For year no problem but now already too long. It should be the problem in the web system of Smartwares but they do not report or give any impute or contact. With their own video doorbell you don’t get any sign of someone ringing at the door. ### 2/5 — No Notifications, No Connection *2021-07-13* The camera no longer sends notifications to any of our devices and constantly fails to connect, didn’t have any issues for the first 2 years of owning it. We are now having to turn off and on almost on a daily basis to get it to connect, really disappointed as we recommended to a number of friends and family who are also experiencing the same issues. ### 2/5 — Fix it! *2021-07-03* This app has never been geart but its done a job up till now. For over a month notifications have not been coming through to our phones. Smartwares are aware of the problem but unless you contact them you wouldn’t know. The app stopped working in June so I contacted the manufacturer. Initially no response which was really frustrating. Eventually they told me that push notifications had stopped. This means when the bell rings you can’t hear it! This went on for some time so I had to remove the bell from my door. I got fed up so got my money back from the shop. A good product ruined by zero technical support and customer care. I’ve now bought a E*** one. It’s brilliant! I’ll never buy a Byron product again because they don’t give a fig about their customers. ### 1/5 — Not good *2021-01-29* I don’t get any notifications whenever the bell’s rang. Unfortunately it’s been problematic from the day of installation. The bell tends to ring after being pressed an hour prior to me hearing any sound. Both are now showing ‘Wrong DID’ on the App and not connecting. Nothing appears to being done to fix this with no updates to the App appearing, to fix the issue . Der Aufbau dauert ewig und klingen bringt nichts, da die App keinerlei Benachrichtigung liefert. Vielleicht sollte man zu Ring wechseln, da kümmert man sich um Updates und Funktionalität. Das macht meines Erachtens kein gutes Bild auf Smartwares. Ich muss mich fragen, wo denn da die Sicherheit bleibt, wenn hier meistens nichts funktioniert. Wollte eigentlich das ganze Haus und Grundstück mit Smartwares bestücken. Aber nachdem ich feststellen muss, dass hier nichts funktioniert, werde ich mich natürlich anderweitig umsehen. Would recommend. ### 5/5 — iOS 13 issues *2019-10-12, version 1.4.0* The app it doesn’t work with iOS 13. ### 5/5 — This for the Smartwares guardian CIP-39901 *2019-05-31, version 1.3.6* This is a great app for the guardian light and camera, i must admit I was not sure this was the correct app for the Smartwares guardian, mainly because of the other reviews, the other reviews were doorbells not Smartwares devices, but I phoned there customer service and they were very helpful. It works really well, some of the instructions are not very clear, like hold the mic icon down to speak and a icon on screen will appear, but once you use it a few times it’s great, the advanced menu has all the options you need, and can very quickly adjust the light, siren or just talk, all from the cameras menu, It’s easy to add a second camera. ### 4/5 — No notifications - solution *2021-11-22* I chose the Byron smart doorbell because I wanted to hardwire the network to ensure good connectivity. All was great until notifications stopped working recently. I saw all the comments around notifications not working through this app on the App Store and figured that the doorbell would have to go in the bin. However, I spoke with Smartwares customer support who got me to add a second (partnering) app to deal with the iOS push notifications. The app is OMGUARD HD. Was really easy to setup (apparently because the doorbell was already setup in the SMARTWARES app). All is working well again - notifications coming through as expected. Hopefully this is useful to anyone else out there trying to fix this issue! ### 3/5 — DID incorrect *2025-12-26, version 1.4.3* Since a couple of days there is an error in several camera’s, “DID onjuist/incorrect”. Resulting in no use of the camera, not even the picture is visible. Resetting the camera helps to get the picture back but once you connect to your local SSID the image and the functions no longer appear, very frustating. Merci le SAV ### 3/5 — Google Drive files limitation *2020-09-24, version 1.4.3* Can you please remove the limitation on the number of files which are uploaded to Google? Or increase it - 64GB worth of files? Currently only a limited number of files is uploaded to Google and then they are overwritten. Also, how can I download the files to a PC? There is no windows app and downloading a day worth of events to iPhone is time consuming, you don’t have a “Download all” option either. I have the camera IP in LAN but no port to access and download the files. Please advise! ### 3/5 — Needs more work *2019-05-05* Too many false alerts. I think...? *2019-01-11* Downloaded this for the Byron Video Doorbell. Everything seems to work as it should, however, the notifications are a bit sporadic?!? Seem to get notifications for a while then not, then they come back, on and off with no noticeable reason? Not sure if it’s the app or the doorbell, but, on checking, everything else about the doorbell appears to working exactly as it should?!?
