

### 1/5 — Truly terrible. Must be many false reviews

*2025-11-23*

Given the cost of a Banham system, the app is appalling. Slow, glitchy, and has a mind of its own. Last thing you need for a supposedly high-grade security system.

### 1/5 — Worst App

*2025-11-18, version 2.0.4*

This must be the worst app on the App Store.
The team working on this obviously don’t care about their craft, the design quality or their user’s happiness.

I would have expected a better user experience from Banham.

It’s a shame that they’ve partnered with Pyronix, a company notorious for the worst user experience on both hardware and software.

### 1/5 — Worst app on the iPhone

*2025-10-21*

I simply don’t understand how this app apparently has such a high rating. It’s so unlikely anyone would give this 5 stars that I can only presume the company is flooding it with false reviews. The interface looks like something out of Windows ‘95, the success rate of connecting to the device is perhaps 1 in 5, most of the time you can’t scroll through past events (the screen just freezes) and it locks you out every time you do try to disarm or set the alarm. I’d ask the company to improve it but since they’ve been getting these reviews for five years it’s obvious they don’t care. I can only hope that at some point the poor service and high price point start to hit demand and they are forced to respond, though I fear it will be too late by that point. My advice to management would be to act first…

### 1/5 — Very poor

*2025-09-28*

Slow, hangs badly when trying to deactivate the alarm - which is really its only purpose. For the cost of the system, it’s rubbish.

### 1/5 — Will someone take note?!

*2025-03-10*

This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Feedback from users from FOUR YEARS AGO has not been addressed. Almost impossible to get the app to connect to turn alarm on or off: it takes luck and lots of time. Virtually useless. If I had the energy I would leave Banham purely over their refusal to fix the app.

### 1/5 — Notifications useless

*2024-11-12*

Sadly this app is so badly designed as to be virtually useless. It advertises smart notifications but it offers no control as to what triggers a message. As a result it notifies about every change of state producing a steady stream of updates. I don’t need an interrupt every time a member of my household sets or unsets the system in normal operation. I do want to know if there is an alarm state, but it seems unlikely one would be noticed amongst the avalanche of detritus. Useless.

## Most praised reviews (2 highest-rated)

### 2/5 — Needs an overhaul

*2022-06-27, version 2.0.4*

I use this app for activating and deactivating our Banham alarm and it’s painful to use: it’s slow and it often kicks me back to a “reconnect” screen after activating the alarm which is a weird thing to happen. Face ID doesn’t work as I’d expect it to, I’d expect to be able to activate & deactivate the alarm without having to manually type in pin codes!

Some quick wins to make the app better:
1) improved user experience when activating / de-activating the alarm; don’t bounce users to the “reconnect screen” show them the status of the alarm.

2) enable users to use Face ID instead of typing in their pin code each time.

3) make the app carplay compatible so I can deactivate the alarm from the car as I pull onto my drive

### 2/5 — Lots of bugs

*2020-07-06*

1. I tried to arrange my security cameras in a particular order. The app keep forgetting the order when the app is restarted
2. After I have read and acknowledge the alarm notifications, the app still shows that I have more then 50 notifications that i have not read.
3.after you set or unset the alarm, the app locks me out. Why???
4. Other minor bugs in the app that need tidying
