## What is SmartTransfer Japan Transit?

SmartTransfer finds train and bus routes in Japan, with station names in your language and in English.

SWITCH TRAINS WHILE YOU TRAVEL
After you start a trip, switch to the train before or after without searching again. Your later connections and arrival time update with it. Handy when a transfer goes faster or you stop on the way.

SEE WHERE YOU ARE ON THE LOCK SCREEN
Your current station, the next one and the stops left to your transfer or destination appear on your lock screen and Apple Watch.

TAP TO SEARCH
Pick a start and a destination. You don't have to choose train or bus first: the app shows the routes it can find and compares arrival time, number of transfers and travel time.

STATIONS ACROSS JAPAN
8,987 stations and 602 lines. Where no timetable is available, the app shows the lines to take and an arrival estimate from Apple Maps.

TIMETABLE ROUTES
Where timetables are available, you get departure and arrival times, walking time for transfers and waiting time, and can switch to the train before or after.

LIVE BUS POSITIONS
For supported bus companies, see where your bus is on a stop diagram and on the map.

Notes
- Fares, live delays and special timetables are not supported. Check the operator for actual service.
- Timetables and positions depend on the data each operator publishes.
- Data from seven private railways and JR East is used under the Public Transportation Open Data Challenge limited license until March 11, 2027.
