But it’s a delightful deception. The levels are surprisingly complex, that give you an insane rush when you manage to solve them. Even when some levels were very difficult, I always wanted to solve them myself and never felt like I should look for a solution online. The graphics may fool you into thinking it’s a simple easy puzzle game, but it is anything but. This is a hardcore puzzler up there with the witness and stephen’s sausage roll. It is brutally hard to figure out just how you are supposed to do what you need to do, and it is glorious to finally figure out the solution. I still haven’t beaten the game. I haven’t even really made it three quarters through the game. That said, if these first 20-30 levels are anything to go by, then these guys are experts in puzzle design. TLDR: if you want to figure out conundrums that are hard and often seem outright impossible at first, then this is the game for you. If you want a more laid-back experience that isn’t quite as difficult (nothing wrong with that), then this is NOT the game for you. ### 5/5 — Hardest Puzzle Game *2022-02-12, version 1.0* I have had this game for a while now and it is really smooth and clean and most important of all, it is very difficult! I would recommend paying because the art is just insanely detailed and the gameplay is amazing. I need to beat about 10 more levels to beat the game now, and am looking forward to opening the Core because presumably that is the final level of the game once you beat the 6 rainbow levels (which are nigh- on impossible) I just love the cute little music too :D ### 4/5 — it’s good but prettyyyy hard *2022-01-17, version 1.0* I can’t get past the star levels it’s that hard ### 5/5 — Fantastic puzzler! *2021-12-25, version 1.0* Yes, I’m one of the ones who got this on version 1 and played the whole game for free due to the glitch. But I have since purchased it guys, and thanks for a superb game! Very simple gameplay and the puzzles are quite hard! Some take only a few minutes but there were some that had me going back over and over trying to figure out how in the HECK do I get the birds to that finish spot??! All in all super enjoyable, great graphics, and I’ve kept my eye out for a Snakebird 2. Too many times I’ve been laying in bed trying to go to sleep when an idea comes to me and I just HAVE to test it out. I beat it awhile ago and am currently attempting it a second time. The reason I deducted 1-star is because I found a bug on stage 42 that allows you successfully complete it by eating both fruit with one snakebird, sacrificing the smaller one by pushing it over the edge and going through the portal. For some reason when the little one goes over the edge, the back button highlights, doesn’t do anything and lets me continue. UPDATE: I found that the ability to “sacrifice” snakes occurs in just about any level by quickly moving another snake before it resets. What’s more concerning is the glitch was reported by another reviewer over a year ago and hasn’t been fixed. It makes me wonder if it’s because they’d be required to report their privacy practices and don’t want to. As a result, I’ve updated my review from 4-stars to 2-stars. ### 5/5 — Incredible Puzzle Game! *2021-07-27, version 1.0* The puzzles are very thoughtful and intelligent, often with numerous catches and interesting ideas per level. The art style is adorable and the amount of detail present is quite impressive. Overall I would say this is one my favorite puzzle games. Nur hartgesottene Genre-Liebhaber:innen sollten hier zugreifen, wer sich nicht sicher ist sollte zunächst Snakebird Primer spielen. Snakebird ist eines der besten Puzzlespiele die mir bisher untergekommen sind. Klar da ist die Grafik und das Sounddesign, beides perfekt; die Steuerung ist super, diesdas. Aber es wäre mir auch 5 Sterne wert wenn mein Neffe die Grafiken gezeichnet hätte und meine Schwester den Soundtrack auf einer Blockflöte eingespielt, weil die Level so verdammt gut designt sind. Es wird wirklich bockschwer aber es fühlt sich nie unfair oder beliebig an.
