### 2/5 — It doesn’t always sync with MyFitnessPal

*2026-08-26, version 7.11.2*

I really like the Strong app because it sinks directly with MyFitnessPal every time for some reason the smart Jim only does it sometimes and it’s very annoying. I like to track my calories burned against my intake output.

### 3/5 — Issues with calorie count and heart rate.

*2026-08-19, version 7.11.2*

During my workouts the heart rate and caloric burn displayed isn’t accurate. I’ve made sure my watch is tightly secured to my wrist and I’m still having constant issues with both.

### 4/5 — One of the best

*2026-08-17, version 7.11.2*

This app is a great tool for someone who has a good foundation of weight training. I like the progression over time that is recommends so that I can keep pushing myself.

### 5/5 — Cruz Sun

*2026-08-10, version 7.11.2*

Haven’t done anything so far but make it less limited please

### 5/5 — Works Well

*2026-08-08, version 7.11.2*

Good app. I am able to pre-program gym routines before I get to gym, and it tracks your progress both per workout and progression over time. Being able to log workouts from Apple Watch is nice as well. I was able to add custom exercises as well. Future request to developer….. maybe the ability to link custom exercises to video content (I.e. YouTube, etc.) to reference proper exercise techniques.

### 5/5 — Just a solid app for training or lifting

*2026-08-08, version 7.11.2*

Once you get used to the features it’s awesome. #1 allows you to easily adjust your workout. # 2 Full database of lifts, but creating custom lifts is simple allows you to add graphics. #3 customer support is top notch. I and probably a few others ask to add some Olympic style training lifts. And a month later they were in there. So they listen.

### 2/5 — I’m sure that it is a great app…

*2026-08-03, version 7.11.2*

…once you learn how to use it. To me, personally, it’s just not user friendly to me. Maybe it’s me but I cannot figure out where to log everything. I log it in one place the rest timer timer doesn’t start, I push a button (which one I don’t know?) and another place to log pops up and then, when I think I”m finished, I press the forward error, it doesn’t go to the next exercise and asks me if I want to save changes permanently. I don’t know. Then, at the end of the workout, instead of showing all six exercises that I started with, it showed two. It’s just not easy unless you memorize the “owners manual” before using. I prefer not to have to stop my routine after every exercise to figure out how to log my sets/reps. Might as well get out the notebook that I use to use in the early 90’s. It’s faster…

### 5/5 — Fantastic app for workouts

*2026-08-01, version 7.11.2*

Amazing Apple Watch integration

### 4/5 — April 2025

*2026-07-31, version 7.11.2*

SmartGym has helped to guide me in my pursuit to become healthier!
Easy to create and customize workouts to fit where I’m currently at, from beginner to intermediate stage!
Personal trainer without the human judgement!
68 byears old and keep moving forward

### 5/5 — Best app on the market

*2026-07-30, version 7.10.2*

10/10 wouldn’t change a thing

### 5/5 — Favorite app

*2026-07-29, version 7.11.2*

Been using the smartGym app for about one year. Periodically drift away to try the alternatives which are always inferior. Dedicated thoughtful updates make this app better and better. By far the best gym app that I have found (and I have looked!) with broad applicability for isokinetic and strength training protocols.

### 5/5 — The best pound per pound!!!

*2026-07-27, version 7.11.2*

I have been testing for a month all the applications of this type that offered a version for the Apple Watch. And I think this is the best in all aspects, especially when you use it on the Apple Watch (I also think it's the only one that has support for the Apple Watch Ultra action button) It is also worth mentioning that the last application I tried was FitBod, which is excellent but its version for Apple Watch leaves a lot to be desired and its subscription is twenty dollars more expensive. And finally, this app should be in the top 1.

### 5/5 — Probably the best watch app I use

*2026-07-27, version 7.10.2*

This app is ridiculously robust and after a small learning curve very intuitive and reliable. Been using it for years and I wouldn’t want to do strength training without it. It’s probably great on the iPhone too but I leave it at home and just use my watch.

### 4/5 — Good app- does what it says

*2026-07-27, version 7.10.2*

Use it daily. Keeps me on track

### 5/5 — Great workout app

*2026-07-27, version 7.10.2*

Easy to use and organize workouts. The AI feature to give you new workouts is pretty spot on to what I am trying to accomplish.

