Definitely is not worth a try. ### 2/5 — Automatic Logout *2026-06-16, version 2.1.3* Every time you re-open the app, it logs you out. When you are actually in the app, it’s quite useful and works well Also, the app doesn’t support dark app icons that plenty of other apps do, including competing apps. The actual network coverage is average, but great price and data plans. But today I had received a new SIM and I couldn’t activate it via the app- the text box wouldn’t accept any entries. It keeps telling me they are both incorrect. I need this sorting out asap. Having to constantly sign in !!!! ### 3/5 — Great app and service, but please stop logging me out *2026-02-15, version 2.1.0* This is a great and useful app. I like the clear and simple interface and the ease of managing multiple accounts. However, the app logs me out roughly every 2-3 days, and sends an email every single time I log in. This is very frustrating— it’d be much better if you could set up a PIN lock or Touch/Face ID instead of having to enter your login details all the time. As for the SMARTY service itself, it’s absolutely wonderful. It’s cheap, yet offers so much value and speeds are comparable to the big networks. I especially appreciate the lack of annual price rises and free EU roaming up to 12GB. My only gripes are the lack of both Visual Voicemail and RCS support on iOS. I hope these can be added in the future. Thank you, SMARTY. ### 1/5 — Down *2026-01-27, version 2.1.0* One of the most disappointing network, no customer services as this is an online network but that’s not the issue, network so bad internet so slow with unlimited data and the worst part is when top up if not an auto expect to lose few hours after topping it up not going to work it say it can take up to 30mins lie it’s minimum an hour very disappointing. If take the money should be able to provide service but no, and this is is three networks rubbish. Being logged out so regularly is quite frustrating. Lots of people reporting this but still not fixed! ### 1/5 — Simply doesn’t work *2025-12-09, version 2.0.4* I’ve used Smarty for several years, but the current app just doesn’t work. The log in page doesn’t do anything. Even the need help button doesn’t do anything. This wouldn’t matter so much if there was any way of getting support but there isn’t. The “contact us” button on the web site doesn’t contact Smarty. If there’s no new working release soon, I’ll change to another network. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Still constantly logs you out *2026-07-16, version 2.1.4* Another update and no fix! Useless, every time I go to use the app it has logged me out. Lots of people reporting this but still not fixed! One of the lowest scored mobile apps on the AppStore and still they do nothing about it! ### 1/5 — Hopeless *2026-07-07, version 2.1.3* Some time ago, I added my wife’s mobile to my account. She never used it and with her agreement, I removed her mobile from the account. I now find that MY account has been changed, without any contact with me being made, to her old number and name! I am still using my mobile, hers is lost and Smarty can no longer be contacted directly, ### 1/5 — Avoid Smarty😤 *2026-06-26, version 2.1.3* If you plan on using your mobile data to its max, expect slow connection and the constant restarting of your phone to access the internet you paid for! Even with unlimited data the connection was terrible and every 10-15 minutes it pretty much stops working. The most frustrating part is that the app was amazing when i was using about 17G out of my 40G plan every month, but as soon as i started using 25+ it started slowing down on me. Likewise it does not do carry over so every month it restarts despite you having excess and i found that other some other companies don’t do this. Moreover you cant change plans even though u have run out of internet, all you can do is top up until the plan timeline has ended for that month. Therefore expect paying your monthly internet bill (and some more) for less internet. In summary the app is predatory and when time gets tough (aka increasing data use during exam season or whatever it may be) trust that Smarty is not a reliable internet source! ### 1/5 — age verification *2026-06-01, version 2.1.3* wants me to complete an additional age verification on top of the one i’ve completed on my phone or it’ll restrict the content I have access to, this restriction of content was not mentioned in the terms of the agreement additionally, if you can’t use a credit card in order to verify your age, they make you send a separate email and it isn’t possible to do it within the app ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-05-12, version 2.1.2* This is a POS ### 1/5 — Crooks *2026-05-06, version 2.1.1* I’ve got to be honest - they seem to be crooks. I got fed up with the bad signal dropouts from Smarty so I requested a PAC code, and changed to another provider. Smarty were by law required to cancel my rolling one month contract, but they just carried on taking money from my account. I requested a refund. After six hours they still hadn’t agreed (it was only £8!) so I have resorted to opening a case with PayPal. BE VERY CAREFUL! ### 1/5 — Astoundingly BAD!! *2026-04-11, version 2.1.1* Who ever heard of such a thing!! I want to upgrade to unlimited “£20 a month” can’t do that until the £5 plan resets even though it has run out.
