Because of the size and type of construction there is nevers signal, and I will never get on public Wifi, so it's useless. The app is do bad, and the forced use to get deals has actually made us shop at Smith's far less than we used to. Kroger could pull up our Fresh Values number and see that our frequency over the past 10 years has declined to very infrequent, and it will coincide with the forced use of the app to get the best deals. For us, if we have to use an app to get a deal on groceries we have started using other delivery services. It used to be a fairly decent app. I don’t know who is over seeing it currently but they are very much AFK ### 3/5 — Ambitious, but too complicated *2026-08-14* Apparently, this app was brilliant in the past (4.8 stars from 90k reviews), but if you sort the reviews by “most recent first,” and you will find a lot of frustrated 1 and 2-Star reviews that indicate many unpopular changes have been made. I found an obvious ERROR when trying to add items to a shopping list: Let’s say you look for something by using the search bar. After scrolling through the list of choices, you’ll see the option to save it to a list, but it turns out that’s a non-functioning link (FIX THIS!!). As is, you must go to the “My lists” option underneath the icon of a person (top left of the Home Screen). Make sure the list you want to add it to has the “active” star. Now, go back to the item and select the faintly displayed “My list” symbol that is located next to the bold blue link that will add the item to your shopping cart. Now it’s in the list. Whew! That is way too much work. ### 3/5 — Recent Problems *2026-08-11, version 97.0.0* I usually love this app, but lately it seems to be having some issues. If I scan a barcode to add an item to my list, it doesn’t save the item. It will add an item to my list if I search for the item and add it. Next, when I’m shopping and have the aisle filter on, when I check an item off the list it puts everything else in the “other” aisle. I can’t afford the extra charges I just want to pick it up myself! When I physically go in the store to get these items myself they are on the shelf so there is no excuse as to why a picker can’t put it in my pickup bag! Why do you do this!? If I had time to physically shop every time I would but clearly I don’t. Every time we shop at Smiths I come home and check the receipt and every time there are errors. Today a produce item that was suppose to be on sale for 2 for $3. The two of them rang up at regular the price of $4.49 each. And yes I faithfully scan every item for digital coupons, I check to see if multiple items are required to get the discount and I always scan my membership at the checkout. If I question the price at checkout the employee will always say the price will adjust once I total the bill. But that’s not always the case. It saddens me that I can’t trust Smith’s pricing when other grocery stores’ apps doesn’t have any problem giving me an accurate price for their groceries. ### 1/5 — App is terrible *2026-07-16, version 96.1.0* Pharmacists are always saying use the app and then the app doesn’t work 90% of the time for prescriptions. ### 4/5 — Great App needs help with wallet *2026-07-07, version 95.3.0* The wallet errors are the most disappointing about this app. It has a had time pulling up stored cards, and sometimes it’ll show it but it won’t let you purchase with it saying there’s an error even though my bank says my card is fine. ### 1/5 — Buggiest app ever *2026-07-03, version 95.3.0* I use this app solely for the pharmacy, the app only functions about 30% of the time; I frequently cannot pick up meds on time because the app crashed or is unusable. There is no search on the main screen. There is no basket on the main screen. There is no way to access your current order on the main screen. I guess the app designers think you'll just accept it shop for what they recommend on the main screen. ### 1/5 — Rewards card broken! *2026-06-17, version 95.2.0* Dev team removed back end functionality to support reward card, so even though there is a menu option to add Fresh Values Reward Card to Apple Wallet you receive a Technical Difficulties error message. This means you also can't get notifications when you are in store. Contacted customer service and was told that functionality was no longer active, so apparently instead of improving the app they are making it worse. ### 3/5 — Unwanted Pushes *2026-06-16, version 95.2.0* Within the app, some of the shopping is convoluted, especially the deals, but manageable. I mostly use the app for pickup orders. What I loathe about Smiths is that the app pushes ads and deals that I don’t want as well as order notifications that I do want. I can always open the app if I’m looking for deals. They do not provide a breakdown of Push Preferences in the account settings, so I am either stuck with no push notifications or all the push notifications, which include promotions, suggestions, and other nonsense. This lack of control over notifications is all too common. ### 1/5 — Not user friendly! *2026-06-16, version 95.2.0* Kroger is SO SO SO very expensive, I avoid shopping there but the employees are all great, they’re amazing!And my favorite pharmacy. Whoever made this app obviously didn’t care. It’s dysfunctional, unintuitive and it’s just difficult to use. There are way too many options-options no one needs to see on the app. Maybe it’s my old phones fault but why doesn’t the app make me aware that it needs an update lol? The app opens and works like usual but when it’s time to pay at the register, not be of my coupons or ‘weekly deals’ are there. None of it better than it started. It’s like they are trying to push me away as a customer. I live