## What is SmartBike?

Bicycles are a desirable form of transportation for many reasons, including the fact that taking a bicycle is environmentally-friendly, economically cost-effective, a way to keep fit and healthy and, on occasions, an enjoyable social activity. In the post-pandemic scenario bicycles are acknowledged as the safest means of commuting.

Bike-sharing, or public bicycle programs, have received increasing attention in recent years with initiatives to increase cycle usage, improve the first mile/last mile connection to other modes of transit, and lessen the environmental impacts of our transport activities.

SmartBike, a company run by passionate cyclists and entrepreneurs is India’s largest 
Public Bicycle Sharing System Company in India and is operating world-class PBS systems in New Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad & Chandigarh and soon in other cities.

SmartBike has transformed the way bicycles are used on a sharing basis by the common citizen by providing high-quality bicycles at thickly populated residential and commercial centers through the installation of bicycle stations. The process of rent and return is digital and can be used on a smartphone. Riders can easily rent and return through our App from any SmartBike station and return at any SmartBike station in the city. SmartBike App is very user-friendly as it shows the nearest bike the station, number of bikes available at the the station, the route to reach nearest bike station and captures all the post-ride details like distance traveled, calories burnt etc.

SmartBike uses state of Smart bicycles, which are custom designed for Indian roads and fitted with a secure lock system. Each bicycle is integrated with SmartBike App which gives the rider, better access, and convenience to ride it. The bicycles can be rented from any SmartBike station and returned anywhere else at our stations within your city.

Minimum balance should be 200 for every ride not once and we applied withdrawal 4/5 days back and didn’t get the money back

Once you recharge, they dont refund the money- they only have an option to raise a request but the request gets rejected and you will never get your money back.

I used smart bike in Narsingi cycle track Hyderabad. First of all the app was not responding at all. After so much try it was able to scan one bike. I paid the initial amount as it asked me to do. The ride started but bike didn’t unlock. Tried ending the ride and restating but nothing was working. After half an hour had to leave without even riding the bike. The ride stopped after 4-5 hours and the charges reached to somewhere 500 rs.

I rented a bicycle in Chandigarh. Since I was new to service, they asked to sign up and minimum add ₹100 to account! On asking, whether the unused money is transferable, they agreed and told it’s part of the process and wallet money can anytime be transferred to source account. 


First the lock of the cycle was not okay! After using it I parked it back in station and faced lock issue, customer care helped in locking the cycle. I came back home and after a few months, I realised that I was overcharged, raised it with customer care and they issued a credit in wallet. 
Later when requested a refund of wallet money which ramain unused for months, app showed it will be done.

Did dozen of follow ups with customer care team, didn’t get any satisfactory help. They would always say it will be done in an hour or in a day; after calling back after a day — they would repeat the same script again. Wrote emails, got no response.


Fed up of follow-ups and I think I have lost all my money in this process. 


Wrote this, so you don’t make the same mistake as I did. Highly not recommend!

Please don’t top up any amount , we can’t able to withdraw it ,I have loaded 300 rupees and I have rides the bike for 1 min as the battery is zero I have returned it to take another bike and for one minute they charged 96 rupees and when I tried to withdraw my amount and it is showing pending since 5 days

The App is non-responsive when you try to lock or unlock the so called smart bike. The lock unlock status is incorrectly shown on app so it doesnt let you take any action. I can help with bug fix free of cost. At night , There is no support on-site and limited smart bikes available ~25, most bikes you get will be low on battery or zero, though you can get the manual ones. Too much of wait time, bad connectivity of app and bikes. 
This really needs to be addressed as there is considerable crowd waiting for bikes. Or do the process manual on-site since anyways you cant drop the bike elsewhere apart from the designated areas.
