The app worked great for the first several years, letting us control the lights using our Alexa and scheduled timers. It was nice to be able to change the hue of the light as well. Sometimes the lights would get out of sync with the Wi-Fi and flash on and off though until we could get it to reset. However, a few months ago, my daughter’s light stopped reacting to the schedule, so I went to log into this app and it is telling me that my username and password (which were saved in my phone) are incorrect. It will not let me login and there is no forgotten password link on the app. I’m trying to reach the customer service for Support and it looks like their website is not working either. I have no idea how to access the control panel for the lights and she is frustrated about the hue that it is currently stuck on. I know we could return the light to Costco, but we had to pay an electrician to install it for us and it’s not something we can just easily uninstall and return. ### 2/5 — device offline *2024-01-26, version 1.4.1* i loved it when i first got it, i thought being able to change the colour of my light was so cool. then it just kept saying “device offline” while my light was on so i deleted the app and went to go re install it when it said “cannot be downloaded in canadian stores” ### 3/5 — Lights *2022-11-05, version 1.4* The lights are bright and everything but this tape that you have on them is terrible like I had them up for an hour and a half and they were already Fallin ### 1/5 — Does not work on iOS 16 *2022-09-22, version 1.3* The app no longer works on any iPhone since iOS 16. My SMRTLite lights are stuck in the last setting before I upgraded my iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone XS Max and iPhone 13 Pro to iOS 16. I reset one of the lights but it went into a non stop strobing effect. So now that light is effectively useless. When opening the app the only feature that does work is the dimming slider on the light wheel. But all other features like adjusting colour are inaccessible now and the app freezes. My only option is to replace all my SMRTLite lights and ditch the brand OR wait around for a fix. At the time of writing this, it has been 6 months since the last app update. Should I wait around for a fix or move on to another brand? ### 4/5 — Offline problem *2022-08-31, version 1.3* I have three light strips. One in the kitchen works fine, the one on the porch always say weak signal and the one on the deck gets offline repeatedly. Mere 30’ away from the router and SMRTlite devices gets offline while other devices like a bluetooth speaker and wifi water timers are never offline. Something is wrong with the app or the hardware? Porch light strip won’t connect anymore. ### 1/5 — Unresponsive *2022-07-20, version 1.3* These lights worked flawlessly for me for a couple of months. Suddenly, my LED strip was constantly "offline" and no matter how many times I followed all of the steps, nothing will bring it back online. Very occasionally I can make it work by disconnecting the device and reconfiguring it, but even so, after about 5 minutes of normal operation the device is labelled as offline yet again. This typically comes immediately after I try to adjust the brightness or colour of the light. Beyond frustrating, especially since they are mounted in such a way that the remote is not easily accessible. Plus, I wouldn't have bought bluetooth lights if I wanted to rely on a remote. Very disappointed with this product and wish the developers would resolve the connectivity issues - judging the countless other reviews saying they can't connect their devices I don't think this is a me problem. ### 2/5 — SMRTLite striplite. *2022-07-04, version 1.3* I’m having problems with it with Alexa. ### 3/5 — Wireless function keeps disconnecting from the internet *2022-06-21, version 1.3* I really like this light it does everything I want it to accept I have lots of issues with it disconnecting from wifi and flashing for set up. It takes a while to get it reconnected and can be frustrating. I have many devices that use wifi in my home and none of them seem to have this issue. There is also a wifi booster right feet away from it so that’s not the problem either. ### 3/5 — Great lights. Bad iPhone app *2022-04-27, version 1.3* Lights are great for night lights for the kids but using the iPhone app is very frustrating. Sometimes when you press one light, another light below it will come up, poor calibration. Also when switching from one light to another on the same app, you have to close the app in order to switch between lights. The app works well when it connects to the WiFi signal. Sometimes it doesn't want to and then it's pretty useless. The app itself is clunky and could use much needed improvement. I’ve tried for hours and hours on end to try to reconnect my light to the app. It will not detect it no matter what I do so now I’m stuck with a damn strobe light until I rewire the fixture. This has been a problem since day 1 two years ago. Now, there is zero customer support. Not even a tutorial.