in an area with plenty of other grocery options. The one reason I shop at smiths WAS because of the convenience of the app, making a shopping list and it telling you what aisles everything is in when you go to shop. The app is so annoying to use now, so I might as well shop at the store closer to my house. Whatever new executive is pushing the constant changes…YOU ARE WRONG. Before, the search button was at the top of the page of the Home Screen & you could quickly and easily search. Now you have to click on the bottom right, which then takes you to another page where the search box is at the top of the page. What’s the worst part of the update is how you can no longer click on an item’s picture and enlarge the image. You used to be able to, but not anymore. So now if I want to read details of the item, I have to take a screenshot on my phone to be able to zoom in to read it. Don’t use their delivery services at all. Absolutely terrible. They don’t refund tips if an order is not completed. Then they make you jump through AI loops to be able to talk to someone who can help and by that time you have to re-enter all the info you gave the AI. For some reason the AI can’t remember your answers so you end up entering it multiple times. They use instacart delivery services and that has been a disaster. Incompetent all around. Never could get the address right even with clear instructions. Smiths and Instacart get the lowest scores possible for not caring about their customers or services they offer. I recommend using completely different services if you dont want to feel swindled or frustrated with each step of the order. ### 1/5 — Would give zero stars if possible. *2026-08-18, version 97.1.0* Just learned this app is now gonna start introducing AI into its app. Absolutely awful just makes this company look cheap. Was definitely buggy before now I can’t imagine the problems I’m gonna have after this stupid update. Reminder AI in the United States, uses roughly 450,000,000 gallons of water. All of these apps are using AI and incorporating it in their app. When our earth runs out of water, all of these companies should be to blame. From the start, everything about it felt simple and easy to figure out. I didn’t have to spend time watching tutorials or guessing what to do — the layout just makes sense. It’s clean, fast, and super easy to navigate, which makes it stand out compared to a lot of other apps I’ve tried. What I really like is how consistent it is. The app never lags or crashes, and every update just seems to make it even better. You can tell the team behind it actually listens to feedback and cares about improving the experience. I’ve had zero issues, and it’s been smooth every single time I’ve used it. Another thing I appreciate is the design. It’s simple but looks really professional, and it’s clear a lot of effort went into making it feel modern and fresh. Everything is laid out perfectly — not too crowded, but still gives you everything you need right where you’d expect it. Overall, The Smith App deserves every bit of a 5-star rating. It’s reliable, easy to use, and genuinely makes things easier in my day. When you clip the coupon there’s no more option to see your clipped coupons. Can you fix this please? Or maybe I’m missing something because before the update I got to see the clipped coupons in the coupon menu and now it’s gone. ### 5/5 — The best delivery service in the game *2024-03-19* I got the Boost membership for the free delivery and it’s fantastic. I get the same things and a similar order on Uber Eats was $9 more IN FEES! and $4 less in item cost… I like how the estimated time is ALWAYS met, on other services they say “15 to 25” but it’s usually more like 45-50 minutes Smith’s has figured out hope to over deliver (pun intended) without under selling what they offer. I thought I was saving a ton of $ with my regular Smith card but in the App they tell you if what you’re buying has a coupon available and I’ve prob saved $50 that way alone - the Boost thing isn’t expensive and pays for itself even if you never got food delivered but the free same day delivery on $35 and up is amazing and they don’t try and ram rod you into a 20% tip which I like, let me make that call, for delivery I have my own tiers like minimum $5 on any order $10 for more than my personal food and then $15 and up for bigger orders it usually works out to around 15-18% - a 20% tip on a $200 order makes zero sense to me … ok that’s it!! ### 5/5 — Online pickup total is deceiving *2023-02-16* For the most part I really like this app. It makes finding coupons and deals easy so I can shop smart and saves my preferences so I don’t have to think about it. However, I am disappointed in the online order self pickup portion of this app. I made my order on a Tuesday and went to pick up my order the next day and most of my savings was gone because the store discontinues its weekly sales on Wednesdays. The part that was frustrating was that the app still said I was going to get my weekly sale items at their discounted price. There wasn’t any notice letting me know that these items weren’t on sale anymore and I ended up bitting the bullet and paying the extra money cause I had already strapped my kid in the car and drove the 25 minutes to Smiths when the nice girl dropping off my groceries confirmed my bill. **Developer response:** Thank you for the review and feedback. I love Smith’s! I love the product, the service and the convenience of using the app and inside the store shopping. I am never dissatisfied nor disappointed in my experience. Remember to think ahead for Christmas shopping and purchase your gift cards either at your closest location or look to see if you can receive them via email.
