This release is about accuracy. If you hold anything outside your home currency, several numbers were wrong before, and they are right now.

Multi currency, done properly

Trades you entered by hand were always recorded in US dollars, which inflated the value of holdings priced in other currencies. Trades now record the currency the security actually trades in, detected automatically. Dividends, realized gains, allocation percentages and your tax report all convert correctly before they are added together, so every screen agrees. A stock detail screen now shows the same position value as your holdings list, and labels the native trading currency next to the price.

Stock splits fixed

If you had recorded a stock split, your growth chart showed a false cliff on the split date and everything based on it was wrong, including your all time high, your worst drawdown and your long term returns. Splits are now handled correctly and your history reads as one continuous line.

Backups you can trust

Backups did not store currency, so restoring your own backup could silently corrupt every holding that was not in US dollars. Backups now include it, and older backup files still restore.

Built for iPad

SmartFolio now has a real iPad layout instead of a stretched phone screen. Content sits at a comfortable reading width, charts and the allocation wheel scale up to use the space, grids show more columns, and tapping a holding no longer breaks the back gesture.

Stability and privacy

Fixed a crash that could occur when every position had been sold. Face ID lock no longer lets someone in when Face ID is unavailable or locked out, and now falls back to your passcode. Deleting a portfolio now deletes its transactions instead of leaving them on your device, and Erase All Data clears your settings and saved API key too.

Everyday fixes

Selling with Max now sells your entire position, including fractional shares and crypto. Number entry works in regions that use a comma as the decimal mark. When prices cannot be reached, the app now tells you and offers a retry instead of spinning forever. Scrolling and chart scrubbing are noticeably smoother.

Get an honest read on how your portfolio is built. SmartFolio now scores your portfolio across six construction and risk factors, including how concentrated your largest position is, how well spread your holdings really are, sector balance, geographic mix, asset class structure, and how it has held up in past drops. The score reflects how you are invested, not how lucky you got recently, so a single winning bet no longer inflates your grade.

Tap the review card on your dashboard to see the full report, with a clear breakdown of every factor and a plain language explanation of each.

Suggestions worth acting on

Along with the score you now get prioritized, plain language suggestions tailored to your holdings. See when one stock has grown too large, when two funds track the same index, when you are heavily tilted to one country or sector, and when you have losses you could harvest for tax or gains approaching long term rates. Each suggestion tells you why it matters and links straight to the holding or fund so you can act.

Multi currency portfolios

SmartFolio now handles portfolios that mix currencies. Hold Canadian, US, and other listed securities together and see one coherent total, with live exchange rates converting every holding into your base currency. Each holding keeps its own return, and prices update in real time.

Refinements

The stock detail screen now shows a single clean price that follows your finger as you scrub the chart. Various speed, layout, and accessibility improvements throughout.

See how your money is split across holdings, sectors, asset classes, and regions. A new health score rates your diversification, concentration, balance, and resilience, with a simple explanation for each.

Smarter Holdings
Every position now shows its move today and its share of your portfolio. Tap any holding for a redesigned detail screen with an interactive chart you can scrub, full tax lot tracking, and one tap to buy or sell.

Better Reports and Taxes
A cleaner reports screen leads with what matters, including harvestable losses that could offset your gains. Set your own tax bracket for honest estimates, review long term and short term gains, browse your full transaction history, and export a tax report.
