## What is Smastar?

See your day through — without missing what matters.

Smastar keeps your day free of gaps, from your morning wake-up through everything that follows. It wakes you with your schedule read aloud, then keeps you ahead of your events and tasks — catching missed calendar entries and forgotten items before they happen. Built entirely on Apple's native frameworks. Your data stays on your device.

■ Never miss an important event across multiple calendars
When work and personal calendars are split across Apple, Google, and Outlook, it's easy to miss a key meeting. Smastar automatically brings together every calendar on your device in one view. Set up to 3 pre-alarms for any event — including tomorrow's, so you can prepare the night before — so "it already started" never happens again, with a spoken reminder at the start time, too.

■ A checklist to stop forgotten items on the go
Ever dozed off on the train and scrambled at your stop, leaving something behind? Add a checklist to any to-do. Items like "umbrella," "documents," or "keys" appear right with your alarm — catching those slips at the moment you act, before you leave or step off.

■ Stay on top of what needs doing
・To-Dos: Start times, repeats, up to 3 pre-alarms, checklists, notes with tappable links, and completion tracking. Even with the alarm off, you're notified at the start time.
・Habits: Track your daily streaks, reflected in the next morning's briefing.

■ Wake up clear-headed, to your voice
・A full morning briefing: time, weather, today's schedule, habits, and to-dos — so you wake up taking in the day, not hitting snooze.
・Paste a link into a to-do and it appears on the alarm screen — tap once to stop the alarm and go straight to the news, the route, or whatever starts your day.
・Toggle Alarm Sound and Readout independently for each alarm, with sound selection. Turn both off for silent, vibration-only alerts.

■ Health first — check in before your day begins
Nothing matters more than your own health. If you use Apple's Health app or an Apple Watch, Smastar's Health tab shows your resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), VO2 max, walking heart rate, BMI, and sleep duration at a glance. Did you sleep well last night? Is your body ready? Get a quick read before you start your day.

■ Focus and rest
・Built-in focus and sleep music player, always a tap away.

■ Privacy first
・No third-party SDKs, ever.
・Location, calendar, and health data are processed on your device and never sent anywhere.

From your morning wake-up to your daytime planning to your evening wind-down — Smastar quietly helps you see your day through.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.1 — 2026-08-24

Clearer to read, and more reliable.

■ Bigger weather, with chance of rain
The Wake-up tab now shows four time slots — now, +3h, +6h, and +9h — at a much larger size, so you can check before bed whether rain is coming before morning. Chance of rain now appears on both the Home and Wake-up screens.

■ Built for larger text
Layouts have been reworked for the largest text sizes. Step counts and habits on Home, the metrics and activity calendar in Health, the habit editor, the music player, and the alarm editor no longer clip, truncate, or overlap.

■ Changing an alarm's time turns it back on
A one-time alarm switches itself off after it rings. Now, changing its time turns it back on, so an alarm you meant to reuse won't stay silent.

■ Other fixes
・Fixed a missing character in Japanese dates.
・The Japanese "Month Day (weekday)" format is now offered only when the app language is Japanese.
・Fixed a rare crash on launch.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-18

From the night before to the morning after — fewer things slip through.

■ Set alarms for tomorrow's events
Alarms used to be available only for today's events. Now you can set them the night before, so tomorrow is ready before you sleep. Pre-alarms (up to 3) work here too.

■ Notes for your to-dos
Keep reference text with any to-do. Paste a link and tap to open it in the app or site it belongs to — so "read this when I wake up" is ready the night before. Notes are never read aloud.

■ Go straight from the alarm to what's next
When an alarm is ringing, a link appears on screen. Tap it to stop the alarm and go straight there. Wake up, and start the day.

■ Notable fixes
・Fixed an issue where alarms could stop ringing after you dismissed one from Apple Watch or the Lock Screen.
・Changing the time on a to-do that already went off now turns its alarm back on automatically — no more silently missed alarms.
・Fixed per-alarm readout delay settings not being saved.
・Further improved pronunciation of station and place names.
・Fixed URLs in event and to-do titles being read aloud character by character.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-07

Major improvements to voice readout.

■ Station and city names across Japan
Names of stations and municipalities across Japan (about 11,900 entries) are now pronounced correctly — like "Kakogawa Station" in your event titles, read naturally.

■ More accurate pronunciation
Fixed mispronunciations of company names and abbreviations. A built-in dictionary of ~570 terms now ensures business terms, brand names, and acronyms are read correctly.

■ Natural readout for mixed-language events
Events mixing English and Japanese (like "Meeting 準備") are now read with the right voice for each part — English words in an English voice, Japanese in a Japanese voice. Also fixed an issue where Japanese events were silent when the app language was set to English.

■ Better voice quality
Higher-quality voices are now selected correctly, and in-app readout audio quality has been improved. Common abbreviations like "MTG" and "ASAP" are now spoken naturally as "meeting" and "as soon as possible."

■ Custom pronunciations on the Lock Screen
Pronunciations you register now apply to Lock Screen alarm audio as well.

■ Other fixes

Improved readout for below-zero temperatures
Fixed a mispronunciation in the voice preview sample
Refreshed app icon design

### 1.1.1 — 2026-07-16

We've made getting started clearer.
・A new intro summarizes your 7-day free trial and key features up front.
・Improved plan display so the free period and pricing are easy to see at a glance.
・Minor improvements and stability fixes.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-15

"See your day through — without missing what matters." Smastar has
grown beyond an alarm into an app that supports your whole day.

・New first-run onboarding: grant Location, Calendar, Health, and
Alarm permissions one screen at a time, each with a clear reason.

・Revamped To-Dos: start times, repeats, up to 3 pre-alarms, checklists,
and completion tracking. Checklists like "umbrella" or "documents"
help you avoid leaving things behind on the go.

・Up to 3 pre-alarms per calendar event, plus date format options.
All your calendars in one view, so key events never slip by.

・Toggle Alarm Sound and Readout independently for each alarm. Turn
both off for silent, vibration-only alerts.

・The Health tab now shows BMI and sleep duration, alongside heart
rate and VO2 max — check in on your body before the day begins.

・New focus and sleep music player.

・Alarm reliability improvements (foreground vibration, tone, readout).
