Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative provides this app free to customer-members who want to pay their bill on the go, report power outages, view SMECO’s outage map, and receive news releases from SMECO. All account management features require an active account. You will be required to provide some identifying information to pay your bill or report your outage, or you can log in using your SMECO Account Manager username and password. PAY YOUR BILL Make a quick, easy payment using your account number and zip code with your credit card, debit card, or bank account. For security purposes, your payment information is not stored on this app. REPORT YOUR OUTAGE SMECO makes it easy to report an outage and receive outage updates. You can also use this app to view SMECO’s outage map. Under normal conditions, the map shows the number of customers affected, the crew status, and the estimated time of restoration. Very frustrating! Hopefully, the app will get an overhaul and fix the consistent issue! ### 2/5 — Password issues *2025-07-30* Just like everyone else says, when i enter my password correctly, it almost never works. It either forces me to reset my password, or i have to login through the browser to login with that password. It's really annoying. But when it actually works, everything works fine. Logging in is painful, if you can even get it to accept your credentials. ### 1/5 — Still Broke *2025-04-12* This app has not been updated in over a year. The password issue continues to linger. Which is to say that the password expires without telling the user. This requires calling Smeco and getting the password reset. The app password is also not tied to a biometric feature as many other apps do. This would make it more convenient for logging in. This app needs to be Updated now. ### 2/5 — Can’t Log In! *2025-04-10, version 2.0.9* Just like everyone else, I tried to download the app despite the reviews, and SURPRISE SURPRISE, it doesn’t recognize my username and password either! The only reason I keep it is because it will let me pay the bill without logging in, and is essentially acts faster than a bookmark to the website in my browser. ### 1/5 — Stopped working *2025-03-10* The app features stopped working a couple years ago and now the app doesn’t allow you to sign in at all. The web sign in still works but the app is completely useless. ### 1/5 — Just go to the website *2024-12-27* I agree with all the reviews that complain that it doesn’t work. It won’t allow me to sign in. I can use the same login credentials on the website and the work, so I am giving up on trying to use the app even though every communication from SMECO suggests you use the app. ### 1/5 — Totally Useless *2024-12-12, version 2.0.9* Can’t login doesn’t recognize my password. Website works fine. ### 1/5 — THE WORST *2024-01-31* I had no problem with this app for the first maybe year I used it. For at least six months now, it says invalid credentials. Acts like you forgot your password but won’t change it. Go to the website and everything is fine. So it’s a glitch in the app. Don’t bother with it. ### 1/5 — Why Bother! *2023-11-29* Worst app ever! Why bother having an app if it doesn’t work?! It takes more time trying to login than it does to pay a bill. Isn’t the purpose of an app to streamline the process? Fix it or get rid of it! ### 1/5 — New user can’t log in *2023-11-28* After reading the reviews from previous users I decided to give the app a try anyway, after noticing the update. New SMECO user just created a new account to login. As soon as I went to login it immediately said it cannot log me in and my password is incorrect. This is SAD that this complaint has existed for years and still hasn’t been corrected. Due better!
