### 5/5 — Accurately counts carbs!

I've had diabetes since 1998 and have always counted carbs to dose insulin. When I received my plate, I put it to the test by throwing a handful of small pretzels on it and checking the carbs compared to the label. It was within 1g. Amazing technology for newly diagnosed patients or people with T2 who are struggling learning to count carbs.

As you know, our lifestyle and nutrition intake are key to our health. 
SmartPlate is a great product - the most AI-powered and nutrition tracking technology ever invented for personalized nutrition. I have been using it to manage my daily nutrient intake as I work hard on changing to a healthier lifestyle in the past three months, and it has worked very well for me. 

The app always gives me precise directions for taking the necessary nutrients according to my plan, and I have also learned a lot of nutritional facts about the foods I consume every day. I would say it is an unexpected bonus to this product, as it helps me remember what kind of foods I should or should not take, even during long trips when I don't have access to the physical plate.

As a medical professional and healthcare consultant, I would love to introduce SmartPlate to anyone who is interested in managing their own health. I also believe it might be a perfect tool for people who are suffering from diabetes, on weight loss programs, or dealing with any chronic health conditions.

Have had trouble with getting the plate to connect with the app, along with subscription issues. At least in my case, I have sent several emails and left a voicemail on their supposed customer support line and received no contact back from either attempt. Like another review left here, guess I’ll need to change my credit card on file because there isn’t a way to do it through the app or website, to spite claims to the contrary. A shame, because it was being used until I started having these problems.

I’m still giving 3 stars because of my great experiences with the owner helping me out. But this is what, a year and a half later? Give or take… I decided to give the app a try today for the first time since I first got it. I figured the glitches should be worked out. So far it’s still unusable. I input my food and it tracked everything to the previous day. I tried to copy it to today, nothing happens. Can’t delete, nothing. I also find it really hard to believe, compared to all the other apps I’ve used, that the health kit integration is accurate. It’s giving me way too many calories back in credit. I really wanted to like this, but from what I can tell this shouldn’t have been released at all. It’s too far from ready. A beta is one thing, but this is years now since their initial release.

This is a complete scam, I’m convinced the reviews must be fake. There is no customer service, I am unable to use the app, no way to cancel, no response from the email or phone that goes straight to VM, no response to my BBB complaint. I’m going to have to issue a fraud alert and change my cc info now as a last resort to keep them from charging me every month.

I was very excited about this. The idea seems great but the app is lacking in options compared to other food trackers. No hydration tracking. When I add a food in manually or by barcode scan I can’t pick to measure by g or oz instead of the “serving size” listed - example - I added in frozen vegetables. I ate the whole pack which says about 4 servings, I know how many grams it was but that it wasn’t 4 full servings, but I can’t switch from measuring the 2/3 cup serving to a g or oz or anything. That would be helpful where I could choose how much to put in by something other then just the serving size on the packet.

I've been hunting for a food tracker that focused on nutrition above calorie counting for ages. Programs I've used in the past that focused on calorie tracking left me feeling guilty about food choices and lead me to choose low-calorie items regardless of nutritional benefit. I stayed hungry on those programs. SmartPlate tells me not just calories - it tracks protein, carbs, fats. It actually tells me (!) if I don’t eat enough or too much. Genius!
