It was okay at best a few times but I found it not worth the set up times for inaccurate readings. The inconsistency with readings along with dead sign up links make this app a waste of time. I went to download one more time try to again and the sign up link isn’t working. The tutorial says it’s easy to use but it does not work. Watched tutorial and set up just like it said to and it did not work. Just spins. So even tho paid for its down to couple of pitches/hits left. Says compatible with the phone. Needs internet to work which is a pain. Downloaded it last year and found it hard to even register a hit. Saw some online postings that said they had improved the app. Figured I would try again. Even paid for it twice because it was so inexpensive. Maybe cheap is better word because you get what you pay for. Accuracy of hitting is ridiculously not even remotely close to being realistic and accurate. It’s only a few bucks so no big loss of anything but my time. The idea and concept is intriguing and what great thinking can eventually lead to. Unfortunately that time isn’t now. After that you have to end the session and start a new one. It reads an 12year old as pitching in the 65-70mph….. doesn’t matter which mode being used (game or practice), have changed light sensitivity, went and remeasured pitcher height to make sure correct…. It measures speed and hitting stats with high precision and displays that live on the app. Therefore the fact that you do not see the camera or a video image on your phone when patented SmartPitch is measuring speeds does not mean it is not working. Closed the app again and gave it one more shot. Seriously not worth it. Thanks! ### 3/5 — Doesn’t seem accurate *2024-02-03* I purchased the premium version last year so that I could measure my sons growth as pitchers and not be bound by the pitch limit. Last year when I tried the app, it had my oldest son throwing about 10 mi./hrs. slower than what other radars that coaches had used on him and this year when I took it out to test his speed. It had him throwing 20 miles an hour less than what they had last year. I love the app in the sense that it keeps logs of outings, and the voice announce speeds is awesome. Registered pitches a little faster than actual, 3-5 mph faster. Went back to look at the settings and the markings were a little off. Readjusted then kept pitching and seems accurate.
