Next (for 5 stars): Would like to add something to notes in the first popup without having to open the reading again to find the notes section. —- Sometimes it shows the reading after pulling the strip, when it doesn’t, it needs to restart the app. The keyboard is condensed and not fulI across like on other apps. However, there are a couple of things which could be improved. In the notes section of any reading taken, the keys are set out so the @ is next to the space bar but the space bar is tiny. Therefore, every time I type, I constantly get @ instead of a space because no other keyboard is set out in such a way. Please consider removing the @ from the main keyboard. Secondly, whilst the app will give you graphs/charts dating back up to 90 days, they are virtually unintelligible because there is so little room on the screen. Daily readings only appear in the summary list for up to 7 days. I don’t keep a written diary of my levels so I would be grateful if you consider lengthening the list to 90 days instead. Thank you. ### 2/5 — Improvement Needed *2025-06-23* Because this app is to do with looking after your health you would imagine that this app would be fully working with the CareSensDual. The app does transfer blood glucose and keytone readings but they are not shown in the graphs on the app. The GKi does not calculate and is not shown on the graph. Please update this app and get it fully functional and graphs working correctly. ### 2/5 — Ok but… *2025-03-20, version 2.7.13* For simple tracking and reading the monitor yes, works great. I however, would like to be able to delete readings. I did a control A test which is higher than my usual values and its throwing off my graph. Now, in order to log info, it requires you to consent to numerous legally binding terms. I don’t want all of my personal information shared with anyone and do not agree with the terms. In my opinion, it is an invasion of my privacy. I have deleted the app and have returned the device. Do better! ### 1/5 — Do not transfer data *2024-08-01, version 2.7.12* There is problem to transferring data via Bluetooth from CareSens N Premier to this app I miss my measuring during synchronization but I had one that is not mine. It logged out all the time. There is not biometric verification. The worst app I’ve been used! ### 1/5 — MISLEADING & DECEPTIVE - No Privacy of Health Data *2024-07-26* In spite of any claim that the developer doesn’t collect personal data from the app, you must be willing to share ALL of this app’s data AND your linked personal Apple Health App data in order to use ANY functionality of this app. This app appears to be a data mining app for 3rd parties to gather up your personal health data and use it for their own purposes, whatever those purposes may be. It also appears that this app and its privacy practices have not been fully vetted by Apple. You will sign away your rights to any health privacy that you have by using this app. ### 1/5 — Does not keep readings *2024-07-12, version 2.7.12* Only the 1st 2 days ever saved in app. The app collects the data via Bluetooth and shows the results but after I press save it disappears! Disappointing- back to log book. I suggest purchasing a different brand then CareSens! ### 1/5 — Complete disregard for the users *2024-06-21, version 2.7.12* Complete disregard of the users needs, if I had realized how bad every version or update they released to fix the continuous ongoing problems I would have bought another brand and I will never by another product from this manufacturer where another option exists, as other reviews have stated a pen and piece of paper is a better option as at least you can write the numbers down and they are there unlike importing them into the app, some days they are there, sometimes they are there the next day and sometimes it takes days for them to show up. What’s the point! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App skips readings *2026-05-03* The app skips readings and doesn’t always transfer to apple health making apple health unable to give accurate reports. You watch it, sync your latest reading to the device and before you press save, it inputs it to the app, then doesn’t transfer to apple iOS. It crashes at least 25% of the time. It needs a feature to force sync for a reading, it’s a simple fix but required for it to be useful and reliable. ### 1/5 — App crashes after importing data *2026-04-23, version 2.7.14* App crashes after importing data through Bluetooth. It can only connect to 2 blood pressure monitors and one of those is now discontinued. The app is free which is its only virtue. But then what is freedom. But the right to complain ### 1/5 — Apple Store says data “not collected” they lied *2026-01-03, version 2.7.14* They make you agree to like 5 consents before using the app. It literally says after agreeing they will send your data to Korea where they are not liable for what happens to that data after it leaves the US. These type of apps should be illegal ### 1/5 — Not the easiest to use *2025-12-30, version 2.7.14* Manual entry gives you more options to add extra information which is counter intuitive. Very basic app that needs a UX review and some investment. Not easy to share data either. ### 1/5 — Rubbish BT connection and boring app *2025-08-09, version 2.7.14* Bluetooth to my iPhone 16pro max is shocking. Never stays connected and takes so long to connect. The app itself is boring - crude layout and hard to read as writing is so small. Trends are hopeless. Shame as I was using another app before o got my BT caresens machine. Wish I’d never bothered. Would love to hear from the app producers about upcoming improvements. ### 1/5 — App not working *2025-07-22, version 2.7.14* The app will not produce Blood glucose reports from the data stored on the phone making it difficult to share reports ### 1/5 — Slow to open *2025-07-04, version 2.7.14* I have been using SmartLog for some years now, when I first downloaded it, it was great but following each update, it has progressively gotten worse. For the past few months, SmartLog has been running very slow i.e. it takes a very long time to open and my Caresens N Premier 0 times out meaning I have to start the careSense again once SmartLog finally opens to save readings. Currently a very poor product and I am seriously looking at the competition. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2025-04-08, version 2.7.13* It used to pair with the app, now the final screen flashes by before there’s a chance to pair Bluetooth. Machine still reads blood glucose levels and I write them down. Disappointed and Frustrated with app and pairing. ### 1/5 — Not user friendly *2025-04-07* I regret I recently transferred to using this app as my new device requires it. Unfortunately it is not nearly as user friendly as the Contour app (which is only for blood glucose, not ketones). Issues with SmartLog are not limited to: The report function is virtually useless. The report defaults to last 7 days and you have to manually override, you cannot change the default 7day setting. The font is tiny and you cannot zoom in to focus or easily read data points. The app preview image is incorrect. Following a download of data there is no clear confirmation of the data. Because this app is so unfriendly to users, and the Contour app is so good, I wish this app development team would follow their lead. ### 1/5 — Weak *2025-03-06* I would have expected the app designed to work with my device to be much better. The very first time I connected, it downloaded all the readings including the two test readings with the calibration fluid. One of those tests was way off so as a result my averages are skewed from the beginning. There is no way to delete the false readings. All it does is CRASH on startup. I have come to depend on this app and have a lot of data stored in it. Please make it right and don’t lose my data. A fix was applied (v2.7.1) within hours and it’s working ok now.. no issues to report. ### 5/5 — Great app now. Does exactly what it says on the tin. *2022-10-08* Release 2.7.1 has fixed the bug that was introduced in release 2.7.0 you can now accept the new terms and conditions on ios16.0.2. Their advice: 1. Delete the app. 2. Turn your iPhone off/on. 3. Download/install SmartLog again. 3. Follow meter pairing instructions. Works now! Thank you. Still a great app. ——————- Upgraded my iPhone 8 to iPhone 12 mini today. Bluetooth pairing fails on new phone. I’ve had the meter and app for 18 months and love it. I have special needs and inputting readings several times a day (because it will not pair with this new phone) is difficult. It enables me to relay readings to my specialist easily via email anytime I need advice and guidance.
