It helped us to make sure we had locked up because we had a habit of not doing that due to where we lived before. There was no need to lock up. Now where we live, it’s required because random people be checking doors. Once the pandemic started, we didn’t need to use the app as much since someone is ALWAYS home and the door stays locked, plus we’ve basically stopped using the front door. For the past several months, whenever the door has been used by our daughter, or my husband, the door gets left unlocked. I check to see if the door is locked and when I see it is, I try going into app to lock the door because I really don’t want to go down the stairs to go lock it, (I had knee surgery), but every time I get in the app to lock the door,it closes out just as soon as I press on it to open it. I’ve rest my phone, I’ve repeatedly checked for updates for the app, but nothing. Just super annoying to even have anymore since it doesn’t even open, but I keep holding onto it, hoping the app will work. We’ve used them for six years. The previous app would send me push notifications when the alarm was set/disarmed and when there was an intrusion. Doesn’t happen anymore and there doesn’t seem to be a way go enable it. Buttons tiny for passcode causing touch points to be terrible. Malfunctions when disarming, causing multiple dispatch calls and false alarms. I could blindfold my grandmother and she could make a better functioning app than this. Either fix this atrocious hot garbage app or give us back the old outdated app that actually worked, responded, and functioned properly. ### 1/5 — Always glitching *2024-04-12* I pay for a service that includes use of the app. It’s hopeless. Always glitching or logging me out even though I select “stay signed in” and Face ID log in. Always changing my setting back to default with every update. Over it. Smartlink is not the best app. It is very frustrating to have an alarm app that simply doesn’t work well. I’ve had it for eight years and for some reason I keep hoping that it will improve. I really like my company that is local, and don’t want to switch to a national company. The issue is they do have to use a larger monitoring company. There’s no more local monitoring which would make it much easier. The app mostly says No Connection. I have to swipe up to close app and reopen. It will work after that but ridiculous to expect it to not work smoothly. I verified my log in credentials, and I still could not access my alarm panel settings from the app. I after a day, it finally let me log in. ### 3/5 — Needs some work *2022-06-28, version 6.7.1* I love being able to adjust the thermostat upstairs and downstairs from my phone, as well as turning on and off my alarm system. However, almost every time I use it, it isn’t in synch. So I have to shut it down and reload it. This takes 45 seconds that is annoying. I love the new addition of recipes, but sometimes the recipes work and turn on and off the air conditioning at the right times, and sometimes the recipes just don’t work. So I wake up in the middle of the night hot and have to manually turn on the air higher. I use an iPhone 12.
