### 1/5 — SmartHebrewFlashcards

I’m new to learning Hebrew and it would help if there was a voice to tell what each letter, word etc. is. There’s no sound.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2021-11-05*

Any time you press any button within the app it closes instantly :(

**Developer response:** This has been 100% fixed. The issue was not with the app but with upgrades made in iOS that caused the problem. Please try the latest version.

### 1/5 — Looked promising!

*2021-07-31*

Downloaded and opened the app. Pressing any button, immediately closed the app. Every single button.
Good thing I didn’t spend any money!

**Developer response:** This has been 100% fixed. The issue was not with the app but with upgrades made in iOS that caused the problem. Please try the latest version. As far as money, the app is a community service project and, as such, is free. That being said, we very much want it to work and we have used it in numerous classes, so we know it is useful. Please try the latest version.

### 2/5 — Not working

*2022-07-14*

The game part of this is not working. It just flashes and flashes and does not stay on one page.

**Developer response:** Please try it now. Sorry I missed this one earlier. I hope it works for you. My class uses it all the time.

### 3/5 — No sounds

*2024-06-21*

Very disappointed in this program. I am learning Hebrew and wanted to hear the sounds along with studying the words. Unfortunately there are no sounds and please don’t tell me to turn my ringer up because it is. I’m very disappointed. What good is the program without? Sounds when you’re trying to learn.

**Developer response:** We are very interested in adding sounds. We appreciate your feedback. Don't worry -- we know its not a problem with your ringer :)

### 4/5 — Keeps crashing😭

*2026-02-21*

I really like how this app is helping with my Bat Mitzvah. It makes learning Hebrew a lot easier. I just have one problem. The app keeps crashing and kicking me out every five minutes. It may just be a bug im not very sure.

**Developer response:** Laura. We have deployed a number of fixes to keep the app from
Crashing. Please let us know if it is still happening. Best of luck with your bat mitzvah studies.

### 4/5 — Letters Pay and Phay need to be swapped

*2023-10-20*

This app is great except for one issue I found. The letters Pay and Phay are in the wrong order. The order they’re listed in is the opposite of the Alef Bet song. Pay should be before Phay but this app has Phay first. This is confusing for a kid trying to learn the letters. Can this please be changed?

**Developer response:** Thanks for the great feedback. Ordering of pay and phay is now fixed in version 2.21.

### 5/5 — SmartHebrewFlashcards

*2026-06-16*

This app is really helpful!
It helped me learn, and it is so easy to understand!
I 1000% recommend!
The only thing that could change your vote is you can use the sound button and it basically gives you the answer.

### 5/5 — Perfect for Flashcard Learning

*2025-12-09*

Exactly what I was looking for.... flash card leaving, with vowels, letters, words, vowels. No add! Free! Perfect!

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fun, Quick Review on the Go!

*2025-04-27*

I am an adult Biblical Hebrew learner. This app helps me review all the letters, vowel sounds and some phrases while I do any kind of waiting - Dr. appointments, music lessons, etc. Rather than killing time on social media scrolling, I can practice something useful!!

### 5/5 — It is so good

*2024-11-12*

I love this app and I use it daily for learning how to teach my people and I love it

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2024-11-11*

It's very good for practicing words for quizzes as I go to jewish Day School. this app is very good and would recommend trying it.

### 5/5 — I love it

*2024-07-06*

Thank you so much for making this app, it is supporting my barmitsfa studies a lot and I hope you continue to add updates, it just makes it better

**Developer response:** Thanks!! Version 2.24 adds a LOT of new words -- hope you like it. It'll bring our vocaulary up to 244 words.

### 5/5 — Great learning tool

*2023-11-27*

Both of my kids have used this app to support their Hebrew studies. One was a star at their B’ Mitzvah after using this app in the beginning of their study. The second child is able to review hebrew in the car on the way to sports practice. We appreciate the flexibility it offers in study. They are also excited every time they get a new high score (Flashcards correctly identified per session). Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — We use this app in our Sunday School

*2022-10-06*

I direct a Sunday School, and we run a game night for kids—and some adults too. It’s helped my Hebrew a lot.

It allows you to choose the letters you want to include in a quiz—so teachers (and individuals) can focus on what needs most work.

It also enables you to work on religious and prayer words which are very useful in preparing for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah—and of course, for us in the Sunday School

### 5/5 — Also taught me JavaScript

*2022-07-24*

App only claims to teach Hebrew, but after using this app for two years I’ve gained a pretty good knowledge of JavaScript and React. Rumor has it that the upcoming Android version is going to be excellent, if a bit delayed.
