It not only does what it says it should do, it does it well. But that’s not all. Support for this app has been better than any other I’ve had over the past 10 years I’ve been using an iPhone. Note that my reasons for contacting support were not for problems with the app, but rather questions about the app’s capabilities as well as requesting potential enhancements or upgrades. I am not only grateful for what this app has done to reduce my SMS spam, I’m glad I’m using an app that is being overseen by those that would listen to users and continue to work to make it even better. And. For the record. This was my first ever (that I recall) app review - and it was *SO* not solicited! ### 5/5 — Works As Advertised *2020-09-04* I was getting spam text everyday. I suddenly started to get bombarded by SMS spam daily and I was desperate for a solution. This app does the trick! You can fine tune a ton of settings to block and allow exactly what you want. The developer is really responsive to feedback as well! As an added bonus there’s no subscription model crap. You pay 3 bucks once and it’s yours for life. This is the first one that actually blocked an unknown text message. I had to add all of my verification code phone numbers as a company contact to allow them to go to receive notifications for them. I will have to add more as I go along. They know my first name, and send from a different number every time, so it’s impossible to filter them out. It really infuriates me when I get a notification for what turns out to be spam. I’ve tried several spam-call blocking apps, but none of them were able to simply filter SMS messages from numbers not in my contact list. Initially I was concerned my messages were being screened through their server but my understanding is tbis is not the case. I don’t have a need for the pre-made block list they’ve put together since I’m using the option to block anyone not in my contact list. Not sure if this has any affect on local device performance, but none that I can tell. I do have to remind myself to check the new tab periodically, but getting rid of the annoying alerts for useless messages and robos was my goal and this works perfectly! One request for the developer that’s probably simple: would it be possible to sort (or add an option to sort) the list of words I have allowed? My iPhone doesn’t have any protection against it so after seeing the reviews from this app I decided to give it a shot. I have also added a few numbers and a few words to my blocked list to block some more text messages. After all this setup the application is working like a charm. This is a good application. Does what it claims to do and not overcomplicated ### 5/5 — Yes, it works great *2020-02-06* After trying the application for a few days, I could happily say that the application is working great. It blocks spam and has various features like I could manually add the words that i would like to be blocked from a sms. For example : I was getting a spam sms that contained the word called “Job”. I added this word to the blocked word section of the application and the sms of that nature never troubled me again. Also most of the time the application intelligently auto detects and blocks the spam sms. The good thing about the application is you could “tune” it as per your needs using the features that it offers. And needles to say that it also have a good privacy policy. I reached out to the developer for assistance. They responded with copy-pasted instructions on how to get a refund which do not work. Now I’m out the cost of the app. Buyer beware. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t filter *2023-02-13, version 2.0* Hi just purchased the soft for filter spam sms from phone not listed on my contact. I add the number to block list and isn’t stopped the sms from unwanted caller. Have ios 16.3 Will ask refund I set enable and all what needs, know how to work with filters. It uses a simple word list. As a result, it blocks loads of texts—including most of the texts from restaurants, dentists, banks, etc) that I’d like to get. ### 2/5 — So far, not impressed *2020-07-16, version 1.7* I downloaded this app yesterday with high hopes. I dutifully put in the key word that is in every message I want blocked. This morning, I got another unwanted text, from the same source, with the same keyword in it. Not impressed, but we’ll see, I guess. I’ll see what happens. ### 3/5 — Not worth it *2025-04-16* I had hoped that paying for an sms spam stopper would get me a good product. I’ve been using it for a couple of months. Half of the messages in the filtered folder are not spam, and tons of spam does not get filtered. ### 3/5 — More false positives than anything... *2019-07-08* A few things to consider for people who really want to make the most of this app and others as such... Make a contact name for most incoming SMS confirmations, codes, notifications, etc. This thing will block most of them. Unless they are "a contact" they will be sent to "junk". Not a big issue because all you have to do is open the junk tab to read it (it is much harder if an email