### 5/5 — Sgt Taylor

*2026-07-27, version 7.11.2*

Great app, loads of exercises and easy to follow directions.

### 4/5 — One of the best

*2026-07-27, version 7.11.2*

Great for planning workouts; would be five stars if logging was better. Just got an update, looking to see if it’s better.

### 5/5 — Love it.

*2026-07-27, version 7.11.2*

I’ve only been using the app for about 10 weeks, but I’ve lost some weight, I feel good, and I don’t have to drag myself around at work. I will continue to use this app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Half assed overpriced AI garbage

*2026-08-05, version 7.11.2*

Title says it all

### 1/5 — F

*2026-07-27, version 7.11.2*

Not free 🇦🇷

### 1/5 — No alternative exercice!!

*2026-07-24, version 7.10.2*

It seems like there is a bug right now. There are no alternatives for all the exercises…

### 1/5 — Not intuitive

*2026-07-09, version 7.10.2*

This app has no consistency. For starter, it’s confusing to start an exercise. Is it start from the group set or the start button? If u press the start button, it doesn’t start anything if you’re not looking at a set. That begs the question what is the Start Exercise button for? Then each exercise has a different way to start a “rest” time. Some start automatically and some require the users to initiate. Why is there a “log set a next exercise” option when you just finished the first set? I just wanna exercise and don’t want to fiddling on the app too much.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work, no support

*2026-06-30, version 7.10.2*

I’ve been using the app for a month and the smart plans don’t change nor does it provide recommended weights. And reaching out to support was a blackhole

### 1/5 — Can’t do anything without paying for subscription

*2026-06-05, version 7.10.2*

As soon as I make ONE workout it immediately shoves a subscription offer in my face. I would expect less features without a subscription, not NONE.

### 1/5 — Garbage price

*2026-05-27, version 7.10.1*

We should really have a monthly thing and not having to pay yearly

### 1/5 — Нет русского языка

*2026-05-25, version 7.10.1*

Это что за приложение, в котором нет русского языка в меню? Не хорошо.

### 1/5 — Can’t use app without signing up for “free trial”

*2026-05-19, version 7.10.1*

Immediately deleted after I found out I can’t use it without signing up for the “trial” just let us try your app. If it’s good we’ll pay. But trying to lock us into an auto renew contract without ever even using the app earns an immediate delete.

### 1/5 — Deceptive about subscription

*2026-05-13, version 7.10.1*

Like others, I was disappointed to find out this app is practically useless unless you pay their absurd subscription prices. Their entire AppStore description is its capabilities, etc… then near the bottom, buried in text they state their subscription model. Most users don’t scroll that far down, and the developers know it. Their “small team” is making money hand over fist, don’t pity them no matter how they spin it.

Lots of free apps in the AppStore that are great for tracking fitness. Don’t waste your time with this one.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect for me

*2026-08-22, version 7.11.2*

I like that you can tailor it to your needs and equipment.

### 5/5 — Great workout app

*2026-08-20, version 7.11.2*

I have been using it a little bit over a year. It’s simple to use and really user friendly. I am no personal trainer nor a gym rat, i am just an average person at the gym and this app has helped me lose 42 pounds.

One thing I would like to see as a feature would be to allow users to add their training goals and have the app create a training program based on that. For example if preparing for a marathon, spartan race or some sort of PT Test.

AI chats do that nowadays and I could just copy and paste it to the app to keep track of the performance, but then it loses the reason for having the app.

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-08-18, version 7.11.2*

Amazing app.

### 5/5 — Best in class!

*2026-08-16, version 7.11.2*

Had this app for many years now. Switched between other apps, and I keep returning to this one. It is great, versatile and allows you to really personalize what you want to do.

### 5/5 — Kim

*2026-08-16, version 7.11.2*

Kim

### 5/5 — Best Fitness App on the market

*2026-08-13, version 7.11.2*

What more can I say? This app perfectly lets you not only track your workout, but set up a timer for rest periods between sets and it’s all done on a very clean interface.

### 5/5 — Amazing we’ll recommended

*2026-08-12, version 7.11.2*

The best app ever if you pay the annual membership more amazing I has been using for 3 years. Best of the best I love it.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2026-08-11, version 7.11.2*

So far, I it a lot easier that using a book. Speeds up my pace so I can get an extra exercise in each morning.

### 5/5 — Thanks
