Old version was way better. Gone is my multi-year jump history. Gone is the ability to take a small break without the count resetting. I generally do 5-7,000 jumps at a time and like to take small breaks. With this version of the app, after about 10 seconds of inactivity it resets to 0. So frustrating. They came out with SmartRope app and tried to get people to move over to that one. Tried it but had the same issue with resetting to zero so went back to the previous version of this app. They did it again. Why? Not even the graphics are as good, but if it were only a cosmetic fix it would be acceptable. Please have a setting that lets the user have the experience of the previous version. Bring back my historical data. Please fix it. The app also doesn’t turn off the screen auto lock so if the user doesn’t change the screen auto lock setting to never the screen goes dim then eventually turns off. ### 3/5 — Work with Smart Rope jump rope product *2020-07-10, version 1.4.18* Don’t bother using the SmartRope app. This app is what you want to use to connect your SmartRope via Bluetooth to your phone and hook it into your Activity. I’m giving it a⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it was very inconvenient and confusing trying to use the actual SmartRope app. This app works fine. ### 2/5 — Works sometimes *2019-09-28, version 1.3.7* I love this app but I’m disappointed that it only work sometimes. Well I have done that and it won’t work. I haven’t even gotten to use the device once and the app has blocked me from working out using the tech. My network connection is fine but the app releases an error say my connection is non existent. The rope is good and the basic counter is nice. But when it decides not to work, there’s nothing you can do, apparently. The company has apparently done nothing to fix it for over a year at least. The company benefits from the fact that you don’t buy the poorly rated app, but the rope, in ignorance of the app. And the app will probably work long enough that you can’t return the rope. I have already seen a difference both in the way my clothes fit and helping me with the overall duration of doing continuous jumps without tripping up. The one thing I have to say I am not happy with is that the logging date and time is on GMT. I am in located on the east coast of the US and at 7 PM I noticed that the day moves forward to the next day. I do not see any setting the allows me to adjust the time zone manually or automatically. Very motivating...when the app works. The random, out of no where “network connection error” makes me regret ever purchasing this item. What’s the point is the app is just going to quit on you after a few days. The developers need to invest in a fix rather letting months go with the same outstanding issue being the topic of complaints. But when I open a text app during a pause it shuts down the count. Just got an Apple Watch, 4th generation, and now I cannot start the app. Connected to a WiFi, deleted, reloaded... no go. No jumps counted today. Please fix the app! I want to keep using this. When their servers are down you cannot use the app. This is the 2nd time it’s happened to me. Very upsetting to be pumped & not be able to use the app at all. I think the reviews on here are old and outdated, as for me this app worked perfectly and I have no issues. It synced within a second via the app and holding down the power button, and counts the skips accurately. I bought the smart rope, it’s a great length and charges quickly. It connected quickly and immediately suggested that I download the app and install any firmware updates in the app. So I did both, it connect and updated quickly. It connects to my Apple health app. It swings very smoothly. I counted up to 50 swings in a row and checked the app and it read I had completed 50 swings. It’s accurate and quick and beautifully designed. The people who gave this a low rating probably didn’t update their firmware but that should be a must with all apps. Most of the time it’s a user error. I had zero issues with this app and I highly recommend it for others! It even has built in exercises if you are any level including beginners. I love this app! ### 5/5 — App works now... *2017-01-15, version 1.2.1* I left a message on their facebook page last night, and they wrote back this morning saying it should now work, which it is...at least it does for me.... ### 5/5 — Love, love, love this app! *2015-09-24* I love my Smart Rope and I love the Smart Gym Pro companion app. It's a great looking app and has all the bells and whistles that you'd expect from an app that's been around for a while. It also integrates with Apple Health and sync with your Facebook. I love fitness and I love jump roping and the Smart Gym Pro app paired with the Smart Rope makes workouts so much more enjoyable and satisfying. One thing I would like is audio cues from the app. I normally look down as I jump rope and would like some tones when I am reaching my goal. Other than that, I like the app and the jump rope. ### 4/5 — Great App and Device *2016-01-12* The app is beautifully designed and does the job well. It would be better if backwards jumping was accommodated. Also, the workout data is appropriately entered as "Active Energy" in HealthKit. However, the data should also be entered in HealthKit as "Workouts" in the "Mixed Metabolic Cardio Training" category. The "workouts" section allows calories burned to be entered, and some apps import "Active Energy" but others import "Workouts", and some even import both. Not recording the data as an actual workout in HealthKit is a bit counterproductive. Those two matters aside, the app and device do their job well, it's a worthwhile purchase that I easily recommend. ### 4/5 — Solid. *2016-01-11, version 1.0.10* Solid app, does what it supposed to do for the SmartRope, only reason for 4 stars is because every time I finish a round of jumping the same "reward" pops up. It's a little annoying but it's not like you can't get passed it...
