There are likely better options; don’t waste your time with this one. ### 3/5 — Problems with iOS 9 *2015-10-04* Since I have upgraded to iOS 9, this app doesn't work very well. The app keeps aborting when it tries to use the camera to scan. It will have five stars from me if the makers updated the app to be compatible with iOS 9. ### 1/5 — Review *2015-06-03, version 2.2* Paid for this app. Not working for iPhone 5s No support. ### 4/5 — Works pretty well with my 6 plus. *2015-02-18* I needed to be able to scan a store receipt and have it output into a text file so I can put into MS Werd (Didnt want any issues naming another software in review). This app didn't do to well with receipts and iphone 5. Maybe it was due to the camera quality or the case I had on the phone which had its own lens cover built into it. Other apps had issues also with receipts that I tried. I have a iphone 6+ now and just tried using this app. It did pretty well with a store receipt. It still got a few of the characters wrong but most of them were correct which can be fixed in the text editor of your choice. ### 4/5 — Good app *2015-01-16, version 2.2* Good tool to have in your phone. ### 1/5 — piece of crap *2014-10-29, version 2.2* it does not even load. do not bother wasting your time or money on this app. ### 4/5 — Good Scanning in most Scenarios *2014-06-24* The scan tool is simple to use, and the OCR is pretty accurate (only a few garbled words) as long as you have good light and can get the page you are scanning mostly flat. This version has some nice improvements, such as the ability to control the camera flash. It also has a setting to control line breaks, which is a nice addition. There is still room for improvement: The OCR produces lots of gibberish when there are any underlined words, lines or other "decorations" on the page. I doesn't read text that is not black very well. It fails to read fractions or special characters, such as a degree symbol (I scan lots of recipes). It also randomly capitalizes some words, particularly ones that start with a "w". ### 1/5 — This app won't start! *2014-06-23, version 2.2* I installed this app in my iPhone 4S (iOS 6.1.3). I tried starting this app, but it crashed right after the startup screen popped up. I also tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but the results stayed the same. To developers: Please fix this problem as soon as possible! ### 1/5 — Crashes on opening *2014-06-21, version 2.2* The last two updates crash on opening, making it totally useless. Previously it was good, but not now. Don't waste your money. ### 2/5 — Update poor; cannot see cursor or selected text *2014-05-17* 1. Cannot see the cursor at all in editing mode. This is serious. 2. Cannot see text you "select" in editing mode. This is also serious. 3. Using a single color (mauve) in the app for both background and foreground makes no sense. Cannot see borders between documents listed on home page. No ability to choose or adjust. This is not that critical, but makes no sense. Also, to me, mauve seems an unusual color choice, especially if everything is monochromatic, but perhaps that is a matter of taste. I am more interested in functionality. 4. Otherwise, the app is a decent scanner and does decent OCR, as in previous version. 5. But, all OCR needs to be edited, and for that you need to see your cursor and your selections. Duh. 6. Basically, I have liked this app. It was simple and functional. I would adjust rating back to 4 or 5 stars if the cursor and selection issues are corrected. As it is, it is unfortunately barely usable. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poor quality implementation *2021-12-03, version 3.0.1* Poor quality app, had failed 3 attempts at scanning a document, then wanted payment to carryon. Very poor app ### 1/5 — Missing Instructions: How to Use❓— Developer website in Chinese NOT English… *2021-11-03* Usage instructions are missing in the app and the Developer provided link takes one to a blogspot that is in some variation of Chinese — not English — and translator widgets don’t provide a clear translation. How are English speakers supposed to get help understanding how2use this app?? ** Developers, please provide instructions and let me know — then I might be able to actually review this app. ** ALSO, the text from image grabber is riddled with mistakes that make it very awkward to, for example, accurately extract a lengthy website address from a screenshot of the website address —might as well just use pen and paper… FAIL - PLEASE FIX ❗️❗️❗️ ### 1/5 — Major issues *2021-10-08* First I’m not sure how it opens all your photos the first time when you did not give the app permission to view your photos the first time you ever use the app.. but besides that. Basics, in edit of either type of upload/photo, there is no undo button/option. Also, basic like cropping and moving dimensions doesn’t work. It gives an overlay over a blank screen, but if you move it around and return to the photo, you see it must’ve moved around according to this overlay w corner points. Anyway lots of basic problems and I guess I need to change my iCloud account passwords now. ### 1/5 — Can’t read text *2021-07-22, version 3.0.1* Doesn’t do the basic job it’s designed for ### 1/5 — Expensive *2020-03-15, version 3.0.1* Only get 2 free scans, then it costs $4.95. That’s not enough scans to see if it’s worth it. ### 1/5 — 95% accurate is just not true *2018-04-07, version 3.0.1* Very poorly done and the recognition of the text and accuracy is more like 10% not 95% ### 1/5 — Too many errors *2017-10-19* I chose a screenshot of English text from a news website to test the OCR. Even after cropping the image to one paragraph with a large and clear font, it mixed up simple words and entire lines of text.
