## What is SmartMail Manager?

SmartMail Manager puts your SmarterMail servers in your pocket — the same admin console, built natively for iPhone and iPad.

When a customer says their mail never arrived, or your server starts refusing logins at 2am, you should not need a laptop. Connect to your own SmarterMail installation over HTTPS and get a straight answer.

WHY ADMINS USE IT

• Find the message that "never arrived" — search the server logs by address, IP, host, spool id or message-id and follow one message end to end: the SMTP arrival, the spam checks, and its final outcome.
• See it in plain English — raw log lines are translated underneath: SMTP reply codes, greylisting, IDS blocks, relay refusals, SPF/DKIM/DMARC results and rspamd verdicts with their score breakdown.
• Catch the address attacking you — results group by source IP and rank worst first, with failed logins, how many accounts were guessed at, refusals and country flags. Block or whitelist straight from the row.
• Handle it from anywhere — domains, accounts, password resets, spool actions, IDS blocks, blacklists and whitelists, spam settings and server log levels.
• Watch it live — dashboard, mail flow, connections, services and alerts, with notifications when something crosses a threshold.
• iPad-native — a proper split-view sidebar, not a stretched phone app.

BUILT FOR REAL INFRASTRUCTURE

• Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain and work with the Passwords app.
• The app talks only to the servers you configure — no vendor cloud, and no telemetry about your mail.
• Self-signed certificates are supported per server.
• Try it first: Demo mode runs the whole app against a simulated busy server before you connect anything real.

REQUIREMENTS
A SmarterMail server you administer, and a system administrator login for it. Optional: an rspamd gateway for the anti-spam screens.

SmartMail Manager is an independent administration tool for operators of their own SmarterMail servers. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, SmarterTools Inc.

### 1.6 — 2026-08-01

Fixed: opening a message in Webmail showed an empty reading pane. The request was missing the mailbox owner, so the server returned nothing — messages now open and display normally.
Fixed: the message list could show a blank sender. Senders now show as a name and address.

Also in this release: Message Trace with the ranked Sources view, IDS attack detail, country flags on IP addresses, Server logs settings, and the corrected Whitelist / IP blacklist lists.

### 1.5 — 2026-07-31

Message Trace: search your SmarterMail logs by address, IP or message-id and follow a message end to end, with every line explained in plain English.
Sources view ranks the addresses abusing your server worst first — failed logins, how many accounts they guessed at, and what got through. Block or whitelist from the row.
Tap any IDS block to see exactly what that address did.
Country flags on IP addresses throughout, plus a Server logs settings screen.
Fixed: the Whitelist tab was reading the server's blacklist — please check both lists after updating.
Fixed: webmail search now filters instead of returning the whole folder.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-23

• New: sign-in fields work with the Passwords app — fill a saved login from the keyboard, and save new credentials so they sync across your devices.
• Fixed: the Blacklist tab was always empty; blocked IPs now appear, and the Whitelist tab shows the server's real IP access list.
• Fixed: unblocking an IDS-blocked IP, and promoting it to the permanent blacklist.
• Reliability sweep — 28 fixes from a full audit: account protocol toggles now save, a failed message send keeps your draft, mail actions target the right folder, and saves report honestly instead of claiming false success.
