I use it at home, and it does require a phone w stable stand to scan the lanes up to 6. It has what appears to be great addons like weather and pit stops etc for xtra$. I’m running t-jets so only need the basics. Keeps track of drivers and cars w photos, announcements w drivers names (or whatever you want it to say), set up maintenance reminder for cars by entering # of laps between intervals. I could go on and on about it and have only touched it gently. And not working even I quit and reenter the app. Unless I delete the app and reinstall it. But then all my previous informations in the app is gone… Simple issue but super annoying ### 3/5 — Confusing monetization *2026-01-04, version 7.2.1* The App Store page shows add ons like Penalties and Weather for $3.99 but I cannot find a way to actually purchase them. The only way to access them is a hefty premium subscription on top of an already paid app. ### 3/5 — No How To Videos *2021-03-23, version 4.0.4* Let me say before I start with the review that Iv only had my Carrera Track for a day and Iv only played with the app for a couple of hours and I’m sure after a number of days playing with the app my star rating would go up. My main gripe and the three stars is there is no YouTube videos or literature I can find to help me set it up. For example when I try to use the app, when I start a race it come up with a warning message on the app, something about 100% fuel. Also I’m running a ghost car which after many times of trying that I think Iv worked out has to be setup on controller 8, but who knows cause there is no where for me to read up or find out about it. This app is comprehensive and for someone that’s new to having a Carrera Track and SmartRace app needs some How to videos put up on YouTube by the good folks that have developed this app and/or a pdf manual you can download. ### 3/5 — Sehr schöne App aber *2019-07-07* Die App an sich ist wirklich gelungen, wird weiterentwickelt und auf Mails wird zügig geantwortet. 2 Sterne Abzug gibt es wegen dem hohen Preis der gerade noch ok ist allerdings ist das dann auch keine Vollversion. Simuliertes Wetter kostet nochmal 4€, Meisterschaft nochmal 4€, Schäden am Fahrzeug 2€ und der Server nochmal 4€. Über 20€ ist echt heftig. Wem es das wert ist der bekommt allerdings eine richtig gute App. **Developer response:** Servus Tom! Freut mich, dass Dir SmartRace gefällt. Du hast recht, der Preis für die App + alle Add-Ons ist natürlich nicht günstig. Allerdings steckt auch eine ganze Menge Arbeit drin - und trotzdem ist SmartRace auch ohne Add-Ons eine echte Vollversion, denn es gibt keinerlei Beschränkungen, die man gegen zusätzliches Geld freischalten muss (wie es bei Demo-Versionen der Fall ist), sondern nur zusätzliche Funktionen, die nicht jeder braucht und die (eben in Form von Add-Ons) zusätzlich erworben werden können. Ob die Funktionen das Geld wert sind, das sie kosten, kann und darf jeder selbst entscheiden. It’s easy to learn and use, it is constantly being improved and you can capture car related data. The data allows you to know your fleet and number of vehicles by scale. The usage stats are great for scheduled maintenance and if a car has a problem allows you the enter the problem, remember the vehicle and log the repair, saving time in dealing with future issues/repairs. This programme is superior in functionality to the Carrera programme and I highly recommend you download and start using it today! ### 5/5 — A must Have app *2026-07-08, version 8.1.0* This app is incredible.
