## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-04-07

**Clipboard Detection: We Read Your Mind (Almost)**

You copied a message. You opened Smooth Exit. We already knew. The text is just... there. Waiting. Like a butler who anticipated your needs before you spoke. Copy in WhatsApp, open Smooth Exit, reply is ready. Two taps. We counted.

**Home Screen Widget**

A tiny "Paste & Reply" button. Lives on your home screen. One tap and you're in. We'd make it zero taps but Apple said no.

**Community Intelligence**

Every time you copy a reply, the universe learns. Not your messages — we don't read those — just which tones and styles people actually use. The more everyone uses Smooth Exit, the smarter it gets. Your laziness is now helping humanity.

**Also**

Share Extension works in Safari, Notes, and Mail. For WhatsApp and Instagram, use the clipboard trick above. We tried to make it work everywhere. Apple had other plans.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-03-02

iCloud Sync: The Sequel Nobody Asked For

Turns out iCloud was syncing your preference TO sync, but forgetting about it the moment you reinstalled. Like a goldfish with a clipboard. Fixed. Your sync preference now lives in iCloud itself, so after a reinstall, everything comes right back. We're aware of the irony.

Relationships Got Ambitious
You can now add up to 7 custom relationships beyond the defaults. Neighbor. Therapist. That guy from CrossFit who keeps texting. Dimmed chips mean "off on Home" — we even wrote it down this time because apparently visual cues weren't enough.

We Fixed The Invisible Text Problem
All helper text across the entire app was using a color designed for borders. On a light background. In size 13 font. Basically a ghost whispering at you. Every caption is now actually readable. In both light AND dark mode. Groundbreaking stuff.

Also
Hold a relationship chip to rename, edit personality, or delete it.

### 1.4 — 2026-03-01

Remember your saved replies? Yeah, iCloud didn't. Turns out our sync was about as reliable as a "maybe" at a dinner party. We found the problem buried in an entitlements file — basically iCloud had been pretending to work while doing absolutely nothing. Classic move. We fixed it. Your data now actually travels between devices. Revolutionary concept, we know.

Pro Relationships Got a Glow-Up

Add up to 7 custom relationships beyond the defaults. Neighbor, Coach, That One Colleague Who Won't Stop Inviting You To Lunch — you name it, literally
Renamed chips now stay put when you toggle them off. No more vanishing acts
Dimmed chips in Settings = hidden from Home. We even wrote a little label for it because apparently not everyone reads minds
Fresh Excuses, Daily

Every day brings a brand new excuse. Some are funny. Some are sweet. Some are a chaotic blend of both. We rotate so your boss never gets suspicious
Your weekly gem? Same system, just slower. Like the free version of life
Also Fixed

The "Save" button in Add Relationship now actually saves. It had one job. ONE JOB
Personality presets for custom relationships so your neighbor gets different energy than your therapist
We'd say "sorry for the inconvenience" but honestly, writing excuses is kind of our whole thing.

### 1.3 — 2026-02-28

Your Excuses just got a serious upgrade!

No more recycled excuses. Gems are now freshly crafted every day (Pro) or week (Free) — and never the same one twice. We track past gems and reject anything that's too similar. Because you deserve original lies.

More stuff in this update:

Your preferences now sync via iCloud
Switch between iPhone and iPad without losing what the app has learned about you. Yes, it remembers you always pick the lazy excuse. It's not judging you. Much.

Reset Learning Data in Settings
Want a fresh start? One tap and the app forgets everything it knows about you. Like your ex, but faster.

The app now learns what you DON'T like too
Dismiss an excuse and we take notes. Keep rejecting the formal ones and we'll stop suggesting them. We can take a hint. Unlike your coworker who still invites you to Friday drinks.

The gem counter actually works now
It was stuck on 0 before. Not because nobody used it, but because the backend and the app disagreed on what "empty" means. Classic couples counseling, but with code.

Onboarding got a makeover
New structure, prettier pages. You'll probably never see it again, but new users will love it. Or at least swipe through it really fast.

Your couch called. It says you should stay home.

### 1.2 — 2026-02-20

While you were sleeping, we hunted down the bugs preventing subscriptions. They didn't stand a chance.
