## What is SmartHome Dashboard?

HomeView turns your HomeKit accessories into a clear, elegant dashboard. Built specially for iPad — with a companion app for iPhone so you can check and control your home on the go.
No more tapping through the Home app to find a single light: see your whole home at a glance and control everything from one screen.

WIDGETS FOR EVERYTHING
- Lighting – turn on/off, dim and pick a colour
- Climate – temperature and humidity, with thermostat control
- Curtains – open, close and position precisely
- Cameras – snapshot view, tap to enlarge
- Switches & fans – control them with a single tap
- Scenes – activate up to three favourite scenes instantly
- Alarm & locks – control your security system and smart locks
- Weather, rain forecast, clock and date

MADE YOUR WAY
- Filter by category for quick access
- Pin your most important widgets to the Overview
- Arrange everything with drag and drop
- Custom names and icons per widget
- Choose from several background colours – or let them switch automatically between day and night
- Digital or analogue clock

ON YOUR IPHONE TOO
Take a focused version of your home with you. Add just the devices you want, browse by category or by room, group your lights, and search across everything — built for quick glances, not a shrunk-down dashboard.

Everything runs directly through HomeKit – private, secure and with no detours. No extra accounts, no third-party cloud.
HomeView is optimised for iPad and turns an old or dedicated iPad into the perfect control panel for your home – on the wall, on a table or in the kitchen.

### 4/5 — A good start, with room to grow. Responsive dev!

*2026-08-07*

Right from the start the app is functional and capable. Im looking forward to seeing how it grows and matures as the developer adds new functions and features. I’ve run into A few glitches here and there, but nothing critical, and the one bug that I’ve found the developer is aware of and working to fix.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to leave a review—it really helps a lot! I'm full of new ideas and always open to community suggestions, so I’m super excited to see where we take the app over the coming months.

### 4/5 — Works well

*2026-07-08*

It works well and does what it says. Localization in English would be nice but not necessarily needed.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review and the kind words. An update that makes English the default fallback language is on it’s way.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.3 — 2026-08-24

New in HomeView 2.3:

• Indoor & outdoor — a new tile shows an indoor sensor right next to the outdoor temperature, with an arrow for warmer or colder inside.
• Music in ambient mode — when something's playing on Sonos, a compact player appears in a corner of the ambient screen: play, skip and a volume slider, without leaving ambient mode.
• iPhone nightstand — turn your iPhone into a bedside clock, by hand or automatically while it's charging on its side.
• A calmer ambient mode — an optional larger clock that's easy to read across the room, plus gentler protection against screen burn-in.
• Smoother throughout — rolling numbers, morphing icons, a Sonos artwork crossfade and lots of small animation touches.

Also: curtain controls now follow your chosen icon (up/down or left/right), plus a range of smaller fixes and refinements.

### 2.2 — 2026-08-13

New in 2.2:

• Sonos now playing — see and control what's playing on your Sonos speakers straight from your dashboard: play/pause, skip, volume and the queue. On both iPad and iPhone.
• Countdown widget — count down the days to a holiday, wedding, birthday or any date that matters.
• Battery overview — see at a glance which accessories are running low, sorted emptiest first.
• Works on more iPads — HomeView now supports iPadOS 17.
• Now available in French.

Plus dozens of small refinements and bug fixes.

### 2.1 — 2026-08-09

Version 2.1

Compact tiles
Make lights, switches and fans smaller to fit more controls on your dashboard. Choose quarter or wide tiles and drag them together into handy groups — two lights side by side or stacked in a single widget.

Reminders & shopping list
Put a Reminders list right on your dashboard. Tick items off from the tile, pick a matching icon, and enjoy a little celebration when you clear the list.

Full weather forecast
Tap the weather widget for the complete picture: hourly and seven-day forecasts, plus feels-like temperature, wind, humidity, UV index, and sunrise and sunset.

Lights off in one press
Press and hold the Lighting chip to switch off every light that's on at once — from any tab.

Smoother and more reliable
Tile dragging has been rebuilt to feel faster and smoother, along with various refinements and stability fixes.

### 2.0 — 2026-07-23

Version 2.0

NOW ON IPHONE
HomeView now comes with a companion app for iPhone — so you can check and control your home when you're not near your iPad. It's not a shrunk-down dashboard: it's built for quick glances and quick taps. Start empty and add exactly the devices you want, browse by category or by room, group your lights, and search across everything. Your iPad dashboard stays exactly as it is — the two work side by side.

Everything is per-home and opt-in, just like on iPad.

Thanks, as always, for the suggestions that shaped this release.

### 1.6 — 2026-07-17

Version 1.6

MULTIPLE HOMES
If you have more than one home set up in Apple Home, a switcher now appears next to the + button. Each home keeps its own widgets, pins and layout.

AMBIENT MODE
A calm, dimmed view with a large clock, the weather and a compact status line — it appears automatically after a period of inactivity, and a single tap brings your dashboard back. Made for an iPad on the wall.

CLIMATE HISTORY
Climate widgets can now show a trend graph on the tile, and tapping one opens a full history: Day, Week or Month.

SPACER WIDGET
An invisible widget that takes up space without showing anything — for arranging your dashboard exactly the way you want.

CUSTOM TIMER DURATION
Set your own countdown, down to the second.

REDESIGNED SETTINGS
A cleaner, organised main menu, plus a complete guide covering everything the dashboard can do.

SCROLLABLE OVERVIEW
An optional setting removes the limit on pinned widgets.

Plus dozens of smaller improvements: HomeKit statuses refresh reliably when you return to the app, dragging is more consistent, and the whole dashboard feels more responsive.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in with suggestions — multiple homes was one of yours.