is sent to Spam folder). The app needs a "confirmation" mechanism. Like "Not Spam" so that the number is whitelisted automatically for you, without the need to create a new contact every time. The worst part about this app, is getting a new iPhone. If you don't delete the spam messages, expect them to be in your MAIN tab as soon as you recover content to your new iPhone. Please improve the app... For example if you whitelist the word “otp” , the messages from even the unknown numbers containing the word “otp” will be treated as legitimate sms and will not be sent to junk. If a SMS from a sender is sent to blocked sms list, this means that the sms contains words that are listed as blocked word under the blocked list of the application. You could gain more control on how sms are filtered by turning off abusive words detection and heuristic detection. If on changing the iPhone, the sms are getting whitelisted again then this is an issue with the iOS . It is not an issue with the app. On the new iPhone the sms threads will be blacklisted again when the subsequent sms from the same sender arrives. It works!!! You can tell it what words to filter into a spam text folder and it’s easy to delete the trash and not have to be constantly interrupted with dumb phishing attempts, political begging and scammers. Create your own blocklist for keywords *2022-02-14, version 1.8* I sometimes get 8-10 spam texts a day. This app has allowed me to go an entire 24 hours without even one spam text bothering me. Nothing else I’ve tried- not Malwarebytes, not Robokiller- has been able to deliver on their promise to eliminate spam. This does! I just took a peek in the junk folder and there they all are- trying to get me to click on sketchy links, selling nonsense, begging for my vote. Whereas once these unwanted messages harassed me day and night, now they silently self-segregate into a junk folder, not bothering me, thanks to this perfect app. Well worth the tiny price. The people complaining about the app not working properly didn’t follow the simple setup instructions. You just give the app permission to filter text from unknown numbers, that’s it. When you install the app and click to open, it shows you two minute-long tutorial videos for how to quickly and easily optimize your settings. Seamless. It’s one thing to receive those type of messages when you frequent certain sites but when you don’t it’s down right infuriating. After going to my carrier(Verizon) and the Apple store with NO HELPFUL SOLUTION I found this app from a YouTube video. They tell you up front that it’s not free but the fee is very affordable and ONE TIME ONLY not a “rip off” subscription. Once you go in and add some target words NOTHING and I do mean NOTHING gets through. This is the BEST SPAM STOPPER EVER..!!! Thank you so much to the team that developed this app. I waited a couple of months to give a review bc I wanted it to be fair and honest. ### 5/5 — Actually works *2021-06-11, version 1.8* I have tried several other spam killers but this one works great. ### 5/5 — Beware….Collects text data *2021-05-27* When you enable this product in message filtering, a pop up message on your phone warns you that the developer of the app will receive the “text, attachments, and sender information in SMS and MMS messages from senders not in your Contacts. Messages may include personal or sensitive information like bank verification codes.” That was not disclosed prior to purchase. I don’t want anything forwarded to the developer from my phone period. $2.99 down the drain. App deleted. **Developer response:** No, as already mentioned under “App Privacy” section on the App Store, the app does not collect any text data. This information is displayed on the App’s page prior to purchasing the application. The pop up message that you mentioned is a default message displayed by iOS when you enable any sms based extensions from iOS settings. This is a generic message from iOS to warn you against any illegitimate applications that you might be enabling. In order to filter and identify Spam sms, the application needs to receive sms so that it could identify the sender and find any spam keywords in the sms and identify whether the text message is Spam or not. This does not indicate that the application collects text data. If the application does not process sms, how will it identify whether it is a Spam sms or a legitimate sms ? We also have a very clear privacy policy that is written on the Home Page of the application. The privacy policy tells that all text messages are processed locally and they never go outside your phone. Moreover, the application does not even have access to internet. NO, we DO NOT get any of your messages. This is a paid application with focus on privacy for our users. We have many satisfied users who are using the application and are happy from its performance. I was looking for an app that would help me cut down on all this text spam that’s coming through it seems that our government and the phone companies don’t wanna do anything to help us. All the spam seems to just get worse as time goes by.
